Warm welcome and friendly, knowledgeable team throughout. Loved the room - brick walls, cool and comfy bed, great shower, and the harbour/sea view (from Valentine) was the icing on the cake. Perfect weather to make the most of the restaurant, semi-al fresco by the open glass doors - enjoyed the food (especially local cod), cocktails and relaxed buzz on a Saturday night. Only a few minutes walk to the beach for a swim before generous breakfast - good coffee and everything delicious, including nice surprises like padron peppers. Headed off for a walk along the harbour arm, crazy golf then to Sandgate and back with art installations dotted along the way. Loved Rocksalt so much, we came back for lunch before heading home. 24 hours felt like a holiday - thank you.

Breakfast and staff at both check in and breakfast were both excellent

The lack of sea view in the room was disappointing. It’s not completely clear when you book that there are some rooms with no sea view. La la room didn’t have a sea view. The room was an excellent (but a little small), bed really comfortable, shower excellent. Sound proofing wasn’t great through door - u could hear everyone coming and going which wakes you up. La la room is also below the family room and when kids are running around although you can’t hear voices it does sound like elephants on the wooden floors.

Great location, super easy check-in, comfy bed, spacious enough for two of us.

Find a 10am check out a little bit early, also this is no slight on the roomsm but we had lunch at the restaurant, and whilst the food was delicious, the lunch it took just under two hours for our mains to arrive, and then for Breakfast this took over an hour despite ordering just granola and some smoked salmon, both of which are pretty quick to cook, and the restaurant was not that busy. As it was only a short weekend stay, we felt this ate into our leisure time slightly.

We have stayed s couple of times in the Rocksalt rooms. They get us right where we want to be. Parking close by. Comfy beds and quiet. We didnt eat in restaurant this time, as I now have shellfish allergy! Boo! Breakfasy]t was excellent, nice hog and granola followed by s nice cooked selection. Coffee is AMAZING. Staff are very jolly and have time for a natter. Room was small, but we knew that when we booked. Shower is more of a wet room and everywhere gets soaked. Ideal for 2 nights. Great walks locally and beach/old train track walk was great after brekky

Everything in bathroom getting soaked, but it’s just funny, nothing to complain about

Lovely decor and comfy bed, lots of coffee and tea. Very clean and tidy. Milk supplied, the breakfast was absolutely superb

Tiny thimble like cups (give us mugs!) and huge kettle that can't be filled from tap, absolutely tiny sink and very tight bathroom which doesn't drain well when using shower. Nowhere to put clothes, not one drawer or storage, just two hangers. No mini fridge and no chair or desk. This is a bed in a room. I felt a lack of privacy too due to so many windows with people walking by and houses closeby opposite.

Amazing views at breakfast on the balcony, and the room decor was lovely. Location was ideal too for the creative quarter and walks around the harbour arm.

The WiFi didn't work in the room (IP configuration issue), and the television wouldn't turn on/change channel quite a lot of the time. It was extremely noisy from 6am with lorries and bin men and people chatting on the street below. Also woken up by banging doors as people came in at 3am. The shower design is confusing, a little note/markings would be great to avoid getting cold water from above as you try to work it out. We had a smelly old bottle of tomato juice and vodka by the teas. Couldn't tell if it was meant to be there or left by previous guests.

Couldn't find any fault with rooms and food. All very good. Great staff. Loved the tom juice and vodka In room. Spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed.

A slight issue that probably was our issue really. We live in a very rural position.. The sound of bin lorrys early in the morning and fish market . Was a little surprising.. I didn't know ice being scraped could be so loud ! How ever we did see the funny side . Especially when the seagulls started to scream 😱

Convenient location, lovely bed linen/towels and tea /coffee facilities. Breakfast was amazing, lovely food and fabulous service. Staff very responsive to turning up heating when needed as weather was very changeable and helping with other arrangements.

Bathroom door did not shut, basin was very low and glass shelf made it a bit hard to use. Lights were not all working and rooms generally were a bit too dark at times.

loved the location by the harbour with some views. great shower and a fabulous breakfast in the Rocksalt restaurant overlooking the bay which was beautiful. a member of the fantastic staff even helped my husband rescue a seagull which was caught on a fish hook in the beach below !!

we found it a little noisy. it was a Saturday night and the nearby pub had karaoke. BUT this was partly my husband’s fault as he insisted on having the large window open (it was very hot). we could have kept it closed and used air con!!
