BREAKFAST WAS LOVELY, we did try to book in about half an hour before the 3pm, the guy who greeted us wasn't very helpful, didn't seem to know what he was doing, although when we went back again he did show us to our room. A nice big room and although there was a lot of people below drinking and eating ice cream the double glazing kept the noise out

The initial greeting wasn't great as noted above, they didn't seem to have my reservation for the evening meal, however we did say that this wasn't required now.

We spent 2 nights here for the Bank Holiday weekend. The location is fantastic - as the name suggests, it's right next to the river! There's some beautiful scenery and walks all on the doorstep! There's a lovely park too - clearly a very popular spot. Only a short walk into the town centre, where we visited the Box Tree restaurant for our special anniversary meal, and Betty's the next day for Afternoon Tea! We walked up to the Cow and Calf on our last day and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ilkley. We were fuelled by a wonderful breakfast - all cooked to order - full English, but there were cereals, toast and porridge too. Our room had everything we needed, and I was brought an iron and board as soon as I asked (there was already a hairdryer, so I needn't have brought my own) Comfortable bed, towels were changed, and there were lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Overall we were really pleased with our choice, and it's a great spot to do all the touristy things when staying in Ilkley.

You have to be prepared for steps up to the room - not an issue for us , but maybe for some?

Fantastic location right on the riverside, perfect for strolls along the river and into Ilkley. We were starting the Dales Way so it could not have been a better location. Food was nice and reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. They organised a packed lunch and filled our flasks for our walk all for just £7.50. Bed was comfortable, our room was quiet and breakfast was delicious. We both slept well.

Decor was a mix of 'bling' and old fashioned - rooms could do with a refresh

Lovely little hotel - its smaller size made it so friendly. Fantastic location by the river AND near to Ilkley Station / city centre. The room was very pleasant: regularly cleaned (and rearranged to check-in standards), great bathroom ensuite arrangement, TV - and a cute kettle with a generous supply of Yorkshire Tea, etc! The breakfasts were marvellous - all delightfully sorted by Kristine who has been there for 52 years. I'll definitely be returning to stay for my annual visits to Ilkley.

I genuinely can't think of anything I didn't like. The park/river location made it perfect.

A really friendly relaxed atmosphere in the hotel with excellent food on the premises and lovely proprietor. Award winning fish and chips - and they really were worthy of it. Really convenient for walking to anywhere in the town, via lovely riverside open green area. We parked the car on arrival and never moved it until we left to go home. We had no children with us, but really good facilities for children of all ages to play in the area along the riverbank. A really family and dog friendly town. Beautiful further riverside walks on the other side, via several easily reached bridges. The town has real shops and a myriad of great places to eat, be it for dinner or coffee and lovely cakes.

Can't think of anything at all that could have been better.

The hotel is easy to find and in a lovely location overlooking the river and park. Onsite free parking a bonus. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who served our meals, which were really good and reasonably priced. The hotel is ideally situated for both walking along the river bank or moors, or a 5 minute stroll into the town.

Nothing bad/negative to say about the hotel or Ilkley.

The staff were lovely and the location is also very nice and peaceful. Ideal for kids as there is a big play area attached to the hotel. The food is very nice and a reasonable price.

The plug sockets are very close to the floor which makes plugging things in difficult. Providing double adapters to help with this would be good. The beds are ok but the mattress had a dip in it, could do with replacing.

Location- could not be better for visit to Ilkley. Very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble. Super breakfast. Room comfy, bathroom small but perfectly adequate. Comfy bed. A bit noisy outside later on, but hotel is adjacent to park and river, so not surprising and not unduly troublesome. Would go straight back there if in the area!

Some problems with the tv reception. This was reported and “fixed”, but continued to have problems the next day. A temperamental tv!!! However, a small niggle which did not affect our enjoyable 3 night stay.

Great location. Lovely river walk from the hotel and plenty of green spaces. Town centre is only 15 minutes walk with good amenities and plenty of places to eat. The hotel restuarant served good pub food and there is an Al fresco area just by the river. The staff friendly and very helpful. English breakfast served - very good. Porridge is available too. No continental options.

Room decor tired. Could do with updating and refurbishment in general. But had all the basic requirements to make it a comfortable stay and it was also clean.

I loved it all. I loved the Ilkley Riverside Hotel. I loved the gardens. I loved the owner. I loved the staff. I loved the river. I loved the people. I loved the dogs walking past. I loved the ducks on the river. I loved the Yorkshire Roast Pork on Sunday. It was the most amazing and loveable place I saw in England. I will absolutely rave about this place until the day I die. There is no place like this on earth. I found it to be absolutely perfect. It suited all of my needs. I have not one complaint about anything. This place is absolutely magical. Thank-you so much to the owner and all the staff.

The room is a little small compared to what we are used to in Australia. I also will mention that these rooms have no bar fridge like we are accustomed to in Australia. So this is not a complaint per se, just a general comparison of what we are used to in our home country.
