I travel a lot and this is one of the best hotels/inns I've been to. It's an old house, and it looks like it, but it is by no means dirty or otherwise uncomfortable in the rooms. The pub downstairs is a nice atmosphere, and one needs to expect the noise, but I didn't mind them. The service is impeccable. I have rarely seen staff that is this friendly, considerate, and caring. I would give 11 of 10 points for them, if I could. The location in the village is a nice one, I just warn everyone to take the bus up, because walking, especially with luggage, will be a task for sure. Overall, this was a great experience, and I see myself returning when I visit Heptonstall again.

We loved the location and history of The Cross Inn, beautiful village. Room was lovely and clean with everything required for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was lovely and well cooked, We slept really well here, which i struggle with away from home. Food (Thai) on the evening was excellent, beautiful flavours. Linda the chef was so kind and friendly, a truly lovely human and her daughter was a very good waitress. We were made to feel very welcome. All staff were excellent. Thank you for been wonderful hosts.
Personally was nothing i disliked about The Cross Inn

This is a fab place to stay. We had a twin room and the beds were very comfortable. The sheets and towels were clean and white. There was tea and coffee available in the rooms and soap and shower gel was also provided. Do not be put off because it’s in a pub. They stop serving at 11 and we heard no noise in our room. Breakfast was great with a range of yogurt, cereal and fruit available. We also had a lovely cooked breakfast that was not advertised. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the area.
The only thing is that it is a bit far to walk back from Hebden Bridge. It’s down bank into town but obviously uphill back. It may be ok if you are fit but alas I am not. Other than that this is a fab place to stay

This wonderful inn is located on a picturesque hill in a historic town, and is a rare gem of an establishment, highly recommended for it's timeless sincerity, friendly atmosphere and hospitality, exquisitely prepared Thai cuisine, and comfortable rooms. While I could have had a cooked breakfast (which would have been undoubtably fantastic), I chose the continental breakfast as I had fully enjoyed a phanaeng curry the night before. The curry was *outstanding*, easily some of the best Thai food I have had. The continental is in no way equivalent to your commercial equivalent, offering an wide selection of fresh fruit and milks, breads, cereals, yogurts, and juices that you might have at home.
Nothing. A wonderfully friendly crew and experience. I'll definitely go out of my way to return. Thanks for a great experience! :)

Wonderful location, highly recommend staying here for it's lovely views, great walks and it's proximity to Hebdon Bridge if you want a little more choice of bars/restaurants. Cab fare £6 to Hebdon. Heptonstall is lovely and peaceful surrounded by some great wildlife. There is a wonderful tea/coffee shop selling some luscious cakes..well worth a visit. The other pub in this village has a real open fire and serves Sunday Lunch. The Cross Inn is run by a very hospitable Thai lady who cooked us the most wonderful full English breakfast.
We were very tired after a full day out in the fresh air, so we opted for an early night. The noise from the bar and people moving around was fairly loud and wasn't great when we just wanted to sleep. Having said that the noise did stop just after midnight.

Cozy country pub plenty atmosphere. Evening food was excellent. It is further away from hebden bridge than you think but can get a bus or taxi.
Breakfast cooked to order but unfortunately it was cold. No one checked we was in the breakfast room and ready for it so I suspect it had been standing waiting to be served. Also only coffee in room no tea bags. There was a 50th birthday party on nearly didn't get a table. Could have been better communication from the owners asking did we need a reservation

Very cozy place in the heart of Heptonstall. I got the single room, it was beautifully decorated and had everything I needed, including a sweet welcoming tray of goodies. Jill made sure I was comfortable and was very sweet and friendly. The food at the restaurant is great and has also some vegan options. The inn is also a pub at night, which brings a very lively atmosphere to the place. I had a lovely stay.

Our room was very nice, really clean and the continental breakfast was good. Linda was really friendly and welcoming and there was a nice atmosphere in the pub. The menu was Thai food which we enjoyed.
The location showed Hebden Bridge and it's actually in Heptonstall which is higher up. This wasn't a problem for us as we like walking but for someone with mobility issues this would be a problem. There is however a regular bus to and from Hebden Bridge but it should be clearer on the search I think.

Made to feel welcome by all the staff at the Cross. Stayed in the Sylvia Plath suite, which has comfortable beds, a modern well-fitted bathroom, warm radiator and ample hot drinks available. I had the cooked breakfast which was made to order and very tasty. Lots of other choices available. I also enjoyed a few drinks at the Cross, there's a small quiet courtyard out the back for smokers. For anyone visiting Heptonstall the Cross is an ideal place to stay.

The staff were really friendly. The location was good. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was large and comfortable.
The bedroom was next to the kitchen which meant that it could be noisy with people talking and coming back and forth (often sounded like they were coming in the room but they weren't), however no cooking smells in the room so clearly a good extraction system. This was only an issue during normal waking hours, not overnight and not outside the range of noise you'd expect being above a pub, in fact there was very little "pub noise" which was a pleasant surprise.
