Room was OK!

Didn't like getting in the lift with other customers and their dogs! Lift very small and used by Staff also. WI-FI very poor. Didn't use Bar or Restaurant as we thought they were very over priced. Lots of nice restaurants in the town. Breakfast very hit & miss. Only 2 staff serving one morning and had to keep asking for things like teaspoons, milk for tea. No Gluten Free bread available on 2 mornings even though it was requested in advance. 1 morning fried eggs sitting on hot plate for over 1 hour. When I mentioned it to the waitress she replied 'We don't always have time to check everything' But isn't that her job to check food is fresh and hot?

We checked in a little early for our two night stay and our suite wasn’t as stated in our booking but this was quickly sorted by reception and we was moved to a different suite which was what we booked. This was due to a mix up between Booking.com and the hotel. The suite was amazing, very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, including a kitchenette and a spa bath in our very large bathroom which was amazing! We slept very well in the large bed both nights. The room was cleaned and restocked by housekeeping the next morning. The hotel decor is lovely, one of the reasons I chose this hotel was due to the more traditional look, both inside and out. Loved the stained glass window on the staircase and the darker decor interior. I also liked the paintings on the staircase, very elegant. We didn’t have the breakfast as we preferred to do our own thing. The hotel is located well near the sea front, the town centre is within walking distance and the hotel is easy to find. Parking is available on site but this is limited. If you don’t get a space you can get a parking permit for street parking from reception, but we didn’t have to do this. We would like to thank the staff for a fantastic stay which we enjoyed.

The staff on arrival and during our stay were attentive, we called for some extra sachets of coffee and milk and these were delivered within five minutes. Upon checking out, the receptionist was a bit curt in her communication, which let the team down a little.

The best location, away from the noise of the amusements, traffic etc. Just a short walk from the lawns along the clifftop with wonderful views of the sea. The suite was at the top of the hotel and clearly had just been refurbished. Lots of space and a feeling of freedom which you don't always get with hotel rooms. There was a separate dressing room, a mini kitchen in the sitting room. So good to have proper glasses, crockery and cutlery. Breakfast was wonderful - all that you would like or need. We would have loved to have stayed an extra night in order to enjoy the room and the location more.

I always like a top sheet. In hot weather the duvet is too much but you do need something. I think nowadays a four star hotel should have a/c or at least ceiling or other fans. If you pay almost £300 for your room you hope to be able to sleep. The pillows were a little pathetic. Costs were clearly cut here!

Very friendly staff! Good and affordable breakfast! Atmosphere of hotel is very comfortable and cosy, amazing old building. Had two double rooms and assume an upgrade for one bedroom - one room was very nice sized, comfortable bed and great bathroom with big shower.

As described above, we had two double rooms - I assume, that we have received an upgrade for one them from a small to a standard double room. How ever, this way Iearned, that the small double room just fits for one person - but even for an adults and an 8 year old, skinny boy, the bed has been far too small (I did not get much sleep in 30cm left for me). I went to the room of the of the other two family members for a shower, since showering in a small bathtub is a little adventure 😉. Both bedrooms were not next to each other, so we had to split into each 1 adult and child per room. Garden seems much bigger pictures than in reality - kids had no opportunity to play in garden.

The staff were so kind and helpful. To be able to take our little Terrier dog with us. It was nice that we had a place to have our breakfast other than the restaurant as we love to have our dog with us most of the time. He would have stayed in the room on his own he is no trouble. Settled in very well. But loves it when he is with us. The bed was comfortable, The bathroom was clean, well stocked . And the room was bright airy and we just loved it. The hotel itself was great , well kept, clean, and the decor was so in keeping with the decade it was built. Ofcause the Modernisation has been done in such a professional manner .. Nothing looked out We arranged to meet some friends at the hotel on our last day and even though we had signed out they were happy to let us entertain them before we went out and then we went back for a drink before we went home. Thank u to all of u. We will be back and have told the family what a great place. .

great location clean and very comfortable room

long queue at reception after a very long journey as receptionist on a phone call and 4 other groups ahead of me with nowhere to sit when eventually seen I was given the wrong key to my room so had to return to reception for correct key receptionist made no apology and after checking screen in front of me handed me another key without as much as a smile let alone apology . in the morning I was asked by staff member about my stay so above feedback was given directly . the morning receptionist was most apologetic and thanked me for the negative feedback which she assured me would be followed up on

Lovely hotel, clean rooms and facilities, the bar was very nice and the cocktails even better! We even had some ordered to our room which was a bonus! We had breakfast included this was a buffet and we thoroughly enjoyed it, All the staff are all very friendly and easy to approach we managed to get parking in the hotel car park but they do have road side parking so not an issue, overall very happy and would definitely stay again.

My only critic would be you can't pay for early check-in. 3pm is the only time you can get in. It's not a major issue but when you have day events on it can clash.

Helpful and welcoming staff. Comfortable bed. Great location for ease of getting to the euroshuttle.

Breakfast started too late for us, we were offered a pack up to take away which we accepted but would have preferred breakfast items e.g croissant and a pot of jam, yoghurt, etc rather than a cheese sandwich. Nowhere on booking did it indicate what time breakfast starts, if I'd have known it was 7am I would have booked room only, this is why I downgraded the mark, value for money, it would have been nice to have been offered a refund for the breakfast.

Dog friendly hotel but as usual with Best Western we could not eat in the restaurant. Not even a tiny part of it. Whilst I could have had a separate table laid up in the bar this detracts from the whole experience and makes me feel very excluded as a traveller. I would like to see the chain think about making just a small part of their restaurant dog friendly for well behaved dogs. Any issues, as with customers can be dealt with if they arise but please do not ban us completely. As a sole traveller, the social part of travelling is very important to my overall experience.

This is our 4th time at the hotel, we love everything about it. It's clean, great location and decent staff and the ooms are huge.

Unfortunately our room was underneath some guests that were a little inconsiderate. They played music from 12 until 3am, and somehow caused a leak in our ceiling which caused a rather nasty puddle on the armchair. Once we reported this to the guy at reception it was all sorted fairly quickly. But all in the stay was rather tarnished due to these things. It's a huge shame as we do adore this hotel.
