beautiful setting and lovely grounds, parking available, very nice pool and lounging area and good spa, short walk into Bath. The bedroom was comfortable and stylish with water, tea and coffee provided

the only problem we encountered was the breakfast which was shambolic. we were asked if we would like toast and replied yes please but it never arrived even though we asked several times! my coffee was full of grounds as the cafetière was broken, again I had to ask several times for replacement coffee and a fresh cup. the cooked breakfast was ok but not great.we mentioned this to the receptionist on checking out but he was very monosyllabic and didn’t seem interested, no apology was forthcoming and we left on a low note!

The peacefulness of the hotel

Not much thought into what disability means as every person has different needs & making assumptions by housekeeping can be quite insulting & disappointing when you have to spend the first hour of your holiday finding a room in the hotel to suit your needs as your suite which you requested has been given to someone else all because you requested a room with wheelchair access & a walk in shower which obviously means to some people you can be put in a dark room in the back of the separate annex to the main hotel building with very steep paths to get too & no parking facilities!!! Not acceptable from a 4⭐️ hotel. I will look forward to your comments & my adjusted payment refund!!!

The property is just beautiful, we last stayed back in 2018 and still just as lovely as it was then. This was a stay for our honeymoon and the towels were in shape of swans with rose petals. Beautiful touch!

The breakfast wasn’t as great at it used to be. The hash browns were very floppy but overall it was ok :-)

The hotel is beautiful, a 20 Minute walk into the centre of bath. Parking great, they even allowed me to stay for a few hours longer when I checked out. Rooms amazing, staff friendly. The spa was amazing, salt room/ steam rooms/ snow room, special showers and indoor pool and Heat of heated pool was brilliant! I have been to the top spa in bath and this was as good and included in the price of the room.

Bathrobes… too small.. I’m size 18 and they were tiny. We ordered room service as a treat.. £55 for a basic pizza x 2, apple juice and a glass of wine… definitely not 5 star quality food. I was looking forward to breakfast… cooked breakfast was one egg, 2 tiny bits of bacon, one sausage, one mushroom and a small ramekin of cheap beans… not what I would expect from 5 star. My daughter had the 3 egg omelette - she said it tasted spongy… not nice Having recently come back from a 5 star hotel abroad where I watched the pool get cleaned daily.. the outdoor pool was cracked, chipped tiles, loose tiles and basically grubby.

breakfast a bit disorganised. staff slow and making their lives harder by bringing hot drinks milk etc separately. always had to ask for butter. not a massive range of breakfast foods on display. ordered something off the a la carte. presentation wasn’t great. really enjoyed the outside pool although generally littered with used plastic glasses and towels. ought to have a member of staff keeping it tidy and clean as a lot of people using it in the good weather. could have done with more loungers round the pool and access to drinks? never seemed to be enough staff in reception. generally a queue

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved the spa and the hotel was really lovely and grand with beautiful grounds and very close to the centre of Bath - lovely location.

A bit of a lack of staff at times - felt like they could do with some extra staff as they seemed a little overstretched. Breakfast was pretty basic for a hotel of this standard. I’ve had far nicer breakfasts at lower rated hotels. It’s little details like this that leave impressions. They should really have had more choice of breads for example. Also the bacon was very unappealing - I love crispy bacon rashers but wouldn’t eat the bacon that was as on offer, it wasn’t crispy at all. We were disappointed with the breakfast - hope they improve it!

Spa was lovely, with a great selection of sauna, steam, ice etc rooms to use for the experience. The indoor pool was super, as was the outside pool/jacuzzi. Wish it bubbled for longer though and more frequently. The room was of a decent size and catered for all our needs. The bathroom was lovely. I prefer shower cubicles due to a hip operation pending, but the bath was fairly low to sit on and shuffle into the tub for a shower. Loved the Elemis products, the magazines in the room, robes and slippers, coffee machine .... all those little extras you expect in a five star hotel.

I did have issues with dust in the room. Not the top surfaces but on the wood of the chairs on the framework legs, and on the rails in the wardrobe (thick dust on the hanging rail). Not obvious places but still builds up but clearly not cleaned for a long while. The sausages at breakfast were not good, the opinion of both of us. The hash browns were limp and soggy, not nice and crisp. No individual pots of yoghurt, just a plain type which you ladled out. I like my fruit yoghurts. I know there were some berries you could add, but I find those sharp. It was an ok breakfast but we have had better in other hotels.

location is brilliant, with easy stroll to the city centre - swimming pools are great - plentiful free parking is a real bonus - staff are excellent. We will return.

Breakfast is the low point in an otherwise magnificent hotel. Despite the best efforts of hard working staff, there was always a huge queue but less than half the tables occupied. Needs better organisation and management of the breakfast service. Breakfast itself is OK but quality is underwhelming. Rooms are fine but decor is tired and the amazing variety of towels - new, or fluffy, or threadbare, and often of strange sizes is rather curious. Again, management is an issue as the room service staff are great.

The very good breakfast was à la carte + buffet. We appreciated the very clean Spa facilities (multiple saunas, cold room, etc) The best was the outdoor pool witch has Bath's thermal water (I could't see a description / composition of the thermal water). We were like those Japanese macaques (snow monkeys) relaxing in the hot springs :))) The front garden is great and quiet. Walking time to center Bath = approx. 15-20 min

Unfortunatelly a very loud fire alarm went on two times @ 3:00 in the morning. Not hotel's fault. Some negligent guests who probably smoked in the room.

very well located, away from the hustle and bustle and had its own car park, a massive plus in a city. The spa is lovely. the rooms are equipped with anything you might need.
