Lovely property in its own gardens. Plenty of parking and a very good breakfast. Easy to get to. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Originally given a very tired twin room that looked nothing like the pictures on the website. Bathroom was almost in a cupboard with the sink in the room. However the staff were lovely and moved us to a better room which was spacious with a good sized bathroom. However I did notice skirting boards had not been cleaned for a while in the bathroom and there were cobwebs on a lot of the light fixtures.

The hotel although close to a main route and the motorway is tucked away in woodland and is beautifully peaceful. All of the public areas in the hotel are beautifully finished and well looked after. The pool is an absolute bonus! My room was small but comfy and both bed and pillows were comfortable. I didn't stay for breakfast as I was up and out very early but it was included in my room rate. Staff were pleasant and efficient on both check in and check out. A real little find, I would definitely stay again

The ensuite shower was tiny and a little difficult to negotiate! My evening meal was a little disappointing - I went for a vegetarian option - sadly it was a little tasteless

We stayed in a classic double (No 41) with our dog- room was beautiful and nice and big- view over the gardens. Food in the restaurant at dinner was amazing- would highly recommend eating there in the evening. Lots of places to walk and a really lovely pub just up the road- The Coach and horse Around the hotel we went for some lovely walks & saw some wild horse. staff were all really friendly

Service in the bar and restaurant was very slow at time- Seemed quite short staffed some areas could do with a really good dust- its not dirty but dusty. extractor fans in our bathroom.

the Politness & profesionalism of the staff was exceptional, although we only had breakfast during our stay the food was expertly prepared and presented. WIFI reception was generally good in most areas of the hotel(no reception at all in the orangie)

The approach drive had two massive potholes marked with cones, this meant an off road excursion to avoid them, with a little effort they could have been filled with an aggregate as a temporary repair. There was no information package in the the room, a little knowledge on the hotel facilites and its history would have made us feel a lot more welcome. the TV is dated and the remote control is a one4all, that means you can't use the prog guide or change channel easily, an upgrade to smart tv's would compliment the rest of the hotels facilites

Pool was excellent and we had difficulty getting our four-year-old granddaughter to leave. Towels kept running out, but were replenished promptly when staff were told. Excellent food at breakfast and dinner. Well kept grounds. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice location.

Plumbing in all three rooms was not up to standard. Low pressure in shower of one room, leaky shower hose in second room - not what you want first thing in the morning. Third room was a disaster because when the sink was emptied the shower tray overflowed and flooded the floor. Thankfully they switched it for a better room. Wi-Fi signal was non-existent in rooms at the front of the hotel and in the dining room. There is no mobile signal, so could not use data. Wi-Fi signal was good in lounge, but there is no excuse for a poor signal these days.

Lovely location, hotel staff are friendly, hotel is comfortable and has a really pleasant atmosphere. Evening meal was delicious!

Only downside, we were not warned about a wedding taking place, so the hotel was a bit taken over, and the evening noise from the guests was not great (a lot of very loud swearing). However, that being said, it was not the hotels fault but the guests.

Staff were absolutely lovely, food in the restaurant was great (especially dinner which was outstanding). Had a lovely swim in the pool (it is heated). Close to everything but, still secluded. Bed was very comfortable in the lovely four poster room. Big thanks to Matthew for being so kind and showing me around.

No problems at all! Will be staying again

Hotel was excellent overall. Great location feels like you are a million miles away from civilisation yet only a 2 mini drive to the main A road. Facilities were very good, swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Breakfast was perfect for myself and plant based girlfriend, and the evening meals were expensive but more every penny. The most dog friendly hotel I was seen and clean as a whistle.

The address does not take you exactly to the property to bear that in mind. Some not all of the staff seemed like the weight of the world was on their shoulders.

The hotel was beautiful, the grounds were stunning, great parking and the rooms where lovely. Very comfortable stay. We had fans as it was so warm, a bed guard for our toddler and a huge bed for us 2 grown ups. The pool was perfect for us, extra towels provided for a swim, lovely clean changing area and pool side and our children had endless hours of fun!

I personally think the breakfast is quite over priced for what you get.

Convenient location not far from the motorway. Beautiful setting. Lovely room, with a view over the terrace & garden. Friendly staff. Tasty breakfast. Lots of free parking. Historic building with lots of wonderful architectural features.

I would have like to have an information folder in the room. Something with a menu of the restaurant, some things to do in the area, information about the historic house…
