Rooms are up several sets of stairs, on the plus side there's no noise from the downstairs pub (they have music on Thursdays). There's a second exit to the rear car-park, although the hotel has only 4 spaces it backs onto the large North Parade car park. The location is close by the river which has a nice bank-side walk and it's within walking distance of everything else in Otley. The cooked breakfast was fine and the range of beers and ales in the bar was good. It's the sort of pub you'd expect to be popular with CAMRA members. Rooms are comfortable but quite small, from memory there's 4 in what seems to be loft conversion. My room was shower only via an instant electric heater which was actually OK. Other facilities in the room were fine, with a small desk, kettle, wardrobe etc. All in all, I thought decent value and really nothing startling to complain about.

I can't comment on the dinner as the chef was on maternity leave and evening meals were 'off'. An annoyance was the room doors are on automatic closers, probably for fire regs, and other guests did let them slam shut. I'm sure closers can be adjusted so avoid that! WiFi was OK, but they were having some problems when I was there, maybe linked to the till not accepting credit cards. I paid via booking.com to resolve that.

This is a lovely wee place! Check in process was easy and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. The room was cozy but also light and airy. Comfy bed and plenty of pillows. The shower was good and I loved the Fine Scottish Soaps toiletries - a nice touch. Breakfast was good. Just a note: the car park is IN the beer garden, not the big Otley Parade car park - this is charged as one of the staff helpfully pointed out to me.

You can hear a lot of noise from the corridor which isn’t great if you want a lie in. The guests beside me must have slammed their door about ten times first thing in the morning - when I was trying to sleep off my hangover…

Lovely cooked English breakfast, great location, free parking, very nice typical Yorkshire pub with a variety of real ales. Our room was perfectly adequate with coffee/tea making facilities,towels and toiletries supplied. The Pub is centrally located with restaurants and other pubs nearby, and a short distance from Chevin hill and the river parks, great for walks. All the pubs appeared to be dog friendly as well as walker friendly. But what really made the stay memorable was the staff. Cannot praise the staff highly enough, very polite and attentive, went out of their way to help. A credit to the pub.

Shower was a bit small.

The room was light, airy and clean. The variety in the size of the towels provided was appreciated, and it was great to know that we could have extra drink supplies if we wanted some- a lot of places are strict about that and only provide a limited amount. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

It wasn't too big an issue, but not having a lift to the rooms made it a little trickier to move our luggage and handle our baby at the same time. We adapted, but I feel that it could potentially be a problem for some families.

The room was nice and spacious. Very comfortable. Situated in the right area.

On arrival, we had to wait a fair time for reception to deal with us. Online, it states there were evening meals, but they were not available. They were not forthcoming with the breakfast suggestions, i.e. I didn't know where to get the cereals. Some of the cooked breakfast was a bit overdone. The shower door in the room was broken. There wasn't any Wi-fi.

We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning. Lovely room, comfortable bed, hot shower, hairdryer provided and tray of tea, coffee and biscuits as well as bottled water. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very tasty breakfast, especially the veggie option. Non dairy milk provided on request which I was very grateful for. Great location meant we could park up and walk everywhere. Close to the river and park area where we enjoyed morning walks. The room was quiet, even with loud music down in the bar there was no sound in the room.

We didn't have anything we didn't like. There were a few niggles such as a slanting shelf above the bathroom sink and in the shower but these weren't real negatives.

The Horse and Farrier is in the lovely market town of Otley, close to all amenities, everything is within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast set me up for the day. My room was very clean and quiet, overlooking the back of the property.

They couldn't provide evenings meals at the time of my stay but there are several restaurants in the town.

Bed very comfy. Room well decorated and equipped. Breakfast - a good choice. Freshly cooked to order. All the staff were really helpful. Was able to park in the free pub car park, located up a narrow road just beyond the Courthouse.

The only thing I did not like was if you come back after 11pm you have to enter via the fire exit outer staircase through the back ( car park) entrance. This door is left open/not locked.

The property was very clean and tidy. Love that they have so many different drinks on draft. All the staff were amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious with tea and coffee facilities. We had a room on the front of the property and we were concerned about road noise. Fortunately we couldn’t hear anything. Brilliant location with lots of cafes, shops etc all within walking distance. We would definitely return.

There was just one issue, the bed wasn’t comfortable.

The pub only provided breakfast as their chef was on maternity leave. The young staff were pleasant and helpful. There are only 4 guest rooms which are modern and well appointed. The only downside is that they are on the second floor and not suitable for anyone who cannot manage 2 flights of stairs.

With no evening catering the pub was rather quiet.
