Room was clean and fresh, as i am visually impaired i found room a little on the dark side but this is not a complaint it’s my eyes in what i perceive. Unfortunately one of desk lights was out and did mention to reception before i left hotel. Always very hot water in toilet/shower and plenty soap provided. Choice of pillows hard or soft and bed alwarm, just the way i like good for your back.. Location near shops and also a short walk from V/A and train station

From my point more lights in bedroom. A small light above in unit where kettle /culls are stored.Not all of us who stay have brilliant sight

Location was perfect. Right next to Slessor Gdns and concert we were going to. The actual room was spotless, had coordinated, modern decor and comfortable beds Breakfast was tasty and had good choice.

The hotel was exceptionally busy because of the music festival. Staff were doing their best and were very apologetic but we had a very long wait for our room. Also didn’t like the way you were not guaranteed a double or twin room, I think you should know before you go! To be honest the decor in the entramce and reception areas was a bit tired and I felt for the money paid it was not as good as others at that price. A freshen up of decor and a good clean of the external building would really improve the place.

- Central location - Extremely comfy bed - Smart TV - Good shower (and Dove shampoo / lotion) and very clean - Room with iron / ironing board (and optional cleaning + dry cleaning service) - Clean communal spaces - Free breakfast (more options than expected such as yogurt and berries) General quality of stay better than other chain hotels

- Coffee was awful at breakfast - Staff should welcome guests as they arrive at breakfast and direct them to the facilities - Do not use parking connected to hotel, use the Olympia Car Park (E Whale Ln, Dundee DD1 3JU) as it is significantly cheaper and only a couple of roads away (it's 24 hours)

Room was well designed - e.g. I liked the bathroom door that doubled up as the door to the WC. and I liked the colour palette. Serene but not boring. Good lighting; comfortable but firm (which I need) easy chair. Dining area for breakfast light and attractive. Staff were friendly, tho' see below...

Hangers were too close together and the back ones were difficult to use due to the ironing board. This was not well designed. The light above the long mirror was flashing on and off and the initial response to my passing this on to reception was " Oh, all right" without any noting down or change of behaviour. It was only when I pushed the point later in the morning and said it could cause a grand mal epileptic attack in someone who was susceptible to epilepsy that it was noted down and I was told it would be seen to. Breakfast was 'cheap' and poor quality. Only porridge available was in pot noodle-type pots and contained dried milk powder which I am allergic to. On the last day I bought my own breakfast items from Tesco and had them in my room.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Dundee. This hotel is superbly located close to the train station and the centre of Dundee. Our room was modern and reasonably sized and the cleanliness of our room and the building as whole was fantastic. The staff were all great, in particular Euan, who had a fantastic demeanour every time we encountered him. The breakfasts were perfectly cooked every morning and very tasty - a great way to start every day of our break!

The only complaint we had were the bedside lamps, which emitted a high pitched sound when switched off. This was reported to reception who assured us it would be looked into as we checked out. A minor thing in a otherwise perfect stay.

No facility for cooling room in the very hot weather - had to leave window open, which didn’t have much impact except to admit traffic/gull noise. Appreciate this is unavoidable due to location, but a cooling fan would make all the difference. Also breakfast good value but you can’t control guest hygiene, so large jars never a good idea. Not staff fault that another guest was double dipping Nutella and happy to return jar for others to use after their child had stuck their hands in it a couple of times and lucked Nutella off. Yeuch.

Room spotless, staff very friendly and helpful, great facilities. Hairdryer, iron, ironing board in the room. Great location - perfect for the Caird Hall, V&A and town centre. Lovely view of the Tay Bridge and river from our room. Breakfast was great - cereal, porridge, fruit and yoghurt. Bread, baps and croissants along with a small selection of cooked breakfast items (scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon). All very fresh. Tea, coffee, juice and milk available. Everything you need for a good start to the day! Fantastic value for money for 2 people, 1 room and breakfast. Would recommend to everyone and will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Dundee!

Honestly couldn't fault anything in our stay, not even if I was nit-picking!

We stayed for 2 nights as we came for my sons Graduation at St.Andrews University from England. Great friendly staff Gorgeous Christmas set up we took lots of pictures. Comfy Bed and great location. As a disabled person with a blue badge i was very happy with Free car parking aftef showing the blue badge.

The bedroom itself was quite small for 2 Adults and a child, and was EXTREMELY cold all night even with the heater on 24. We we even mentioned it to reception but they just said turn it up to 24 which we did boy bothering nights we were quite cold. Secondly copmpared to the Birmingham Express, the breakfast was not as good at all. Serving from a small area they had no Crunchy nut cornflakes or coco pops which kids love. The bacon WAS SO DRY it was just cracking in half on both sides and tasted horrible. And they didn't have bags which is so easy for Grab n Go if youre i n a rush. Oh and the lightning in the bedroom was AWFUL, dark and shady room with just 1 lamp shade hanging off a HOOK

The location of hotel was only short 2 minute walk from shops, hotel was spotless, rooms very clean, as were beds and bathroom . tea/coffee making facilities in room. Staff were outstanding, professional and very friendly. Breakfast was buffet style, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, bread, rolls , croissants and small muffins. Yoghurt, fruit Tea coffee fruit juice, more than enough.

I couldn’t fault anything about hotel or location, near all amenities, shops, bars etc also a short walk to the V&A.

Very warm welcome. Room immaculately clean. Central location with easy access to all Dundee area amenities.

We were in a room adjacent to a fire door in the main corridor. The fire door banged at least three times on each access and following closure, This occurred a number of times on an near hourly basis throughout the Saturday night stay. A reset of the fire door damper return speed could reduce the problem.
