Great location. Staff were really good and friendly. So many nice people staying at the hotel including a lovely school party from Denmark here to sightsee and improve their English. Good to see people from all over UK as well. Hotel room was upgraded as well free of charge. Didn't sample the food , ate out. Lots of parking if arrive early in afternoon. Can't complain, excellent price, don't understand some other silly reviews. Will definitely come back.

Nothing really, it was really good. Some refurbishment works ongoing at back, but our room was great, overlooking harbour at front, clean, shower worked fine, tv good.

We got upgraded to a seaview room, and the room was very spacious. Lots of storage so if you staying for a week you would be ok for packing things away. Clean and tidy, TV was good size and tea and coffee making families perfect. Would stay there again.

Was looking forward to using the pool, but wasn't impressed when I found out I had to pay to use it, considering I was an overnight guest of the hotel and had already paid for my room. Also our windows in our room were dirty, and my husband and I had to clean them. The hotel is in the process of being updated, being painted outside and in. Our bathroom had a makeover. The room was very fresh as in recent paint job. So that does need to be taking into account. Little minors we noticed hopefully will be resolved as hotel gets upgraded.

I liked my booked and paid for myself room including as quiet and facilities including with a bright, sea view, the services eg at reception - professional, respectful including of a sole female visitor and helpful, I had registration problems and these helped, and I gave sight of my British passport for identification - and the snacks machine. I had also enquired about a takeaway breakfast around 9am on the departing Friday morning, although I see it starts later in the day and throughout. As my study break alone these helped as I didn't have any social, I had been in the room alone (my mum phoned at least daily thankfully) I didn't go out (previously in October, my third visit t o Folkstone in 2 years, I visited the traditional town centre for a hot takeaway snack and some gifts shopping and a phone chat with my mum on the Saturday afternoon alone. I arrived and departed via taxi alone directly the Tuesday evening (slightly delayed, though apologised) and Friday early afternoon t o and from Folkstone station.

The cost was fantastic, our room was spotless, we had a view overlooking the carpark if you looked down but straight out was a sea view. Reception staff are efficient and friendly, there was a coach trip before us but we were attended to in no time at all. We booked as we planned to watch a band in the Town centre on Friday night, However we went into the bar and stayed the night as the entertainment was great. Good fun laughter and plenty of dancing with my wife when the disco started. WELL DONE TEAM We also stayed in the hotel Saturday night as Friday was so good. Will DEFO BE BACK.

Good location for our needs. However, the weather was poor, so it was difficult to venture outside the hotel due to wind and rain. The room was comfortable, staff friendly, and breakfast was value for money. Not a fan of the £5 per day car parking but it seems common practice now days. Read and viewed poor reviews but I had no real problems while staying for the weekend

Hotel a little dated and there was a smell around the corridors but building work is going, so this maybe the reason. Never a fan for having to pay for car parking when staying at a hotel but seems the norm these days

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the night security person, but also the ladies who wished me to wrap up warm in the morning as it is mid January. The bed was extremely comfortable. Having worked at an event until very late (midnight), I slept peacefully from 1 until 10 without any breaks or interruptions. I must have been very tired, but the room was extremely quiet, there was no light pollution, and the temperature was just right.

The lights were broken in my room on arrival, I didn’t report it initially as there was a massive queue at reception, but when I came back, not only were they aware of it and offered to move me to another room, but they had also fixed it during the 8 hours in which I was out, without me even having to ask.

The room had a wonderful view of the harbour and distant white cliffs, and was comfortable and good value. It's a great location to set off from to walk around the town (there was an art event on), along the harbour arm or to the beach, and there was lots more to explore for a return visit to Folkestone and the fascinating surrounding towns and countryside. We swam in the sea more than once every day! We had a nice buffet meal in the very grand restaurant - the special for the day was great. There was lots of space to sit in the downstairs reception area, bars and ballroom, if you are looking for a social atmosphere.

The view would have been better if visible, with clean windows - we leaned out and cleaned a gap in the grime ourselves, so that we could see the amazing seascape, it was quite funny at the time but actually a bit annoying if you are looking to make a good impression. (Otherwise, internally, the room was very clean).

We booked a Premier double room, and it was clean and comfortable worth the extra price per night as we normally book a normal double room, and the last few times have been left disappointed. Iron and ironing board in the room along with a mini fridge. We were lucky enough to have a balcony with views over the harbour. Location is really everything at The Burstin. It's central for transport links. The beach is literally 2 minutes away. We had breakfast on our checkout day. It was nicely cooked and hot, although for someone like myself that doesn't eat much, it's a bit pricey, but that's not really their fault. That said, there was a good selection of both continental, cereals, fruit and yoghurt and, of course, a full english. Overall, we were happy with our stay and have already booked the next one.

Some of the desk staff were abrupt, towels and rubbish only collected on day 1 of our stay.

We must’ve got extremely lucky as we got one of the best rooms, facing the harbour and sea and was high up. The view was completely unobstructed (some rooms had the view blocked by buildings or constetcion or just poor design) and the windows were massive so could see everything. Breakfast was delicious and cheap. Overall, this was a cheap hotel that felt premium. Great location as well, away from the high street and so no noise pollution, just the sea and nature.

Windows were really dirty from the outside , we had to wipe them ourselves in order to enjoy the view better . Additionally, there seem to be a lot of rooms that aren’t sea view, which would be pointless. On this occasion we got lucky to have the perfect view, but this isn’t guaranteed if we come again and we could be facing a brick wall or something terrible.

Room and staff hotel was fine the breakfast on the other hand way over priced I paid for breakfast on my 3 night stay only went once it was that bad I was told it was bad but I wanted to make my own decision I wished I would of listened. If you love a Fried egg covered in shell soggy sausages aluminous pink bacon watery scrambled egg all at room temperature not hot go for it . But the rest of my stay was perfect great staff very friendly lovely clean sea view room comfortable bed room had everything you can ask for.
