Extended stay at the Wellington when my husband was in the nearby Southmead Hospital. Modern, well equipped clean and spacious rooms and parking. I ate at breakfast and a combination of lunch and dinner and was served tasty enjoyable meals each time. The Wellington is run by a team of young people who are enthusiastic, efficient and friendly. Special mention to the manager and Becky who went out of their way to accommodate me when I needed to extend my visit at short notice and who helped with other issues due to length of my stay. Easy access by bus to the city and to Cribbs Causeway Shopping Mall. It is my second visit and I would highly recommend.

Staff very friendly. Room clean and warm. Bed comfortable. Lots of hanging space although it was just hooks on a wall, hangers provided. Plenty of great towels and toiletries and good shower. Kettle, tea, coffee facilities provided plus drinking water and glasses.

I was expecting, and had booked, a downstairs room so I didn’t have to carry a suitcase up and downstairs. I did question the stairs when I got there but was told all downstairs rooms were outside. I had known that when I booked but assumed maybe they weren’t using them due to the cold weather in January but the cleaner appeared to be coming in from doing outside rooms. I didn’t query it again as I had already unpacked by the time I realised the cleaner had been working outside and I was only staying 2 nights. Personal I know, but I didn’t like the dinner menu so didn’t eat there in the evenings. Chair was positioned under the TV meaning you had to sit on the bed to watch TV. No instructions in room for anything.

We were in room 9 which was in a beasutifully converted quiet outbuilding to the rear of the pub with an adjacent parking space. We were very happy with this arrangement as we were staying on a Friday night, just before Christmas, and we felt sure that the rooms above the bar (and closer to the main road) would be a lot nosier. Our room had a very comfortable kingsize bed and large wetroom and came with a mini fridge, aircon and controllable heating. The evening meal in the pub was delicious.

Breakfast was disappointing. The pub only offered a cooked breakfast (made to order) which we don't eat, with no cereal or even toast available. As we had paid upfront for breakfast, the kitchen staff kindly rustled up some toasted english muffins with a bowl of fruit, with glasses of fruit juice from the bar. Not particularly good value for the additional amount we had paid.

Location was great for football at Bristol Rocers FC and it was just a short bus journey into the town centre. Room was adequate and bed was very comfortable. Perfect for a one or two night stay. Food in the pub was good, something available all day. Breakfast was fine, extensive cooked menu, but no continental type breakfast. Lovely lady serving at breakfast, very helpful and friendly.

Very limited parking at the property, although plenty of on street parking. A second chair in the room would have been nice and there was no plug for the hairdryer near the mirror. Our room was at he top of the property and the stairs are quite steep and winding, so would not be great for people with mobility issues.

Comfortable well equipped room. Managed to get a parking spot. They're limited so getting one was a pleasant bonus. Good location if you're a UWE / Gloucester Road tenant visiting parent.

Breakfast options were limited. I would have liked something lighter / continental. What I had was freshly cooked, good quality and very nice so I'm being a little picky. I'm sure they'd have accommodated me if I'd asked. Noise from upstairs rooms travelled down to my room quite a bit. I'm a good sleeper so didn't bother me too much but if you're a light sleeper / want to lie in, this might be an issue.

The staff were super friendly throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome and on hand to help with anything should we need it. The pub itself seemed like a nice place (we had a good pub meal there on the first day), but we didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. The rooms were so much better than we expected though. The rooms were big, the bed very comfortable, nice big windows and an air conditioning unit that actually worked (we had just come from the hottest hotel room ever in the previous location on our trip!) but the best thing was the bathroom. It was huge, and one of the best showers I've ever used at a hotel. Great pressure, great temperature, really nice complimentary toiletries. It makes a massive difference to have such a standard when you are staying away from home.

Sheets were clean, bed was comfy. Staff were lovely. Location was great for what we were doing.

Black mould on shower sealant. Ripped carpets. Breakfast was not the best - should have been sourdough - got dry granary. Very little scrambled egg, warm washed out smoked salmon. Coffee was good. The bar on the night we arrived - 3 TV's all blaring out at top volume and yet there was hardly anyone in there - not a single corner to go for a conversation. There was just no need for such loud TV's - all playing the exact same thing.

We have stayed here before, for work and continue to come back here. The location is great as it is easy to travel to and from. The staff are always friendly and informative. The rooms are wonderful. Comfortable and light, excellent bed and linen. Great choice of toiletries and fluffy towels. A bottle of water, local biscuits, coffee machine and a large selection of teas and hot chocolate. A good bar downstairs with a great selection of drinks and a nice beer garden to sit in the sunshine.

I have had the breakfast before and it is excellent. For dinner though, you should book and pre order as sometimes food is not always available and the menu becomes a little restricted. Our chef was ill on the night we stayed so we were given some local recommendations.

The bed was a good size, we stayed for Xmas weekend and there was a lovely welcome bag with lots of treats and a Xmas card which was a nice touch. Bathroom was a good size and nice and warm. Lovely tea pigs and quality coffee machine and a large bottle of water were in the room.

No breakfast available as it was Christmas Day and Boxing Day but obviously the staff deserve some time off and they were all delightful. Our room 1, was next to the fire escape which was being used as access when the pub was shut, was very noisy when people were coming in and out late at night and early in the morning. I would probably request a different room if we stay at Christmas again.

Owen the manager was so helpful as all of his staff. They had time to be interested in what you were talking about. stayed in building outside of pub which we preferred and will coming back again. Mixed ages in such a pleasant pub. Pool table, darts and quiet games room. Restaurant area was excellent.

There is nothing not to like. Everyone there was so friendly. Extremely safe for a family. The room was perfect and importantly we could park car next to our room.
