This was our 3rd stay at the Broadcroft in a year as we have family who now live in Kirkintilloch. The staff here are outstanding. We frequently stay in 4 or 5 star hotels in Scotland and the staff at the Broadcroft are without doubt the best trained, professional and welcoming. The rooms are small but super clean. The shower room is excellent.

Double beds ( but rooms are not big enough to accommodate King size) with uncomfortable mattress Breakfast used to be better when it was freshly made. Now it is all buffet style. Haggis, black pudding and sausage were very good. Catering scrambled eggs and mushrooms awful. Toasting machine, as with all hotels, 1 go is not enough, 2 goes burnt! Also, my pet hate- cheap tomato ketchup. I did see someone asking for and getting a mini jar of the real stuff, but the ketchup in the bowls beside the buffet was bad. Note to all hotels and caterers - cheap ketchup can ruin the best cooked food. IT HAS TO BE HEINZ!!

Third Time I have stayed here and I don’t think it will be the last. I have family nearby that cannot accommodate me so this is a great choice. The restaurant and bar have great food at very reasonable prices alongside friendly staff. I said to my Wife that the hotel is becoming like a home for me.

The stairs to the room can take it out of an old man like me at times. And the water sometimes can take a while to get to a hot temperature or lose it completely leaving you with a cold shower when you don’t want one(which perhaps isn’t a bad thing) lol

Everything from the ease of parking to the friendliness of the lady on reception, hotel had a contemporary feel about it with a very relaxed atmosphere and ambient background music, room was very clean and comfortable, shower/s in room was awesome, checked in late and had tea and a few drinks before bed for work next day …. Asked reception where we could buy some biscuits to have with a coffee and the lady on reception said she could find us some biscuits in the back to only fetch myself and colleague a full tray of biscuits out. Slept great and completed our installation in the town to return to the hotel where we both had a lovely cooked Scottish breakfast.

Nothing to dislike here at all

I wish I could give 20/10 rating. We have discovered the hotel by accident while slowly making our way home to the north of Scotland. We decided to make the most of the good weather we've had so little this year. We made a last minute booking and when we arrived short while later we were welcomed by a lovely, cheerful lady who made a very good first impression. We've gone up to check out the room, which some might find small, but there is nothing to complain for the price you pay. Even if you might find the room a bit small, what definitely makes up for it is the shower. Very spacious, great water pressure, honestly one of the best showers we've ever had at a hotel. Make sure you eat there as well. The food is to die for. They asked us upon check in if we wanted to book a table, but we weren't sure what our plans were at the time. We ended up staying at the hotel for a few drinks and then decided that the smell coming from the kitchen is very appealing and it was worth giving it a go. We managed to get a table but I'd say it is worth booking in advance as it did get pretty busy. Again, we were taken care of by a charming gentleman, who went above and beyond to make sure we were well fed and 'hydrated' ;) The food was amazing. Menu is big and I nelieve even the most picky eaters would find something for themselves. We've had soup of the day, french onion soup (probably the best I've ever had), for main we both had fillet steak - melting in you mouth with a side of sticky cauliflower, make sure you give that one a go, it was delicious. And to top it all off pina colada creme brulee and sticky toffee sundae. All truly enjoyable with a friendly service with a smile. After a very comfortable night sleep, we came down for breakfast. It's true what they say, breakfast is the most important meal in a hotel, as this is what you experience last before departure. And oh man, this one didn't disappoint.

Very modern and clean. Good location for the town.

My room was window less (or internal with air conditioning as the hotel described it). I was never told this when booking online or at reception when I checked in. It was only when I got to the room that I found out. When I went back to reception I was told there were no window rooms available and I should be grateful for the air conditioning because of the heat. I believe that fact that there was no window was deliberately kept from me until after I had paid for the room, and the receptionist's remarks were not at all helpful. I doubt if I would use the hotel again because of the receptionist's attitude, which is a pity as the rest of the hotel was good.

Hotel and staff were fantastic. We attended the wedding and it was honestly one of the best weddings we’ve attended. The food was outstanding and far exceeded our expectations. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was also good! We’d stay again and highly recommend to others.

Parking was limited, we had to park across the street. Room was noisy from the wedding. Which we were advised about upon arrival. It didn’t bother us as we were part of the wedding party. After the wedding finished it was really quiet. These are just minor observations as we generally really enjoyed our stay.

The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

To be honest the facilities were very good. While I knew that the room was on an upper floor and that there was no lift I was not expecting five flights of stairs, two quite short flights and two a bit more with the last one bigger and quite steep. I only had an overnight case and at first I did not accept the offer of help from the receptionist but gave in and when I saw the stairs was really glad that I did as at my age I would have struggled. Overall the staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The room was excellent and the food (dinner and breakfast) were absolutely outstanding and represented outstanding value for money, in my opinion.

The only slight disappointment was the WiFi - there is WiFi at the hotel but my sensitive company owned laptop would not accept using it because it was an "unsecure" network ! It is also one of those annoying WiFi networks that is managed by a third party and requires all sorts of details from you rather than a simple "log in and go" network that most places have. That is the only niggle about this otherwise excellent hotel which I could not fault in any other way.

The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast was good and not too busy. Staff were friendly and helpful everywhere in the hotel.

Parking. Rooms are a bit small, but fine if you are just staying one night. We did try to check in a bit earlier, as we were attending a wedding there. We thought it would be nice to check in and just chill before the ceremony. But when we called you regarding this we were going to be charged extra for this. We weren't going to pay the extra as it we were paying enough as it was for the room.
