The property is 3 star and it reflects that in terms of there are few bells or whistles. However it is clean, comfortable, very welcoming with great staff, peaceful and we had no complaints at all. Having a balcony in the room was a bonus as it gave a great view and allowed more air to circulate. The breakfast was also very good. It is quite isolated being a couple of miles to nearest shop but the golf course was in great condition and a nice, reasonably priced test.

The dinner menu was limited and somewhat dated (starters of prawn cocktail, garlic mushrooms, pate, soup for example) but the food was fine.

A good hotel with a golf course 20-30 min outside of St Andrew’s. The golf course itself was beautiful and the hotel even though it is older - it had enough comforts for us to enjoy our 2 night stay. Staff was VERY pleasant and helpful. The price was right on! Good value for your money. Easy drive to St Andrew’s.

The food in the restaurant was just ok. Eat in St Andrew’s before going to the hotel. I wish we had a small fridge in the rooms.

Fantastic location. The golf course is very beautiful, and we, as non golfers, were allowed to walk on it; of course, without disturbing the golf players. What a privilege. The club house is beautiful too with large windows overlooking the golf course. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great food, large and quiet room. In the reception area, there was a shelf with books people had left for anyone to read. I exchanged one book of mine, which I had finished reading, with one that I had not read before. What a great idea. Thank you very much for a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Nothing.

The location is ideal and the views over the golf course is beautiful. The rooms are a decent size and the beds are very comfortable. Spotless throughout with generous size bathrooms too. Great breakfast selection and the full cooked breakfast sets you up for the whole day. The staff are professional, welcoming and friendly.

Like many hotels particularly after lockdown and trying to recoup revenue I would now consider a modern refresh and perhaps lose a couple of old sofas that, while spotless, have long passed their use by date. The collapsed seating cushions don’t add charm.

Loved everything. Great sized room with big comfortable bed ,table and chairs which made a nice change for watching tv instead of lying on the bed .Lovely view over the golf course from the windows and the balcony .Plenty coffee ,teabags ,hot chocolate and nice to see biscuits as not had them in hotel rooms recently .Everything was clean and fresh .Great cooked breakfast with plenty of choice .Ate in the Hotel both nights we stayed and the food was lovely .The staff were very friendly and very helpful even though they were very busy .Really enjoyed our stay and would definately stay there again

The shower was a bit temperamental but eventually got a decent temperature but that was probably just me as my husband didnt have too much of a problem .There was nothing else we didnt like .

Great location. Wonderful views, super friendly and an excellent, challenging golf course. All the staff were fantastically friendly and mega helpful. A relaxing, welcoming hotel that does not take itself too seriously :in contrast to the many uber expensive alternatives in St Andrews.

Nothing to dislike - just a couple of minor observations. It would be good to have a couple of recharging docking stations in the bedrooms - we've almost reached the point when you expect them to be there and forget to take the plugs. Also, the cold water charges out of the tap at a notably faster rate than the hot water emerges.

Absolutely loved it. We had a beautiful large room overlooking the golf course. We have been travelling around and it felt very luxurious. The bathroom had a spa bath and seperate shower. The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast with a view

Not a dislike but our preference would have been hotter water in the shower and bottled water in the room

We're not golfers ourself, but Drumoig was a convenient overnight stay between our stops in Dundee and St. Andrews. A good price, especially relative to options in St. Andrews itself. A comfortable room and bathroom. Expansive breakfast options in a dining room with great views over the golf course. And, congenial and helpful staff.

We stayed at the Drumoig gold hotel for a wedding last weekend. The room was larger than we expected and well equipped with everything we needed. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had plenty of room and a stunning view of the golf course. The staff were very friendly. We ate in the bar area before the wedding and the food was fabulous and great value for money. During the wedding party, it was clear that the staff were working hard but still managed to make us feel welcome and were very happy to assist.

The hotel is very dated. The reception area is quite untidy and wasn't particularly welcoming! My first question was do you offer room service and I got an outright no! I did explain that we had travelled for hours to get there and we were hungry, the staff mentioned that we could get a sandwich in the bar but because they had a wedding on, we couldn't have any more than a sandwich. The staff were all clearly geared up for the wedding, which was great for the wedding party but I just wonder how the other guests feel when they are told they can't have 100% of the service because the wedding was taking priority?

Great location, lovely grounds, cheap price, very quiet, comfortable and clean. Cooked breakfast was really lovely and freshly prepared

Bit dated and very basic facilities. More breakfast options would have been nice especially for the continental part. It was pretty cheap though for the area.
