We've stayed in Bristol twice previously recently. One was a 3 star hotel in Clifton which was twice the price we paid for the Henbury (and they also added on ~£20 for parking by the pavement!), but it was dirty and noisy. We also stayed at a 2 star hotel in Clifton again for double the price- it was cleaner but cramped. So we didn't have great expectations for the Henbury Lodge. A great surprise then that we found it to be clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious, with friendly staff and plenty of free parking. Our room was superb, with a sofa and a large widescreen TV as well as a king size bed. Then it was all capped off with one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Also a nice 11am checkout time. About a 3 mile drive from Clifton, but well worth the extra journey!

Really this is nit-picking, as most things were to a very high standard. A bit of attention to the plants/gardens could result in something spectacular (which presumably would mean they could charge more...). Can't think of much else.

Loved the very spacious and comfortable room, with large bed, very good mattress, big sofa and chair plus coffee table, and extra dresser with chair. The bathroom was great, too, very modern and clean and elegant. Because it’s an older building, it may not be as sleek as some modern hotels (usually at much higher cost) but it makes it up with character and style. Much better than the pictures!

Nothing really. All the staff were very friendly and provided great service. The cooked breakfast could have been a tad quicker but it was clearly a busy Sunday morning, and it was generous and delicious.

A lovely little hotel. The members of staff I encountered have been really helpful, friendly and courteous. I stayed in a room in the annexe. The room is very large, has a lovely bathroom with nice clean smelling towels and a massive shower. The bed is very comfy. A massive floor fan has been provided presumably for when it gets warm. Theres a tea tray, hanging space, hair dryer and ironing board. I felt safe here. The annexe doors are accessed with a key card as are the internal bedroom doors. Parking is interesting. Its adequate but my advice is park at the front of the hotel rather than attempt the driveway to the annexe accomodation. What I found really lovely was the garden. A proper little sun trap with a small pond. There was no one else around just me and a little robin in the sunshine gazing at the pond after a day at work. This accomodation was within 1.5miles of where I was working so absolutely ideal. I didnt eat here so cannot comment on the restaurent. Do give it a try.

It does mention it in the brief, it can be fairly noisy. Its not the hotels fault its just the area. It can be very noisy, theres a lot of noisy revving engines motor bikes, , 'boy racers', and traffic noise, but if you can get over that and it doesnt bother you, this would do you fine. Lots of sirens as well from emergency services, only passing nothing to do with the hotel directly. Only one thing I would ask the hotel to do...please have a look at the shower waste pipe in rm 17. The water doesnt drain correctly and theres a stale water smell after the showers been on. Probably just needs some basic attention but thats all I can really be negative about and then Im being super fussy.

Greeted well when we arrived. Were asked if we wanted help with bags. I said no but the young man who showed us to our room asked me again when he saw I was struggling a bit. Smart comfortable room with everything we could need. We had a good night;'s sleep in a twin room with a double and single bed.

Only very minor things - ambiguous breakfast form - did we need to fill it in or not. We were told we could if we wanted to but did not have to. I think some of the staff were perhaps new and were not quite sure of the ropes yet. We had cereal and fresh fruit for breakfast which we were more than happy with but perhaps more explanation as to how breakfast worked could have been given.

A few days leading up to my stay I telephoned Henbury Lodge Hotel a few times and each time I called all the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. I arrived late on Friday night and Victor who I think was the night manager could not have been more helpful, reassuring or professional. I pre ordered my breakfast and I was asked what time I wanted breakfast then on Saturday morning I went into the restaurant area and was served a delicious breakfast. Thank you to all the Henbury Lodge team.

The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The location near Blaise Park was lovely for a stroll and near to bus routes of you don’t want to take a car into Bristol. The room met all our needs. It has a lovely, peaceful garden. Lots of choices at breakfast. Unlike many hotels parking is free.

When the hotel is full parking is only just adequate. It’s an old building and there is some noise when people are moving in the room above, not a big problem, but annoying late night and early morning.

The room was beautifully clean and very spacious. Our room was in the eaves of the building giving it some real character. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful and communication excellent throughout the booking process and stay. Hotel was in a good location having green open space to walk whilst near to my business appointment. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ordering breakfast the night before. Breakfast was great but prefer to choose food in the morning when I know what I really fancy.

The rooms were spacious with hi-tech Mira showers that were perfectly set and switched on with one button. We could park our car near the room for easy access and peaceful.

Some of the bathroom looked dusty and when the heating was on the smell of the stale cigarette smoke would linger in the air. We found the tv hard to use and the digital tv operation differed from one room to the next.

Lovely quiet corner of Bristol, with lots of green spaces., including Blaise Park Good access to bus services to the centre if required Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice Our room up in the eaves, was wonderful.

It was a shame not to have evening meals available at the weekend, but there is a great pub restaurant around the corner, for a Saturday night.

Good parking. Bus stop right outside hotel for Bristol or cribbs causeway. Very nice room & en suite, very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit to start, pre order but as much as you like, just put the quantity of item in the tick box 😁. Fabulous pub 50 yards from hotel (Blaise Inn).

Shower pressure needs looking at (room 11).
