The hosts were really accommodating as we needed to leave early for a long day of work ahead where we wouldn't be getting to eat for about 8 hours. Took our breakfast order so they could get straight on it in the morning and got us out of the door on time. the room was lovely, comfy and large bed, spotlessly clean and everything you'd need. Perfect location with parking - an absolute must for us. Just a short drop over the hill into Dartmouth. We were lucky to find this after being let down on another place I'd booked months ago with less than 24 hours notice - for one I'm glad I was let down as this was so much better.

There was nothing at all - very accommodating. Some guests might find the decor dated in the main areas but there is nothing wrong with that, it's an old building. I'd rather have a welcoming host and a comfy bed than modern decor!

We arrived to a friendly greeting by the host who explained everything and upgraded our room as well. We got a stunning four poster room. Everything was clean and tidy and the bathroom was more than adequate. The bed was very comfy and slept well. The breakfast was very good as well with a choice of things to eat. It is on the top of a very steep hill, which didn't bother us at all, but it may bother some. It was nice and quiet and only the birds to wake us up in the morning. Overall was very impressed and delighted with our room. It is dog friendly too. I have no complaints whatsoever!

Can't fault it.

Really friendly and helpful staff. A lovely old farmhouse. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. I stayed for a walking weekend so it was really great that there was a small fridge in the room to keep food fresh. The en-suite was recently fitted and very nicely done.

Not that I didn’t like it, but the location was a long walk back up the steep hill from the centre of town - bus service was good for local trips but the Sunday/Bank Holiday service to Totnes had only two buses out of town so I had to rearrange my schedule home. Also, there wasn’t a little pub nearby!!

Location was about 15 minutes walk down to town centre which you can get the number 90 bus which is a regular service as well. Hosts friendly and helpful. A good choice of breakfast. I particularly liked the fresh fruit all cut up and in a bowl. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Bath was a lovely round shape which felt luxurious. Room temperature was good.

Very very friendly staff, warm welcome and very nice at breakfast!! Breakfast freshly made, we even got fresh fruits and yogurt. Nice room, good size. Free parking in front of the hotel. Only 15min walk to beautiful river and town center. But keep in mind: on the way back, you're constantly walking uphill, so make it 20min :-)

Not really much space in the bathroom to put things. Towels felt a little damp all the time, so it didn't feel comfortable to dry ourselves with them.

Jean and her husband were fantastic, room was lovely, wifi fast, everything was cleaned to a high standard. Tea and coffee facilities with real milk in the fridge! Breakfast was lovely, scrambled egg were perfect :). There is plenty of parking onsite and the ground are kept beautifully. I had a lovely experience.

My only con, and it was my fault I did not request, was that I did not have a bath in my room only a shower. As I said I am sure if I would have asked Jean would have accommodated this.

The farmhouse is beautiful, setting is lovely. The first impression was fantastic with a wonderful warm and friendly welcome. Breakfast was superb, great selection. The addition of free on site parking is a godsend for Dartmouth. The farmhouse is set on the high side of Dartmouth, so walking to town is fine (all downhill), but can be a challenge walking back, some part very steep. There is, however, a bus that departs from Dartmouth pontoon, (next to Embankment bar) and stops a few metres from the property, I believe this is the number 90. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the is a fridge that fresh milk is placed in every day. I would deffinately stay here again when in Dartmouth.

Everything great

Beautiful quaint old building, lovely spacious room with 4 poster bed and spotlessly clean throughout. Good breakfast and Peter was very friendly and informative. Handy to have free parking on site.

Waitress was very unfriendly and barely civil, no greeting etc. each morning. The steep hill into Dartmouth could have been a problem to mobility impaired but we drove in and got parking quite easily.

Breakfasts were excellent; freshly cooked and well-presented. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean with a good bathroom. Another nice touch was the small jug of fresh milk left in the fridge for use with tea and coffee - so much better than the usual jiggers of "long-life".

The only possible improvement might have been the provision of a sheet under the duvet, so that the duvet itself could have been thrown off, allowing one to sleep under just a sheet. However, this was relevant only because the weather was very hot at the time. In the normal way it would not matter.

The host Nigel was our first contact... he was rude and unhelpful... 'bus stop is across the road' after 2 busses didn't stop, we had to walk with no path quite a long way to the 'actual' bus stop! The location isn't in Dartmouth but has lots of frequent buses. Don't even attempt to get a taxi! It's impossible! Last bus back 11pm but everything closes at 10.30 as its a working port. Loved the room, exceptionally clean, breakfast was good £7.50 Met some lovely people staying there which made the stay. Wouldn't stay there again.

Our 'host' Nigel, a definite throwback from the 70s! Everyone else was lovely. Having to hunt down the spare toilet roll! Took till we were leaving to spot it. Look up!!
