The room was very comfortable and the staff, most friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and generous with a great variety of dishes on offer. The whirlpool bath was a welcome luxury and having towelling robes and slippers provided was a lovely touch.

There was nothing about the hotel we didn't like., but sadly Blackpool itself has sadly become a bit of a run down resort. I first visited in the 1970s and there was nothing like the number of closed down and derelict premises as there are today. That said, it still has that certain charm that appeals to me and I will be back.

My wife and I had a great stay of 4 nights here at Number One in Blackpool. Clean spacious rooms, helpful staff, nice lounge, and great breakfast options. We especially liked the little extras like the nice jetted bathtub in room, DVD library, tea/coffee in room (can request fresh milk), having a lounge with bar, and staff happy to give info about local activities. A great place to relax .

The main thing to consider is that the hotel is quite far south so you will want to take the tram or a bus to get to Central Pier or North Pier areas (or a long walk). We knew this in advance and just got a tram pass to go see the main attractions of Blackpool. There are several local restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Three things we would suggest for improvements: top sheets on bed (too hot some nights for duvet), soap dish, and shelf for toiletries in bathroom above or next to sink.

Brand new to making holidays on my own and I wanted my first one to be a great memory! Took a friend with me because it's always better with a friend and we both absolutely loved Number One South Beach. We had a lovely conversation with all of the staff (that we met) and felt extremely welcomed. Some tips and some life stories shared with us. The room was beautiful, always cleaned after our breakfasts and had that cared for aesthetic - and the staff were happy to explain any questions we had. The breakfasts were so good too and we had chats with staff when they checked how we were doing. We were asked all 3 days how our days had been and encouraged to talk about our adventures. Other guests were also really friendly and positively speaking about the hotel team. I'm truly grateful to remember my first personal planned holiday with Number 1 South Beach. Thank you guys so much!

Breakfast, excellent choice of menu. The service was to a high standard with staff being excellent hosts, regularly checking that we were satisfied and had all we needed; they could not do enough for us which made the service feel very special and individually tailored to meet our needs. The bedroom was well presented, good decor, comfortable and spotless. The bathroom was fitted out to a high standard and, again, like all areas in the Hotel, lots of attention to detail, customers needs and a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout. We set our standards high and expect our standards to be met. This Hotel is one of the best we have stayed in and we have travelled the world staying in 4 and 5 star hotels. You cannot fault this Hotel for the high standards and excellent value for money. The staff are some of the best we have ever met- attentive, hard working, diligent, polite and pleasant without being overbearing. The proprietors should be proud of what they have achieved. Great place. Great people. Thank you.

Could not fault it. There was not one single thing we could think of that was not deserving of a positive comment. We don't see any room for improvement - its all great as it is and very reassuring to find that on this visit, that the high standards we experienced on our first stay, over 12 months ago, have been maintained. Well Done Team.

Excellent hotel at the end of the south beach, with easy reach of all Blackpool amenities by hopping on a tram which stops nearby outside, Very friendly and helpful staff who go the extra mile to make you are welcome and have loads of advice of where to go and what's on, and where to dine, the rooms are full of welcoming touches, bottles of water, tea, coffee and biscuits, tissues, plenty of luxurious towels, Great views from the balcony room, all floors accessible by a lift, parking space outside, one of the best breakfasts you will ever have with plenty of choice,

Only criticism was bed was on the small size, saying that it was very comfortable,

Throughout the whole establishment the quality and standards are exceptional. The breakfast room is set out to give the feeling of privacy while also displaying a warm inclusiveness . Facilities within our room were of the highest standard with both bedroom and bathroom having lovely technical innovations on lighting, tv, bath. We have never stopped any where in Blackpool in 56 years that we have been coming that is as good.

The Hotel is an absolute Gem. Whoever is responsible for the contemporary styling clearly has very good taste. The public areas are beautifully appointed throughout... from the exquisite light fittings right down to the crockey. The hosts/owners clearly have a passion for the hotel and have put a great deal of thought into the presentation and service delivery. The room we stayed in was well thought out and the Bathroom was immaculate... the spa bath being an absolute delight. The Wifi provided was good speed and perfectly capable of streaming netflix to my Ipad whilst I laid in the bath whilst my other half played an online game. Having views over the sea was an added bonus (room 15) and had the weather been less offensive, leaving the balcony doors open would have been delightful. The bed was very comfortable and pillows likewise. Robes, slippers and a 'nic -nac' box provided all added to the feel of luxury. This is NOT a typical Blackpool Hotel ! In truth, it's probably underpriced... especially given the quality accommodation, service and breakfast provision... it is a boutique Hotel afterall. That said, Blackpool does have a lot of accommodation available and given the current cost of living it's understandable to keep the status quo. For us, it truly was excellent value for money and a lovely place to spend a couple of nights... especially for me as I live on a boat (which I operate April - October as a hotel) and really miss having a bath to soak in . I hope we can visit again before my season starts.

Nothing important... If I have to be critical of anything, the TV set up is a bit faffy - signal is poor (but that's Blackpool generally in my experience)... IF you're wanting to watch TV then either take advantage of the dvd library or stream to your own Ipad/tablet.

Room was lovely, comfortableand spotless, staff very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The bed was SOOOO comfy...the best sleep in years

It was a shame there was no provision to dine in the evening. As a solo traveller, i didn't want to go out after dark as i have poor night vision. However, this will not stop me from returning in the summer months

It’s beautifully decorated, modern and had a great view in a very quiet location. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Our room had patio doors and no window, it was very hot at night, there was a fan provided but due to the sockets positions we couldn’t position the fan to fan both of us and resorted to leaving the patio door open slightly. Although we were on the top floor, I wasn’t keen having the door open.

Decor was beautiful, bed very comfortable, best nights sleep in a hotel ever! Loved the personalised rock in room. Room was amazing. Box of useful items, although not used, was very thoughtful. Also not used, DVD library, which was nice touch. Very nice, friendly man serving breakfast. Lovely soft dressing gowns. Loved the idea of TV in bathroom! And worth mentioning again, the bed was REALLY comfy!!

No evening dining, fairly long walk to nearest dining, no tips from staff as to where to dine, even though we asked. Potato cakes at breakfast were very stodgy and ruined the salmon and eggs, even toast or muffins would have been more preferable. Very limited choice of drinks in bar - was told they did cocktails, but every one I suggested, they didn't have the ingredients! ie. cream for pina colada, galiano for harvey wallbanger, both quite common cocktails. Would have spent lot more money in bar if they did cocktails.
