Rooms were big, furniture looked nice and location was great in the heart of everything. Had extras like fan, iron and ironing board. Friendly, helpful staff on reception.

100 pound damage deposit. Lots of little stains and scuffs on carpets and walls doors and furniture, felt we had to note them all at the start of our holiday to ensure we didn’t get blamed for them and lose our deposit. The stains didn’t change the fact the rooms were still nice and clean in general.

Very efficient check-in. Friendly, welcoming. As a constructive comment the steak in the restaurant was superb, but the prawn cocktail at £9.50 was sorely lacking. Prawns, tasteless sauce and served only with gem lettuce and an after thought of 3 brown bread triangles, no butter. Room was nicely appointed

The room was freezing cold., couldn't adjust heating in bathroom. The bedroom was at its highest setting, but not hot. Made sleeping even uncomfortable and I don't like a warm room to sleep in. The breakfast was disappointing. It's very cramped and tables next to coffee station makes it pretty ridiculous. Advice is to move this table at breakfast. Not sure I need to tell either kitchen or waiting staff, but the hot holding trays are completely impractical. Sure everyone knows it, but Hotel has done nothing to improve it. You have to lift of the tray lids and self serve. There is no space. Need to replace with trays that open on hinges. For all it would cost. It leads to the breakfast choices also being cold. I've scored at 8/10 and I think and hope constructive and fair.

Location, location and location. You cannot ask you for a better place to be in Newcastle. Literally you can reach to the hotel front within 3 min from the train station. Non wonder my friend (i.e. local) recommend this hotel for my very first visit. As the room was a bit small for two adults, we managed to be make some room if one needed for packing. Nonetheless, room was super clean and the temperature for the shower had never dropped even during the peak hours. As we took advantage of the mini fridge, because hotel put all drinks and goodies inside, we need to temporarily evacuate them to make a room for our take away meals. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the stay and wonderful hospitality for those who work for this hotel. Thank you very much once again!!

As we totally understand that this is one historic building, if the summer temperature would be like in 2022 (i.e. warmest in record), no in-room AC unit would be hard to bear with. I am afraid that the small fan they provide would be hard to keep up even the higher floor. Even this cool summer, we kept the door open during night. As the room accommodates up to 2 adults, there is only one chair so that one of us must stand up at all times. Last but not least, faucet in the bathroom was definitely too short against the washbasin resulting the water spilled all over by your very own washing hands. We have no idea why the hotel picked this design or even tested it in a real situation before installation.

Studio room was clean and very spacious. It was a lovely room. Coffee/tea and milk were provided and a large fridge. The sofa was comfortable. The room was extremely hot due to the warm weather but 2 fans were provided. The staff at both buildings were very friendly but especially at the Aparthotel for check in and check out. I'd definitely stay here again

Check in was very slow. I had left my luggage at the County Hotel earlier in the day as my room wasn't ready. I queued to collect it and check in to be told I was in a different building. This was not an issue, but I'd waited a while to check in

I'll be honest. I've been here a few times now and I'm not even there to visit Newcastle, I'm there for THIS specific hotel. Why? Because it's got huge rooms and apartments. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, big fridge and kitchen, sound proofing, across the street from the train station...it's 100% ideal. I used it for heading to Seaham each day, but it's good for Hadrian's Wall/other things you might be in the area for. Honestly, don't look elsewhere, I can't fathom a better place. Good luggage storage, too, and I will definitely be back!

The only thing that went wrong was that the automatic light in the wardrobe came on and would not shut off. We had to cut the power to the room to be able to sleep. I'm sure they've fixed this issue by now, though.

The aparthotel was perfectly situated in the centre of Newcastle, just a couple of minutes walk from all the main sights and the spectacular Tyne bridges. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished, well-equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. We chose to have breakfast in the main hotel each morning and it was superb. Fantastic dining room and one of the tastiest full cooked breakfasts we've ever enjoyed. One of the best things about the aparthotel, among many, was the staff. Marcus, Carolina and Liam were all very welcoming, friendly, professional and extremely helpful.

As the aparthotel is centrally located in a bustling, lively city, our room on the first floor overlooking the street was quite noisy both late at night and early in the morning, despite the double glazing. However, Liam kindly arranged for us to swap for a very quiet apartment on the fourth floor for the rest of our stay, which made all the difference and was greatly appreciated.

The first room was unsuitable because there was no air-con. Booking.com stipulated there was. The hotel couldn't move us on the first night, but they did on the second night. It's only the 2 bed apartments that have air-con, every other room there's just a fan. This was the reason I chose the apartments having stayed in the main hotel before, which is listed and doesn't bode well in the height of summer or winter.

No air-conditioning, no additional baking trays in the kitchen, just the one from the oven grill pan. Also no handles or non-slip amenities in the bathroom, unless you book an accessible room. Didn't realise the apartment was a separate building around the back of the main hotel. Was a bit tiring dragging bags up hill when I booked the hotel for convenience across from the station and being on the flat. I would stay again, reception staff bent over backwards for you.

Compact room, but totally fine for me, and was a very comfortable and clean and quiet up on the top (5th) floor. Was a little apprehensive about the noise from being very central in Newcastle city centre on a Saturday night, and with a wedding on the 1st floor, but my corridor was quiet on the night and the secondary glazing behind the sliding sash windows works brilliantly to shut out outside noise. Room well kitted out. Staff were friendly and efficient. A great nights kip in a comfortable bed and will happily use again as is perfect for the station and the close to the theatres.

Nothing much to fault at all really, without being too picky. Met all my expectations and more.

The property was much nicer and luxurious than I had expected for the money I paid. Great value for money and I would definitely return. Every staff member we seen chatted to us and we’re so friendly and accommodating. The bathroom was great and had fab lighting and I loved that our room had a full length mirror and an actual wardrobe! The mini bar was great and fairly priced too! We couldn’t have asked for more.

The bed was a little on the small side but this wasn’t an issue and the noise levels were very loud at night due to facing onto the train station and Main Street. However we expected this as we were informed by a friend so we took earbuds and these worked great!
