We had a family room at the Fairburn which was a really good size with decent beds. We'd had a similar room request at a more recognised hotel chain the night before which was nowhere near as comfortable. Natalie & Sharon were really attentive getting us checked in, we ran late checking in and received calls to confirm we were still staying. The room was nice, beds were comfortable, overall everything exceeded expectation. There was a shower in the bath which was perfect for us but appreciate might not suit everyone. Supply of towels, soaps and gels were plentiful and replenished daily. Breakfasts were really generous, tasty and well presented. We didn't get a chance to use the restaurant but we did visit the bar which was relaxed and well stocked. Every interaction with staff was a pleasant experience with happy smiley faces all around, a really welcoming team.
Nothing, we went with no preconceived ideas or expectations and so were really pleasantly surprised when comparing with other hotels used on our trip.

The room was both large, airy and absolutely spotless, the beds were large, inviting, clean and comfortable I didn't want to leave it either day we were there, There were 3 fans in our bedroom to cool the room if we needed it and an ironing board and iron for our use. There was a hairdryer In the drawer as well as a kettle, mugs, with both coffee and tea making facilities sugar milk and biscuits. We also had a large television to enable us to watch whatever programmes we wanted The bathroom was as spotless as the bedroom, it had a shower over the bath with a shower curtain, all different sized towels, clean fresh and soft. The staff made us feel special all of the time, they were all super friendly, chatty helpful and always went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed or could imagine needing. The Manageress was so pleasant, helpful happy and easy going. Nothing was too much trouble for her she made us so very welcome even though we were there by 11am, she went above and beyond without a second thought and was there helping us with anything and in every way possible, even down to offering all the help we would need to sort our taxis out for the following day's wedding. Compliments to the chef we ate in the hotel Friday evening and the meal was superb, we all had different main courses but each one was large beautifully prepared, absolutely gorgeous to look at and so delicious to eat. The desserts were all of large portions, they looked smelt and tasted absolutely fantastic and with every bite they would melt in your mouth The whole meal left me wishing it would never end and wondering exactly how or if their breakfast could compare Saturday mirni g and once again a big round of applause and congratulations to the chef.

The hotel was lovely. We were staying for a wedding nearby at Boswell Coach House, and read some great reviews on here about the hotel so decided to give it a go. Staff were so helpful, the room was very clean, and the restaurant and bar were lovely. Food was great too. Something I really liked was the Room Numbers being associated with Robert Burns (we stayed in room 10 which was Tam O' Shanter, others were things like Souter Johnny, Jean Armour etc). Hoping for another reason to come back here again!
There was absolutely nothing wrong with our stay. Great wee place.

The choice for breakfast was excellent. This was the second time we've stayed over after a celebration night out (my 74th) and we can't fault the menu for the evening meal - apart from the fact that they'd run out of fish (obviously popular). The meal was hot and tasty and beautifully presented Our bedroom was clean, comfortable and conveniently accommodating with bathroom accessories, tea making facilities etc The staff were delightful; friendly and helpful We were unable to come in January as I had fallen on black ice and turned my ankle, but the hotel were most accommodating when we asked for a transfer of dates
It was a cold evening and the one radiator in the room didn't seem to be warm. We substituted by watching a little TV snug under a duvet before going to sleep

I thouroughly enjoyed my stay, staff and owners alike were superb. The ambience was perfect ,the accomodation was exceptional, and the food was top class, and an amazing menu. I would without hesitation reccomend staying here. however I would not come in the winter again.
unfortunately the heating system let them down , in my opinion. The oil filled radiators did not reach their max and therefore the room was cold. I was supplied with an electric radiator which did not fill the void. I eventually took to my bed for warmth. which was a pity.

we stayed 2 nights in this hotel, we chose it because of its location to visit Dumfries House, but we discovered other places very beautiful, clean hotel our room spacious, we also had dinner one evening, good restaurant, excellent breakfast friendly staff always available highly recommended, the parking is very practical behind the structure and public, feeling of a familiar and safe place.

The location was excellent for visiting Dumfries House. Great breakfast and the two evening meals were excellent. (The fish and chips were exceptional.) The staff were very friendly and helpful.
My bed felt like I was laying on ridges. Mentioned this on departure and the staff said that they would get housekeeping to take a look as there were 2 mattresses. My fault for not mentioning it after the first night.

This place exceeded our expectations. Amazing attention to detail. The room was equipped with everything we could possibly need. Decoration is traditional and cozy, staff was super friendly, they let us check in 1 hour early because we had an event to attend. Place is environmentally friendly, love the timer in the shower, it really makes you think and time yourself. Parking is at the back and free
Nothing really. Our stay was very pleasant. The only thing was that breakfast is served until 9:15am, which was pretty early for us considering we had an event to attend until late in the evening, so we could not have breakfast there.

We were attending a wedding in the local area and the staff were very accommodating and nothing was a problem. even a late late check in post wedding wasn’t an issue. The facilities are lovely, rooms are well decorated and fully equipped with lovely compact bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and the options were first class. Ayrshire people are so friendly and all staff were happy to go that extra mile and we look forward to re-visiting in the future. Thanks for the drop off the following morning back at our vehicle which we left at the wedding venue. A credit to the owners the way the hotel is presented and don’t hesitate to book and stay here when visiting Rabbie Burns County.

All of the staff members were polite, sociable and couldn’t do enough for you. we also dined at the restaurant on our first night and the meal was nice.
You can hear the traffic driving by the hotel during the night. The hotel does provide earplugs which made all the difference.
