We stayed for two nights, attending a wedding a few miles away. Dinner on the first night was excellent (venison pie and fish and chips delicious) Live acoustic guitarist was exceptional and other friends also staying there booked him on the spot for an anniversary party! Limited by good selection of wines, large selection of gins. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good choice of cereals, compote and yogurt, croissants and home made bread and jam/marmalade. Excellent choice of hot food to order, full English to poached eggs with Hollandaise and bacon/smoked salmon. Nero room quite small, Marine room quite large, both very comfortable.

No lounge or comfortable chairs for residents to sit once the bar closes at 10.30pm approx, or to sit in after breakfast. "Sticky" floor in the breakfast room! It was clean, just sticky.

The Wheatsheaf is in a lovely location near popular places. Parking was easy. The room was comfortable with the usual facilities. Breakfast offered good choices and the evening meals were delicious. The staff were polite and friendly. Although our room was directly above the outside seating area it was extremely quiet.

Our room, although comfortable was a little snug. The en suite was also very compact although I understand there were bigger rooms at higher prices. The homemade breakfast was a little bland in respect of the sausage and the homemade hash brown turned out to be potato rosti.

The Wheatsheaf is well located to explore the North Norfolk Coast. Located through the village of Bodham (you turn off the A148 on the bend in Bodham) in the quiet village of West Beckham. There is ample parking both at the front and back of the pub with the later being the biggest. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We ate in 2 nights and the evening meals were delicious. Would definitely recommend the Pie of the day. For breakfast there was cereals, toast, croissants with cooked meals to suit including a Full English to fill you up for the day. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Holt is just down the road which we found convenient for lunch and a break following our drive down. We also visited Weybourne beach, Sheringham, Cley, Blakeney, Salthouse, Blickling all of which were within a reasonable driving distance. A really nice peaceful place to relax and enjoy the coast that time forgot.

The bathroom was a iittle chilly in the morning compared to the main bedroom but it did not spoil the overall visit.

Breakfast offered an excellent choice of fruit juice, cereals, pastries and cooked breakfast options. Dinner quality was excellent, very fresh produce, well presented. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious with a lovely shower room.

A limited choice of ales on tap. While we stood there a barrel needed changing, another was taken off to recalibrate leaving no other ale choice but they did have Estrella Galicia on tap which was excellent!

Last minute booking and it was perfect. Room was lovely, best nights sleep, clean, warm and a good shower. Breakfast was really good, homemade bread was a pleasant surprise. We ate both nights in the bar, food was amazing and a great pint, excellent value for money. Hosts and bar staff were all friendly and chatty, made us welcome and felt very much at home, would make a great "local"!

All brilliant!

We had a lovely stay at The Wheatsheaf. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food is very good and the breakfast is exceptional with a good choice on the menu. We would like to have given it full marks but please see below.

Our room wasn’t serviced one day so we had dirty cups etc and a full bin. We trust this was an oversight but at £140 a night I would expect rooms to be serviced every day regardless. We would have like to have given the accommodation full marks but sadly this wasn’t possible.

Lovely quiet village location, clean and bright room, food in pub downstairs was fantastic ( Fish and Chips like no other) and the breakfast included in the price was one of the best we have ever had. It was ALL freshly cooked and locally sourced. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and i can not thank Steve enough for trying to find us at the local park run with the mobile phone left on departure. We will be booking again if in the area.

The whole experience was simply perfect. Traditional, atmospheric, welcoming (building and people). Great location, about a mile away, from wedding venue at Chaucer Barn. Clean and characterful accommodation with excellent shower. Delicious breakfast selection, beautifully presented, and great evening meal too. Even lucky enough to be there for an evening of folk musicians...wonderful.

Lovely country pub with a good dining room serving evening meals. The breakfast was excellent, and I had smashed avocado on sourdough toast with bacon added while my wife had a combination of Eggs Royale, and poached eggs on toast with bacon. Rooms were clean and comfortable although lacked seating for watching TV, but the bed sufficed. There was a workspace for a computer. The bathroom featured a walk-in shower and had recently been upgraded. Car parking was on site and close to the entrance. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Recommended.

Our stay was a bit expensive for what was offered but it was an enjoyable stay. A minor inconvenience - the shower could use a shelf to put bathing accessories on.
