Clean, tidy, modern, staff friendly, food excellent. At breakfast there was a fire alarm which was handled quickly & smoothly by staff. Little hiccup with replacement breakfast (went cold while we were evacuated) but breakfast was still excellent.

The rooms are partly very small... so be aware, when booking them. Still, they are in a very good shape (seem to be newly renovated (comment as of Aug 2023). The restaurant was very nice with a good range of very good meals and drinks / cocktails. The cooked breakfast was very good and gave a good choice. Aside of the (very good) cooked breakfast, there were cereals and very good scones.

If travelers prefer a continental breakfast, they would be limited to cereals. No bread, sausage or cheese was available immediately. Still, we did not ask, as the offered breakfast was very nice and sufficient.

I can not rate this property highly enough. The Woodside is so so good! From the moment we walked into the door we knew it was going to be exactly what I hoped for. We were warmly met by a lovely lady who was most welcoming. Our rooms weren’t quite ready yet so we went into their delightful dining room where we sat by the window and had some afternoon tea. We then we were given the keys to our rooms to be greeted by a beautifully (looked newly renovated) room. It was fresh, the windows were left open for a wonderful fresh breeze to fill the room, the linen was lovely and some thoughtful snacks were left for us to enjoy. The bathroom also looked new, and the shower was delightful. Dinner that night in the restaurant was really good as was the service. In fact the whole team, day and night were exceptional. There was a young team who really really were friendly and took pride in their work. There are a lot of hotels that could learn from this little roadside inn. It was exceptional and deserves all the accolades it gets.

We stayed 5 nights here and the staff could not have done anymore to make our stay memorable or look after us. We were well looked after by all the staff, especially Luke & Andrew. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast was tasty with lots of choice to start your day. Our room was spacious and top quality. A nice touch was the regular supply of snacks in our room which we took out each day on our adventures to see the sites. The location was brilliant, wonderful historic village, close enough for day trips to Edinburgh by train, Stirling, Loch Lomond, Falkirk & Bannockburn.

The overall ambience and the friendly staff. We sat outside in the beer garden after checking in on a beautiful sunny day. Walked down to the small village of Doune and to Doune Castle. Our evening meal was fantastic as was our breakfast. The background music playing in the hotel was great and we had a lovely break. Our bedroom decor was beautiful with the nicest welcome tray I have ever had in any hotel. The room was spotless. Ample parking on site. Top marks to everyone

As our bedroom was at the front there was some traffic noise, but this would not stop me staying there again.

The Woodside in Doune was our favourite place to stay in all of the UK. It’s a charming little place with comfortable rooms and strong water pressure. The building is newly renovated so everything was clean and modern. They have an excellent restaurant with patio seating and breakfast is complimentary for guests. The menu selection was very good and included all the traditional Scottish fair. The best part for us was the staff. They were all super friendly and gave guest comfort the highest priority.

Hotel has new owners and they have done a brilliant job with the decor and service. We stayed in a double room and although small it had everything we needed. It was exceptionally clean and the extra snacks and drinks left for us was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The assistant manager who attended to us when we arrived and when we left was friendly, helpful and professional. All other staff were equally lovely. We stayed for dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk into small town centre and Doune Castle. We wished we’d been staying longer

Absolute gem. Stayed overnight for work and so glad I booked here. The hospitality was great from the first interaction right through till I checked out. The room was decorated to a very high standard and was meticulously clean. The cherry on the cake to my stay was the food, which was amazing, I genuinely wasn't hungry when I arrived (quite late) and the food tasted amazing, the chefs they employ here are top notch. Value for money? Absolutely, the rate for the room was less than alternatives (hotel chains) and the food/drinks were very reasonable. I was so impressed with my stay that I've offered to take my wife there for a weekend retreat in the near future

This property is in a good location with a short walk to the town centre. Very welcoming, staff friendly, room very attractive and recently refurbished. Food was nice a good ambience with background music.

Our room was very noisy given that it was facing south and onto the busy main road. during the hot spells, the room temp was unbearable but we were given a floor standing fan which helped a bit. A little disappointing too, that the breakfast menu catered only for the residents who like hot breakfasts. I personally prefer a continental choice and unfortunately I struggled as their was no continental food, no fruit yoghurt,croissants etc. It didn’t spoil our visit and we do hope to return.

This hotel is so good. The rooms are beautiful and clean, decor is amazing. The downstairs areas and restaurant are equally beautiful. We loved it The restaurant food was first class and the drinks menu excellent. Lovely wines and gins. The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and were happy to chat. The restaurant staff so professional and happy in their job, which is not so common these days. The manager showed us the next area being renovated and it sure looks amazing. Absolutely would recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back.
