It's a big beautiful old hotel with a lot of areas. I had no problems at all and the staff was very nice. I was afraid to stay here due to some bad reviews I saw but it was indeed a good place. Me and my wife were very glad to have chosen this one.

There's some minor things that could be better, but didn't interfere on my staying here. Some rooms are far from the entrance, you can get lost in the corridors/stairs :)

Really liked everything. I understand that some guests are bothered by the old interior but I found it charming. The location was amazing, the lunch was tasty and great value for money and the room had a seaview and the bed was comfortable and king size. The leisure space had spa, jacuzzi, great pool for only £5 pp. Expected the worst since I booked it knowing that the rating was low but I was pleasantly surprised. 10/10,will come back again for sure

Late night bar was closed but we still had fun in the lounge. Some leaks in the building

We wanted a good value, city centre location that could accommodate grandparents, daughter, grandson and 2 dogs in rooms close together, which we got, with terraces leading to the garden, amazing! They even had a separate dining room to accommodate us and other families/pet owners. The pool was lovely and the staff were very helpful. I would recommend booking breakfast/dinner at the hotel as its cheaper, £10 each for breakfast and £15 each for dinner, under 5s free. The food was good and the restaurant staff were great, especially Remy. Read the small print for the cheapest double rooms as they have some rooms that don't have windows! It's a very large, rambling hotel, with lots of stairs and not many lifts. Read the signs for room numbers, there were so many lost guests! I have read loads of bad reviews, but it was perfect for us and we will be returning.

It's also a conference venue and our bedrooms were along the same corridor as the functions rooms so there was some late night footfall, but a minor inconvenience, considering all of the positives. It is a huge hotel and some areas were showing signs of age, particularly the bathrooms and windows, but again, the positives outweighed the negatives.

Its a lovely old hotel - a bit faded but that is part of the charm.

Service of the room was not included which we didnt expect when paying £127 a night. Also it was confusing - how long is the room not serviced? Where do we put the rubbish (especially sanitary rubbish) - do we leave it in the bin outside the room. We needed to collect new towels etc from reception but this was not clearly written. Its OK as we were staying only 2 nights but it would be frustrating if we were staying longer. There was no room service for food, and we needed to pay in advance for the room. We felt as if we were paying for a 4 or 5 star hotel but receiving youth hostel service.

I have been staying in the Royal Bath a couple times a week for over a year now. - Prices for rooms are unbeatable, the ease of access to the ocean, beach & Bournemouth town centre is 2nd to none. - Rooms are always clean & tidy, with everything you need to enjoy a comfortable night, not to mention, if you need to check in later than your usual hotel, leniency is om your side. - Food & drinks are as you'd expect, enjoyable, tasty at a fair price considering the central location of this hotel. *** I would like to EXTEND my thanks & gratitude to three members of staff who always make my day when I am served by them, professional, attentive, & they take time to have a decent conversation with you all the time: The members of staff in question whom I'd like to praise for consistently going above & beyond every time I have spent time at the hotel are: *** Monika, Kanika & Francisco - I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND sharing your experience with them during your stay @ the Royal Bath. *** Many thanks to all & recommend anyone looking for a hotel filled with smiles & good times to remember, this is the one!

Historic building with an old fashioned grand hotel atmosphere. Pleasant, very clean room, everything worked well. Good quality buffet. Temperature a bit uneven in hotel,( diifficult regulating it in such a large building?) but my room was perfect temp. Great value considering what i paid, and nice staff. Garden out back must be nice during warmer dry weather.

No windows in room, but minor issue given i arrived in dark ( 6pm)and left in dark( 6.55 am)and what i paid was perhaps to be expected. small issue with drinks dispenser, pumping out v watery squash when i used it.( raunning out of concentrate?).

Great location- with the beach about 100 yards behind and the peer 250 yards to the right.- pleasant staff, clean toilets-- only gripe was the door swipe cards were a little temperamental and the room was tucked away on the west wing off the top floor and accessed by a twisting staircase--- No problem though for my wife and I who as we are both relatively fit and mobile- but the trek from reception might be a little much for a couple in their seventies.- The room we had was fine for us, en suite bathroom , a powerful shower over the bath, a good sized double bed TV and coffee and tea making facilities. It got a little hot and stuffy in there at times but there was a great big fan provided which made things more comfortable-- No complaints, great value for money.

The property definitely was in a very good location and value for money.

I booked the hotel at a cost. On arrival the staff immediately pointed out the room we boked does not have a window... i read the booking when i had booked which stated - a skyline or may not have a window. With the hotel being pretty empty how the staff were so quick to say there is no window. We ended up paying more money for a window room!! Another issue was we were informed we had to pay for the swimming pool, again if customers choose a hotel where there is a pool then customers should be allowed to use the facilities at NO extra charges. Also to add the check in is at 4pm however, the pool closes at 5pm. how do we get to use the pool in such short time.

We really liked the views from both of the rooms we stayed in. The garden area looked well kept and it was a nice place to sit and relax. We had a nice time looking around at all the different artwork and the Learning about the history of the building.

We didn't like the way the staff looked down at us as we came into the hotel, but as soon as they realised we was spending over £100 for a room, their attitude changed. The balcony above was getting scraped and repainted, and this caused paint flakes to end up on the balcony we were sitting.

Fabulous room - had french doors so we were able to sit and have a cuppa in the morning, and sit and read in the sunshine, in fact until it was quite late. Loved this being able to be outdoors and not stuck in a room. We had the buffet dinner on one evening and it was great - we would definitely eat dinner at the hotel again. The Leisure Club was brilliant. The pool was the right temperature for me and the jacuzzi was incredible. Just loved it.

Not completely happy with the breakfast. The scrambled egg was white and didn't taste of anything. Did enjoy the fried bread though. Staff were helpful and kept clearing used dishes and crockery as soon as they were finished with. The cooked food just let the side down a little.
