Loved the location and the old world traveller hotel feeling. The character of the property is outstanding and there has obviously been thought put into the experience from the key to the room to the library and the whiskey bar and restaurant. The room was pretty and the outdoor space was lovely. The staff kindly packed us a lunch, gave us great restaurant recommendations in the nearby area and were always helpful when asked. We had a fun evening in the Quaich bar chatting with people from around the world.
We found the food at the on site restaurant a bit expensive but tasty. There were a couple things we weren’t used to, like black mold in the bathroom, but we learned as we travelled around it’s a bit of a fact of life in old stone buildings.

The staff, the whisky bar, and the food. Everyone was courteous and professional and Callum and Alfie were very knowledgeable and helpful in the whisky bar.
Clearly understaffed resulting in slow service and a feeling of mayhem at times despite staff obviously trying their very best. Other customers passed comment on their perceived decline in service since previous visits.. I was confused also as to why there would be additional surgcharge for some breakfast options. Why, for example would there be a £5 extra charge for some options and £3 charge for fresh juice?

Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff - on reception, serving breakfast, in the evening restaurant and whisky bar and housekeeping - all lovely. Enjoyed relaxing in the guests' lounge in the afternoons, very comfortable and relaxing space. Evenings spent in the whisky bar - great space and lots to choose from!
Our bath/shower had very little pressure, it was impossible to shower and I gave up trying to run a bath. Our ground floor room had cars parked outside but there were no nets/blinds to give privacy during the day.

Breakfast and the whiskey bar were fantastic. Staff was very nice and grounds and building gorgeous and well kept.
Restaurant for dinner was ok, bed was a bit soft and narrow, room got a little stuffy since it was warmer than usual weather but we were provided a fan which was appreciated. Our room was above the whiskey bar balcony and some nights was loud until bar close due to people sitting there to smoke while drinking.

It's a great little hotel, and totally stunning - some would say grand, particularly the sitting room. We were there just before Christmas & it was very festively decorated, the fires were roaring - just fabulous. It's a real bonus that you can take your dogs with you & they are allowed everywhere including the restaurants, which is a great feature for pawrents of well-behaved dogs. The team could not do enough for us. We have breakfast, lunch & dinner at the hotel and all were fabulous. The steak pie was full of meat which is a rarity these days. I had the vegetarian breakfast (although not a veggie) and they happily added an egg for me. Overall a great place to overnights & if we are in the area again, one we would definitely revisit.
This is a completely a personal preference & no reflection on the hotel, but the mattresses were a bit too soft for my liking.

We can't express how amazing our stay has been at the Craigellachie, we absolutely loved it. We brought both our dogs with us on the trip and they have been so accommodating. The staff are so inviting and friendly. We loved all the hotel has to offer, from the beautiful walks nearby to the Spey Inn, the Quiach bar, excellent breakfast and beautiful rooms. We would definitely stay again when we're next in the area and recommend to anyone who's travelling nearby. They're also conveniently very close to a lot of the distilleries. Parking was easy, hotel was clean, smells absolutely incredible too at reception.
Nothing at all! It was the perfect stay. From the service, to the food, cleanliness, location, facilities, we can't think of any fault.

The location was central - it had a nice feel about it - we were able to park our car quite close to the entrance as there is no lift here - so if you have heavy bags be prepared to lift - the restaurant and bar downstairs very cool - best room however is the beautiful Quaich room - a very knowledgable bar tender made us feel very welcome and it was cosy and warm - the spey valley beer on tap was cold and good - town itself not much going for it - but the hotel is an amazing old building and is a great base and location for all of the distilleries in Speyside area that you need. - Must visit which is walking distance from the hotel the old Speyside bridge - beautiful and a great spot to have wee dram on.
We were on the second floor - there was no air con in the room - so windows had to be left open - on both nights we had to shut them as the staff from the restaurant have their breaks outside and they were so loud and disruptive - please can they be told not to do this when guests might be trying to rest -

The hotel was built in 1814. I felt like we had been transported in time, well except for the modern facilities. We picked the location because it was close to the distilleries we were visiting, so it was a very wise choice. We booked dinner at the hotel restaurant and so glad we did. We were tired from our long day of touring so it was nice to just unpack and go downstairs for dinner. Definitely make a reservation, it was a very busy night when we were there. My big four poster bed was so comfortable, it was the best sleep I'd had on 10 day road trip. Breakfast was included in a different dining room. Both dinner and breakfast were very good.

The breakfast was excellent and had a great variety of menu items to choose from. The hotel was located in a beautifully restored old building with tons of character. When we checked in, they gave us old-fashioned keys to our rooms. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms spacious and clean. I loved that you could walk on the nearby trails to the famous bridge over the river.
We ate dinner in the onsite restaurant. The food was good, but a little pricey. It is a little hard to find the property when you turn in from the main road. We drove right by it!

Called a snug twin it was a nice roomy space (hardly snug in my book). High ceiling helped. Beautiful bedlinen and towels. Friendly staff.
No fridge in the room. Hairdryer on its last legs (heat but not much wind!). Window didn't stay open (unless propped with a spoon!). Couldn't get close to a mirror to do makeup (bathroom had a shelf underneath it and only room on 1 side to get close. Bath VERY slippy - a shower mat would have been nice.
