When we arrived we were blown away how beautiful the house itself was. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the host. She showed us around and talked us through how to use the hottub. The Cader Suite was lovely and spacious . It was tastefully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. It was certainly a room with a view with specular views over Dungalou. We thorouhly enjoyed the short walk into Dungalou. We had a fabulous meal at a small restaurant called the Sospan. Our steaks was delicious and the wine and desert hit the spot. The staff was attentive and friendly. We walked back to our abode for the night and hit the hottub with a bottle of bubbly. It was fantastic and so relaxing. We stayed there until midnight and sat outside on the patio enjoying the clear night sky watching the stars. We had a great night's sleep. The breakfast next morning was tasty. We were celebrating our 21st anniversary. And would totally recommend the experience to other couples. It was certainly one of the highlights of our stay in Wales.

I would have liked an ensuite bathroom however the very private bathroom a short walk along the beautiful staircase landing served us fine.

The room itself was beautiful, clean, quirky and felt luxurious. The bed and bedding were super comfy! The breakfast was lovely too, plenty to choose from, cereals, pastries, toast and a scrummy bacon and egg bap delivered to our door at our requested time of 8am, which was bang on time! Our host Serafina even recommended local restaurants as we mentioned we were dining for a special occassion. The hot tub was amazing! Gorgeous views! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

The only downside was the bathroom being down the corridor from the room, but we were already aware of this when we booked.

Pen Y Coed Hall is beautiful, the area is stunning. We loved the quirkiness of the decor, we stayed in the Cader Suite which has amazing views which was lovely to sit in the big bay window having our breakfast this morning it also has the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in.We also had access to a hot tub in a summerhouse with our room. There was a lovely selection of pastries/cereals and biscuits as well as tea,coffee, bread and fresh milk and orange juice, which was perfect for if you wanted some nibbles. It’s also a short walk into Dolgellau which was perfect for us. The hosts Serafina & Neal where fab and couldn’t be more helpful😊 we will definitely be going back to this hidden Gem x

Seraf and Neal gave a lovely warm welcome and you can see their personality traits in the decor of the building. From the Beauty and the Beast staircase, to the biggest bed I've ever slept in, this is by far one of the quirkiest and most beautiful places I've stayed. The breakfast is plentiful and thoughtful and the hot tub area was absolutely perfect!! Please don't ever change the decorations! The property is about a 10 minute walk into the village where there are some lovely pubs and shops and the walk back up the hill isn't as bad as it looks! The view from the bed (which is incredibly comfy) is worth its weight in gold! We left the curtains open all night and were woken up by the bright yellow moon rising from behind the mountain. Absolutely breathtaking!! Truly one of the best places I've ever stayed, thank you so much Seraf and Neal!

Honestly, the only improvement I could suggest to make is to put a standing shower in the bathroom, as not only will it be a nicer shower experience but it will help with the regulation of water temperature. The hosts have only been there a year and to put a shower in will need a bit of work doing so appreciate it's not a priority. Absolutely didn't affect our stay though and I loved that the bathroom was separate from the room.

Sitting eating a delicious full English whilst looking at a breathtaking view from your room is definitely an experience worth paying for! The hosts were amazing, we felt very welcome. The house is stunning and decorated with some really cool art. The bed was super comfy and had a great nights sleep in it. The room is huge! The hot tub is awesome. Super quiet and relaxing. So many great things to say and not enough space to write it!!!

The bathroom is not en-suite which didn’t bother me at all as there is no one around, however there is no shower.

The house is beautiful and full of character. The luxury room is very large, warm and cosy, with an amazing view of the mountains. Furniture, decoration and paintings are beautiful and well matched. This is more a luxury boutique hotel than a B&B. Our hosts were really nice and showed us around. Serafina speaks a very good Italian. Her breakfast was delicious. Luxury hot tub in the garden is a pleasant treat that helped with the back pain caused by long hours of motorbike riding in amazing Wales!

Everything was just perfect!

The room was beautiful with a fantastic view over the mountains. Serafina greeted us when we arrived and gave great advice about the local area, good walking routes and where to eat. We followed her advice and were not disappointed! Breakfast was spot on - we had access to help ourselves to pastries, toast, cereal, tea and coffee in our room and Serafina kindly offered bacon butties also.

It’s a shame the bathroom isn’t en-suite however this was made very clear when we booked so we were expecting this and it really wasn’t a problem. The bathroom was just down the hall and was only used by our room during our stay. The hall itself is at the top of a very steep hill so I would only recommend this property if you’re a driver - there is lots of space for parking though!

The view from the room was amazing, the room was presented very well and the bed was super comfortable. Lots of options for snacks for breakfast but the cooked breakfast which was brought to our room was a major unexpected bonus. Loved the stay here. Hot tub was lovely too.

The room was beautiful with an incredible view of Cader Idris. The room had lots of breakfast items provided, with a kettle and toaster, with a fridge outside the room with milk and juice provided. The private hot tub was lovely, clean and really well situated with a view of the garden and mountains beyond. A quick and easy walk into Dolgellau means that town was accessible for food and drink options. We would definitely stay again!

Exceptional and very special place to stay. A luxurious room, decorated in a style totally in keeping with the historic property but with modern amenities. A very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and a good breakfast served in the room. But the best things were the amazing, dramatic view of the mountains (weather permitting!) and the warm welcome from the owners. We wished we could stay longer and will be back!
