Location is ideal. Staff were super friendly & helpful. The beds were comfortable and clean. Room was very spacious and clean,& cosy in the evening. Powerful fan supplied , hairdryer, safe , tv, iron , kettle etc. Nice clean bathroom, & lovely fresh white towels. Yes you could find the odd cracked tile, or discoloured & tired paintwork, but those points are nothing. Floorboards can be a little creaky & so you might sometimes hear folk upstairs walking about, but it didn't disturb me . The hotel garden is gorgeous to walk round ! Breakfast was faultless! Huge variety of choices. The cooked breakfast items were really fresh tasting &very well cooked . Coffee was excellent & the fruit selection was great. We ate at the hotel one evening and that was delicious too. It was a very enjoyable stay ,& made all the better because of the great staff . I would 100% visit again 😊

Beautiful elegant hotel, that is in the perfect location for the theatre opposite. It is currently being overhauled on level 3, but this did not effect my stay. iReception staff were warm and welcoming. All the public areas are immaculate, well maintained and elegantly furnished. I had an en suite single room, which was surprisingly spacious, very clean and airy. The bed was super comfy, with two decent pillows and crisp white sheets. Used the complimentary bathroom products of which my hair approved, plenty of towels. My room did not face the sea so there was no road noise and I slept well. Breakfast was what you would expect but of a better quality than most. Sourdough toast, muesli with oatmilk, Earl Grey tea served at table in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. The bar area was pleasant too and comfortable at the end of my night.

The lift was a little antiquated and did not seem to always come when called. Breakfast waitress was formidable and a little intimidating or did I just upset her somehow. I had a problem with the water temperature of the shower, which I never managed to find hot despite twiddling the controls this way and that. But it was July so I was glad to cool down.

Location couldn't be better. Amazing view from the window, despite the whole hotel is in scaffolding due to renovation. Breakfast was wonderful, wide choice and very tasty. It didn't took long to warm the room with the heater.

The hotel is quite outdated, hope the renovation will bring in some fresh air. It was very cold in the bathroom, the battery couldn't warm it enough, and in the room it didn't work at all. Single glazing of the windows and constant draught. No slippers provided. A mattress was very hard but my friends in other rooms liked that fact, so it is more a personal preference.

A good location. Loved driving up the ‘road of remembrance to get there. Clean room, and a good breakfast. It’s well located in regards to vicinity to the town and the sea front.

The third floor was being renovated. I couldn’t use the lift for 30 minutes as the builders were using it. The 3rd floor was out of bounds, therefore I couldn’t get up to the 4th, ended up being late for work when I was leaving! The ignorant builder wouldn’t let me get in so I could grab my bag after breakfast and leave the hotel. This was really annoying.

High quality establishment. A newly refurbished exterior (still finishing off while we were there). Our room was also newly refurbished. A good size with a view. Very quiet and genteel area but close to the city centre on foot. Up on the cliffs so a long walk to the beach. Nice area to walk around. Gardens and cliff-top paths.

The corridors upstairs were very narrow and twisty. The lift was tiny - barely enough for two and was used by workmen on the floor below and it was covered in plastic and paint speckled. Not so good for carrying luggage.

Our room (and floor) has recently been renovated to a high standard. Despite the hotel undergoing renovations, we were not really aware of them as the contractors are most considerate towards guests. Breakfast - 100%; Staff - attentive, polite and very helpful; on street parking is available and secure. The location is absolutely stunning with sea views.

The lifts - both are tiny, but they are [probably] included in the renovation plans. The could be more signage pointing the way to the lifts.

Our room was clean and comfortable with a sea view we did not expect. The bathroom was spacious, warm and well lit. The breakfast room was elegant with views over the garden and the sea. The food was plentiful and very good.

We were not aware the hotel was being restored and when we saw the scaffolding we were apprehensive. Our room was already redecorated so we had no complaints but our friends were allocated unrestored rooms which were not up to standard and there were problems with the hot water

The first morning it was a buffet lots of choice, but the hot food could have been hotter, and the coffee was a bit weak. The second morning it was waitress service, everything hot, and great coffee.

We had a meal in the bar on the Wednesday evening, and asked if I could put it on our room, and pay in the morning, but was woken up at 10.30, (evening) and asked to settle the bill. I was a bit miffed! Also to find our bedroom from the lift was a bit like a rabbit warren, but we soon sorted ourselves.

So many amenities provided by the hotel, room service, a bar, restaurant and Costa coffee. Great view from the fourth floor onto gardens and the sea. Location almost opposite the Leas Cliff Hall is great. Desk fan in the room, which looks like it was recently refurbished. A family of seagulls kept me company just outside my window which was super cute! I consider all this great value at £60 a night. Staff are also pleasant, friendly and helpful.

If the weather had been hotter while I was here it could have been uncomfortably warm in the room. I kept the fan on the max setting the whole time. Toilet flush was a bit weird and had to be unblocked on the first day.

The hotel had a sort of old world feel (some people might prefer a more modern bedroom but I liked the slightly older feel). It's been brought up to date with a quality restaurant (although in truth a bit expensive for a solo traveller). The breakfast was really excellent and included in the room price I paid. Staff were very helpful. Location near the seafront was great for taling a stroll.

The only small issue was the lack of free parking outside the hotel, the options are to pay for a parking ticket or (try to) find a place a little way away and walk back to the hotel.
