Stayed so could meet friend for lunch as it was convenient location for us both. Breakfast was fine. Had light lunch with friend and enjoyed the meal. Price paid for stay good value, did have small double but it was adequate, good shower and clean.

Window couldnt be opened very far, totally understandable due location of room onto flat roof - there was a fan which we didnt use. Didnt like that having ordered discount card when checking in online that I then had to ask for the card to be issued after arrival and I wasnt told that it had to be presented on entering restaurant/ordering drinks - I presumed wrongly that it would have to be presented on settling the bill and amount deducted before paying final bill - wasnt a big thing - just annoying.

it was conveniently located and as promised, we were allocated a ground floor room. the breakfast staff were extremely helpful, in particular a young lad called Aidan (think that was his name, my memory eludes me at times)who went out of his way to help us by plating up and carrying my friends hot food back to our table, huge well done to that young man who was courteous, friendly and treated us with respect at all times 😊

it is a bit dated in the rooms and housekeeping could do with a refresher as not all areas were clean (old bits of sweets on floor, toothpaste marks on bathroom door) The mattresses on the beds need renewed also and we didn’t have a restful sleep because of this

Everything was great- breakfast, parking, wifi, beds, pillows, staff apart from one thing.

Our room was very hot when we arrived and their was no aircon controller to adjust it to our comfort levels in the room, nor a fan to circulate the air. We opened the windows, but they had a restrictor on them so they could only be opened a small amount, not enough to cool the room sufficiently. The hallway outside was even hotter. In the morning we had no hot water. We notified the hotel, and they checked it out- a problem with the boiler, reset it, but as we were short on time, only had a warmish shower as we didn't have time to wait for it to heat up.

The room was clean and a good size although perhaps the furniture was a little dated. The buffet breakfast was well stocked and offered plenty of choice. I only had dinner on one of the evenings but it was good and did not scrimp on the amount on the plate.

I couldn't properly connect to the Wifi as I kept getting error messages. I had my own mobile data so it wasn't a big issue. The shower gel dispenser over the bath was too high up, even for me at 6ft, I still had to stretch up to use it. It would be better placed lower down and on the wall above the taps. The soap dispenser for the wash-hand basin was too far away causing water to drip on to the floor. Although only £5.00 (which I did pay) to use the swimming pool etc., I would have thought that it should be free to hotel guests.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Booked very much at the last minute we enjoyed a lovely 3 day stay. The room was spotless and spacious, Standard King in the Abercromby Wing, housekeeping was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was great and the swimming pool and gym facilities were an added bonus. Situated in lovely leafy grounds with plenty of car parking, I thoroughly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back.

Hotel and grounds were lovely. let us check in early which was great after an overnight flight from Canada. Overall we enjoyed our stay! Staff were very helpful and friendly. great way to spend our first day in Scotland

No lift to second floor. Unable to store our luggage on the day we checked out as they had a wedding that day. We were hoping to take a cab to the village but had to stay in the hotel bar with our luggage for 3 hrs. At least we were comfortable and were able to have a drink and use the facilities.

We liked the hotel and the friendly staff, and the room was comfortable. The dining area was spacious and the food from a set menu was unpretentious but good. It was obviously a place where local organisations such as Rotary met, and weddings and other functions were held. There was a heated swimming pool which we did not have the opportunity to use. My husband had wanted a hotel of good standard in a quiet venue, and this ticked the boxes. Bus services were available within a short walk.

It was further out of Dundee than we had realised. When we needed a taxi, we learnt to order it well in advance as it could take up to 20 minutes to arrive. It was easier to have dinner at the hotel than go out and find a restaurant. This would not have applied if we had come by car.

Breakfast was excellent good choice on offer

Dinner was just ok presentation wasn't great and over priced for food served. The leisure facilities had a separate charge of £7.50 person per day or £10 per person for the stay. We thought this should be included in the price of our stay as most other hotels and were surprised and disappointed when we arrived to be informed there was a charge for using the leisure facilities

Bed was very comfy and despite a wedding party going on it was very quiet. The swimming pool was lovely and the hot tub very hot! Staff were all friendly and helpful, food was quick in the restaurant and we enjoyed the breakfast. Our room was spotlessly clean too. A short walk to the beach at Broughty Ferry which is also very pleasant.

Our room was on the third floor and there isn't a lift, so for guests with large bags it can be a bit of a workout! Not a problem though, as we were told about this long before arrival.

Food was well cooked. Breakfast was very good.

Room ventilation poor. Windows open so far (h&s) but was hot overnight. Noisy adjoining rooms, door slamming shut late on. Choice of fish and chips very disappointing. Like frozen pack fish defrosted and crumbed. ( Unlike the seam bream). £7.50 for single day use of leisure facilities? Additional cost takes away from the appeal of the hotel.
