Warm comfortable room and beds. Good tv and ample tea and coffee making facilities. Separate coded key entrances to bedrooms from pub entrance so able to come and go at leisure.

Towels not changed for clean ones even though left in bath as requested on notice nor were rubbish bins emptied overnight in room or bathroom. Seemed like very little or no housekeeping of room evident. Most importantly rubber seal on shower screen missing so water from shower came straight out underneath onto bathroom floor and no safety slip mat or grab rail in shower.

It was such a lovely little pub/hotel to stay in. The staff were all so welcoming and happy to help you. Parking was really good and ample of it behind the pub itself. Lovely location to the rover and lots of walks.

The room we were in was very very hot! I nicknamed it "hot-box room no.9" so it you are a warm blooded person. Try and steer clear of this room. Even the staff said for some strange reason it's the hottest room

I was initially allocated a room at the back but asked to be moved as it overlooked the kitchen. I asked to move and was very pleased to be given a river view room! Lovely rooms with nice clean bathrooms. Great to go for a walk up the river to the lock and beyond. Food and drink good but note issue below.

I arrived at 7pm to be told that dinner service was stopping early at 7pm. I quickly rushed an order in but would have preferred to be a bit more relaxed! Would have been good to be notified of this.

Breakfast buffet had good cereal, juice, pastries and toast selections. Could have included yoghurt and fruit. Hot breakfast choices were off the menu, and good choices. Dinner meals were good, and nice to have a drink outside on the terrace overlooking the River Trent. Small fan in room, and staff brought the iron to us to keep for the stay. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Good parking available, and good security with access code to get in.

Larger fan or Air-conditioning for summer. Lots of stairs to rooms. Apparently haunted in room next to us, we didn't see anything. Small tv for the size of the room.

The breakfast was very good both days.We got just what we asked for on both mornings. The room was the one that we had the previous visit. Although it is a little dated it was always clean and tidy when we went back to it.The bed was very comfortable ,there was everything there that you could need for a two night stay. The view from the window was very good (across the river trent). The only downside if there was one was the service from the kitchen was a little slow on the Friday night but hotel was busy and the food when it came was very good.

Nothing.

The location, the river, the view from the bedroom was absolutely amazing. The food was really good, the dinner and the breakfast as well. The bed was huge and very comfortable. It was well worth it. It was good to have a bar and a restaurant on site, didn't have to go anywhere to drink or eat.

The price for a pint of cider was a bit much, although it was very tasty.

The room was fantastic. Comfortable bed and a stunning view of the nearby river Trent. The bar was fantastic too with friendly staff. Also the on-site car park was secure, with cameras. Very handy for me when travelling for work.

No complaints here. I was very happy. Fantastic value for money.

The room was HUGE! We had a beautiful view of the lock/river! The facilities were good, we ate in the restaurant where the staff were friendly and the meals were delicious!

When we came to check out there was not a single staff member in sight! We were told breakfast started at 7 and we came to check out at around 7:06 so we expected staff to be there but there wasn’t! The bathroom was very basic with a broken soap dispenser and the carpet in the bedroom was very worn!!

Mostly everything. Staff fantastic after a couple of days felt like family.

Boiler shorted so no heating. Explained to staff! Who were unaware, so reset and problem solved. Communication was the best answer to any pro lem fantastic stay. Recommended for people who like walks! The river is scenic and tranquil for a leisurely stroll. The pub is fantastic to meet and talk about your family activities and your common dog activities then have a drink or lunch. A really nice community family pub. Will return even though we live under an hour away. Felt we were really welcomed and enjoyed ourselves! 😎😎😎😎

Location beside the river was picturesque and peaceful. Pub downstairs for meals. Comfortable bed. Very clean and tidy. Biscuits and fresh tea and milk and towels topped up every day by maid service. Hotel was only a short drive from Newark Showground which was out reason for being in the area.

We wanted a breakfast before starting out for home but the kitchen could only offer continental at the present time. Not sure why.
