The staff was excellent-- during a very busy weekend, they were friendly and accommodating and genuinely wanted to make my stay a good one. I also liked the location, as the Selina is *not* in front of the "Main Sands," but in front of Walpole Bay, which is much calmer and, I think, prettier. It was still not far from the main part of the town, though, definitely within walking distance, and a *very* short cab ride to the train station.

One thing I would mention is that during the summer months it can get quite warm, so if you are staying in July or August, you might want to try and get a room as low to the ground-floor as possible. Additionally, If I were to return, I wouldn't add breakfast to my reservation because the selection was pretty simple and I ended up getting a "second breakfast" in town, anyway.

The staff is so kind and helpful! The lobby is beautiful and big. Great space to hang out or do remote work. They even offer free water. You can leave your luggage if you arrive early. The rooms/beds are clean and spacious, there's curtains for privacy 👍 I will definitely come back next time I'm in Margate

It was a bit uncomfortable having older men in my room, walking around in their underwear and asking personal questions... So next time I'll take an all girls room (if that's available). The bathroom was a bit small/outdated. There was a lot of delay on my breakfast. The location was a bit further than I thought.

Without exception the managing and housekeeping staff were helpful, efficient and professional. It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The location has uninterrupted panoramic views of the sea. The cappuccino and toasted cheese sandwiches were excellent. The walks along the cliff top and down on the beach are just a few steps away. It is about a 10 minute walk to Margate Old Town with the cafes and restaurants. Street parking at the hotel was ample and free (April). My room and ensuite were both a good size and very comfortable with quality bedding and linen

Love the sea view, the big tall ceilings, the communal space is comfortable. The staff are always lovely and helpful. You must love dogs, as we do.

Unfortunately for us we went just after a wedding took place which meant there were low stock on drinks etc. The big downer for us was no kitchen or chef for dinner service for 4 days! The staff said we were welcome to order in food but most places are closed until Thursday around there, so ended up having mcdonalds and pizza, which I wasn't thrilled about. Last stay we had steak and chips so was really looking forward to that. Apart from that, loved it. But yes, please next time have a dinner available or state that this will be the case.

This place is a diamond! Expected a nice-ish hostel for the price but was absolutely blown away - such a delightful place to stay and so glad we did. Staff were lovely, and the foyer offered lemon water, board games, local homewares and a bunch of other stuff I'd expect younger travellers would love. The room was clean, airy and beautifully decorated with a wonderful view. Bed was super comfortable and shower was fine! Read a few reviews here critiquing the temperature and pressure changes in the shower, and while we did experience some of that it wasn't insurmountable by any means.

It was a little loud with the noise from other rooms... So if you're sensitive to noises I might not recommend, but it didn't bother us one bit and certainly didn't wake us!

Great location , friendly staff , comfortable stay

The entrance can be cleaner and not much choice for the breakfast also out of 4 choices nothing available except croissants (due to delivery coming later in the day) even though we paid for the room including breakfast , hopefully we will get a refund for the breakfast we never had. Most of the breakfast places don’t open till earliest 9 am on Sunday morning most places opens 10am , so it’s a bit of an effort to find a place walk there with young kids and walk back.

We had a mini room and it was small but perfect for a couple for a couple of nights. We had a beautiful view and the bathroom was spacious. No tv is what everyone seems to complain about, but getting out and exploring Margate meant we didn't even notice if there was one or not. A really great stay, the staff were helpful and everything was very tasteful.

Little bit of a walk to town but nice along the sea front. The lift wasn't working and the carpet on the stairs wasnt nailed down so nearly had a bad fall one morning, otherwise great stay.

Very nice place. Staff were accommodating. Would definitely book here again if I return to Margate

They could have left some cleaning stuff in the shared toilet as it was constantly left unclean by other guests.

Great location. Friendly staff.

We booked the double room which was very small it was a single room with a double bed in it. Extremely small double room for the price. This isn’t a complaint as we were still pleased with our stay. However we only stayed for a short period 1night if I was to stay in Margate for longer than 1-2nights I would find a hotel room with a lot more space for more comfortability. Also we came during a festival weekend so we paid premium so value for money wasn’t there for me during my stay.

Very dog friendly, friendly staff. Great bar attached. Was a nice place generally.

The room was in a slight state of disrepair. The door handles in the bathroom were broken, the curtains were pulling off the wall, there was really poor airflow so it gets quite hot, room could have been cleaner and didn’t come with any glasses or anything for water. Poor water pressure, and intermittent temperature.
