Bedroom, bathroom and communal spaces were all clean. The choice for breakfast was excellent. The location was excellent for my appointment the following morning. Convenient proximity to the pub opposite for evening meal.
The system for paying the parking charge; waving a mobile at a QR code mounted half way up a lamp post in the dark is not easy for those who are not tech-savvy. The payment machine by the front door was easy to use and its existence should have been made clearer to all guests, particularly those parking far away from it. Rock hard pillows should not be the default provision; the option to have had softer pillows should have been made easier. How many guests actually like the hard pillows? Do you know?

Good location with easy access to link roads leading to various parts of the city and with major stores on retail parks within a couple of minutes drive. Vehicle registration was easy, with an unmissable facility for doing so at the entrance and with a reasonable charge of £5 per day. Booking in was simple, and the staff on reception were faultless, friendly, and professional - a credit to the hotel. The room on the ground floor was spacious and well heated, with an adjustable thermostat plus a portable heater. It was comfortable with a small sofa bed and table, well lit, with a larger than usual hotel t.v. on the wall, and importantly, good noise suppression from the constant traffic a short distance away. There was no outside noise, little internal noise, and no banging of doors. A spacious shower room with a large double shower topped off the room. Very pleased. Breakfast was chaotic! No fault of the hotel or the staff, though. Just the number of guests to and fro-ing with plates and drinks - perhaps it was just a busy weekend. The choice of food and drink on the help yourself buffet appeared to be limitless, with every conceivable taste catered for and far too much to list. It was very good and far exceeded many of the hotels I've stayed in for leisure or for work. Finally, it's often the little things that ice the cake, and the hotel even offer to supply you with any of the little things you may have forgotten to pack. Well recommended.
I feel a little mean in mentioning such a petty thing, but, two tiny round knobs in the shower room to hang towels and clothes seem inadequate with the towels slipping off - hooks would've been better.

The room was well prepared, the sofa bed was made up and the right amount of towels were ready and available. The dog treat bag was an excellent bonus 😁
The area near the left side of the bed was dirty, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The toilet side of the shower is in need of repair and looks unsightly. In the morning while heading to breakfast, I asked if I was able to take our dog into the breakfast area and was told it was fine. After a while I was told by another member of staff that the dog wasn't allowed in the food area, which is fine, but Luma is a support dog which wasn't asked or taken into consideration. It would be helpful to put a sign outside of the food area to notify people of the rules.

My room had everything I needed for an overnight stay. It was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The bar menu was varied, chicken curry was great as was my glass of malbec. All the staff were extremely helpful. I wanted to stay overnight near to Southmead Hospital and I'm really pleased I chose the Holiday Inn Express at Filton.
I didn't like the parking payment machine.. it didn't recognise my registration. Even though it's nothing to do with the hotel a member of the Reception staff came out to help me. Somehow I managed to enter a leaving time of 10.30 at night the following day instead of 10.30 in the morning so I ended up paying £10 instead of £5. But after a long day at the hospital I didn't have the will to challenge it.

First of all, and most importantly, all the staff we encountered were welcoming, smiling and keen to help. Loved the extras like ironing board, free toiletries if forgotten, snacks in Reception area and breakfast included (very rare nowadays as most hotels try and charge £10 per person). Bed was very comfortable, slept really well and location was perfect as we were visiting our son at UWE Frenchay campus. Had everything we needed in the room and a nice bonus is the excellent pub opposite the Inn. Booked the Holiday Inn Express as it was the cheapest option in the area at the time but it was definitely great value for money plus the benefits mentioned above.
Only confusing thing was the payment for parking. It’s actually a very reasonable £5 per night/stay but the online screen should perhaps show 24 hour times to make it easier to understand. Very minor detail.

I stay at this hotel atleast once a month as it is convenient for me The staff here are always so friendly and welcoming... The staff are the ones that really make this hotel.
My problem with this hotel is the disabled parking spaces are always filled up by the inconsiderate drivers! The hotel charges £5 per day for parking but really need to police the disabled parking spaces properly. I was told this morning that an outside company manages the payment for the parking so why can't they come and give tickets to cars without a blue badge? As much as i like this hotel, I'm really considering going elsewhere when I come back to Bristol in a few weeks!

The dining room was clean, well laid out and staff, attentive. I had cereals, croissants and coffee, all of which were very acceptable. The lady on the reception was very helpful and cheerful especially when I remarked that she was on duty the previous evening when I had booked in and she was back on duty early the next morning. Great credit to her interpersonal qualities but I was not so comfortable with the staff roster managed by the hotel chain…..
The parking arrangement is something to be mindful of. Car drivers who park within the hotel site have to pay via QR code to cover their stay which seemed acceptable. I made the error transposing two characters of my reg no. And later that month received a parking violation letter. The response from the parking agency did, to their credit, reply promptly and politely to my challenge for the non payment and I believed the case was closed. I have now received a further invitation to pay from ParkMaven Ltd, located in London, reminding me to pay the fee. I will appeal however, it is a prompt to myself and others to be more careful when entering my Reg No. Be careful when entering your details as the communication between their agents is not as efficient as it could be.

Most of the staff were very welcoming, friendly and very helpful to all clients. The room was very clean and tidy. Lots of options for breakfast. Very close to a nice pub with a beer garden and a good menu.
One member of staff didn't smile, she seemed annoyed with new member of staff who didn't understand something but she gave little advice, which I thought was a shame. Some staff in the near by pub are obviously in the wrong job, bless them! (no smiles or 'please' or 'thankyou')

The staff are incredibly welcoming and kind. This included at check-in, again at breakfast, and at check-out. At breakfast, the man who welcomed us brought us a highchair for the table, which was very thoughtful and accommodating. The breakfast choices are excellent, and the breakfast area is clean and inviting. The room itself was modern, clean, and very quiet, which was unexpected as it was on the ground floor and close to a main road. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms had everything needed.
The only very minor thing was that the shower was slow to drain, I should have mentioned it at check-out, but I forgot. I presume it was a little blocked, but that was the only thing that could be improved upon. Everything else was perfect.

Excellent feel to the place, and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly, really made the effort to make our stay extra enjoyable. The room was spotless, and the facilities were exactly where we needed them to be. (Plug sockets by the main room mirror, separate door for the toilet to the bathroom room, etc.) The whole experience was designed for comfort and convenience. We had a fantastic stay.
The parking was £5 per day and where we got a car parking space, was right around the other side of the building from the entrance. So this was a little inconvenient with all of our luggage.
