Parking is easy right outside the guest house. I have stayed here before and Sarah and Jim always make me feel welcome. I had a room at the front and it was quiet. The breakfast selection is always very good. I had a tasty fried breakfast, toast, orange juice and delicious coffee every day of my stay (3 nights). The location is very good not far from town centre and beaches nearby too. Bathroom is clean, shower is hot and good. Dressing gown, clean towels, hairdryer, kettle etc in room. Travelled solo and felt totally safe here. Nothing is too much trouble for Sarah. Thank you 😊 x

Absolutely lovely owners who couldn’t have been more helpful and were so sweet with my dog - even having dog treats on my breakfast table! I also appreciated that they were able to save a space for my car directly in front of the property, though there was also plenty of on-street parking. Location was easy access to the coast for a last walk before heading to the Eurotunnel terminal, also close. Many thanks to the owners for their hard work in offering comfortable dog-friendly accommodation!

The owners were exceptionally helpful, friendly and welcoming (our dog loved them). Great place to stay with a dog. We had a room that opened up onto the garden which was ideal for us. Breakfast was wonderful (even my poached egg was perfect). The location was also ideal for catching the shuttle and we would definitely stay here again.

The shower room could do with a little tlc. ; the sliding door was very shaky. However it did not impact on our stay at all.

Comfy room, pillows a little on the hard side for me but bed was comfy. Room larger than expected with plenty of storage, tea and coffe provided too Owners friendly and nothing too much trouble. I asked to keep my car in its parking space outside once I had checked out as I was attending a funeral. Not a problem.

Couldn't fill kettle from sink in the room as the kettle didn't fit under the tap properly, so had to use the bathroom one down the corridor. Mirror's on the slanting wall above the sink are a little disconcerting as you don't get a proper view of yourself! Better taken off and maybe put on the back of the bedroom door. Woke up cold but there was a spare blanket. Heating wasn't on as went off at 10 and came on at 6 so presumably they saving it during the current climate which is understandable . Breakfast could have had more hot alternatives but was ok and they provide toast and cereal etc too.. Overall a nice little place 🙂

A very nice breakfast made with quality food. There was plenty to eat and drink. Our host was very nice and friendly. We had excellent service especially as we had difficulties getting to the guest house within a set time. Sarah was very helpful making time to ensure everything was sorted with no problems.

I would have liked a larger quilt, perhaps a slightly higher tog rating as it did not stay on me during the night. I am a restless sleeper when not at home.

An absolutely adorable guest house. If, like me, you're tired of sterile, characterless chain hotels and fancy something more traditional with a family feeling, you'll love the Rob Roy Guest House. Super friendly owners, Sarah and Jim did their utmost to guarantee a memorable and enjoyable stay. Our dog, Mina, gave the guest house Four Paws of Approval. The bed was comfortable, the bedroom was clean and the breakfast was tasty. Truly a lovely way to start our holiday. Thank you!

Sarah and Jim are exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble. I stayed in room 8 with my dog. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, jams and toast for my outward Journey to Calais as I had an early checkout, however was more than adequate for my needs. On my return journey I had a full English cooked breakfast due to later checkout. I can honestly say Sarah and Jim are so friendly and helpful and will definitely stay again.

Great breakfast, good value, friendly hosts, clean room, good WiFi, easy parking, selection of takeaways and Tesco nearby. Accommodated my dog. Proximity to Dover allowed me to avoid the travel chaos on the day I stayed. (French strike, closure of M20... I would not have made it back to Cologne!)

Shared bathroom, but given the price, that was acceptable.

A warm welcome at great location for us, easy to access & an easy 15 minute walk from the town centre & harbour areas.

Nothing, but do ask for extra blankets if you feel the cold, as we didn’t find the duvets that warm (& we accept that it’s entirely our own fault for not asking for the extra blankets that we were told were available when we arrived).

I honestly think this place was a bit overpriced. Cleanliness was not perfect and everything was a bit outdated. Two weeks later, we stayed at another hotel at the west of Folkestone (nicer area) and had a really better experience for a lower price.
