The food, wine and service were generally excellent

Spa treatments were very good indeed but expensive. A little more choice on the drinks menu around the pool would be nice - for example Aperol Spritz would be a welcome addition. Also it would be better if the used and dirty plates and glasses around the pool were cleared throughout the day.

The location is absolutely magical - gorgeous grounds, beach nearby, woods for a walk. The spa was brilliant too, we had a lovely time using the pools (kids and adults) indoors and outdoors. We also loved the games facilities - croquet on the lawn, darts and snooker in the basement games room. The room was perfectly comfortable.

I thought the restaurant was incredibly overpriced for what they serve... £17 or so for a kids lunchtime fish finger meal, which was served with a grand total of five chips. This seems to be the general consensus among the other guests I spoke to who advised eating instead at the pub a short walk through the woods, which we did for dinner.

Very nice staff at reception and in the restaurant. Spacious room, lovely items left for our doggie. He felt very welcomed. Beautiful buildings and grounds, close walk to the beach, room was good size amd cleaned every day, breakfast was nice although twice the poached eggs were hard boiled. We would have enjoyed the hotel more if it had been more child friendly. Clearly it's set up as an adult hotel.

It's very clearly a members spa club. There are kids hours but kids don't feel welcome in the pool area at all. I could literally feel the disapproval from the other guests / members in the pool area. I had a very mature well behaved 11yr old with me. If we're paying nearly £400 a night then it would be nice if the Spa / Pool / Gym was more welcoming to children over the age of 8yrs old. The dinner menu had almost nothing a child would eat and seemed quite expensive. We had to go to other places after the first night. It's dog friendly but not child friendly in our opinion.

The hotel is beautiful and has a very calm atmosphere. The rooms were the right balance between luxurious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful and were able to accommodate all of our needs, including dietary variations to the set menu. We were very impressed by the standard of service throughout the hotel, including the spa.

We were happy with all aspects of our stay and would change very little about the hotel - probably the only thing we thought might be useful is some gravel on the beach path as it was very muddy so we weren't able to walk to the beach!

Beautiful spa and perfect to escape for some relaxation and time out! Staff extremely friendly and helpful and so much to do in the local area - lovely long walks. Spa is beautiful and relaxing, a beautiful place to stay and would definitely return :)

Menu option for Vegetarians poor for a high end place as would have hoped for and options on menu not great if staying for a few days. Spa is beautiful and relaxing, I had a massage but didn’t value for the price - I was very cold during the treatment, couldn’t go to the relaxation room after as it was full and pressure not as firm as requested

Beautiful room, pools and proximity to the coast. Food, fabulous as ever. Attentive staff on the whole.

Had to wait 25 minutes after being seated for dinner to be asked about drinks. Apparently they were very busy. Staff member didn't initially apologise, so perhaps this relates to training but other staff were delightful, so she might have been having an off day. Not a dislike, but it would have been nice to have a magnifying small mirror in the bathroom as the lighting was poor.

the grounds were fantastic. The hotel was superb, I enjoyed a swim in your lovely pool. The evening meal was very good indeed. It was quiet and peaceful. The food and service were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. I would recommend a stay.

However, my friend has dementia and after one night he couldn't cope and we had to cancel our second night, unfortunately. Baiiffscourt said they would refund, but as we booked through BOOKING.COM they couldn't help. I can't get help from them Please help us out, as John is distressed I missed (his carer) one day/evening and he now feels awful- but he panicked. I didn't realise how bad he had got until he got out of his comfort zone. None of that is your fault- the staff were lovely. If you can help= it would be appreciated.

Excellent breakfast and varied choice and interesting dinner menu staff were friendly throughout the hotel and accommodation roomy and decor designed with good taste. Surroundings quiet and peaceful an ideal location for a weekend retreat Spa and swimming facilities excellent both indoors and out

Drinks rather over priced and first night there requesting a glass of rose was told they only sold it by the bottle but on looking at the wine list the following night they did indeed have this by the glass so misinformed

Lovely location and beautiful place. Excellent room and accommodation. Food was superb and the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Spa was very disappointing. We were unable to access the sauna and steam room as well as the outdoor jacccuzi as these were being renovated. There was only a small gym and swimming pool available which was generally busy with many retired adults. Minimal seating meant we were unable to always find a place to sit.
