On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who allowed us to check in to our room early which was great. The reception area was very clean and spacious. when we got to our room it was a large room with a lovely view, very clean and plenty of amenities also. We had also been given a late checkout with no extra cost which was great as our flight home wasn’t until later in the day. The staff at reception also allowed us to store our bags with no extra cost, who were also extremely friendly might I add. The hotel is very central to everything and just a 10 minute walk to the centre .I wasn’t sure about booking this hotel as there were alot of mixed reviews however our stay was exceptional and I would definitely recommend staying here.

everything was perfect

Although the rooms seem to be getting painted the carpet in our room was all ripped and didn't even meet the skirting board ,we had two beds one double and one single ,I dread to think what was down the side of the single bed but it looked like body fluids ,the rooms are in desperate need of a good make over not just I lack of paint .for what they charge its not worth the money but for location it's great .

The staff were nice and helpful. Good selection at breakfast. A nice touch for the runners with drinks, fruit, sweets etc on the morning of the race. Also, a chance to win a prize by entering a draw after the race.

For the price that I paid, I thought some of the aesthetics let it down. Little touches! Eg. Tiles need looking at in the bathroom. Bath handle is ready to break. Picture about the bed needs refixing. Hair dryer surface looks damaged. I think if I was to stay here again for the GNR next year then I would hope the prices reflect this.. Also, could someone please explain why the pasta buffet was £28? Really?

The room that was given to us is good. Staying overnight was not too bad. Beds are very comfy and clean. There are tea and coffee provided for you. This hotel is perfect to stay as its only a few minutes walk to Utilita Arena, 5 minutes walk to Newcastle train station, a few steps away to Centre for Life, and 15 minutes walk to Eldon Square.

The only minor problem in our room was the toilet, the drain from the bath tub was not draining properly… I hate my feet soaked while having a shower. There’s no aircon if you’ll be staying during summertime can be too warm inside your room and need to open the window, it will be okay for winter time though.

Large room, comfortable, great shower. Excellent location for venue at arena. Good selection of breakfast items, kept well stocked.

Room was hot so kept the window open throughout the night-awoken each of the 3 nights around 3:30 to voices of hen dos returning, tanked up with drink, hence very loud-shrieks and screams echo around the buildings. Went back to collect luggage and wait for taxi on day of check out-no drinks available in the afternoon from the bar, due to Hotels system going down. offered to pay cash and not accepted, requested a complimentary cup of tea but bar tender refused.

Spacious room, lovely bed, and pillows. Plenty of hot water with a strong shower, and clean and thick towels. My room was lovely and quiet, the room was checked and coffee etc replaced daily if needed. Wonderful helpful staff all very polite and service with a smile. Overall a good place to stay for both Quayside and shops. Only a few minutes from the train station. Price was good and a suitable location for what we wanted

Food and drink are quite expensive. One night had no wine at all so we all ended up having spirits with our meal. Could not get a table in the restaurant so ate in the bar. For the remainder of our stay, we ate outside the hotel. As to the room, no major issues although lots of black mould around the bath, and the toilet seat was damaged and the extractor fan did not work.

Central location and walking distance from the bus stop near the Dog and Parrot pub A friendly and welcoming atmosphere Spacious reception with plenty of place to sit and wait before check in Vending machine on the ground floor to the left of reception Free water for guests in the reception area Bar area with a good selection of drinks and plenty of space to relax and enjoy your drinks Toilets on the ground floor through the bar area Lift access to the rooms The hotel room was spacious and it was better also bigger than we expected as we booked a twin bedroom and didn’t realise we were getting a double bed and single bed Tea and coffee facilities in the hotel room Small storage shelves / wardrobe in the room for coats / jackets and your clothes etc The room had a big TV with a selection of different channels to watch with a good signal to enjoy the programme we were watching A comfortable bed with an extra pillow A spacious bathroom with two mirrors , toilet , sink basin and a shower over the bath also a small shelves with glasses Plenty of towels in the room Breakfast was definitely worth paying the additional price of because it was unlimited refills on the drinks and a helpful yourself buffet of hot and continental food

The bath was extremely low to climb out of which was a disadvantage to the stay also the shower was extremely powerful and wasn’t the best as you couldn’t lower it or adjust the pressure settings so unfortunately it ended up with the bathroom floor being soaked as the shower curtain wasn’t the best to stop the shower water going everywhere

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide choice of food to choose from. The staff were efficient and courteous and I appreciated their willingness to let me keep some valuables in the safe while I was there for six nights. The room was large and I really enjoyed having a desk and chair that is provided.

The room didn't have any air flow and the little bit that the window opened did not make a difference. The very thick duvet was not necessary and again, made it too hot for sleeping comfortably. Otherwise I thought that the hotel was excellent and would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a moderately priced Newcastle hotel.

My partner and I arrived at 2pm and were met by Brian, I asked if it was possible to leave our bag as we were there before check in, he told me to hold on and after a few taps on the keyboard we were told a room was ready, not only that we were asked which floor we would prefer! He then asked if we were booked for breakfast. I said we weren't but after some gentle arm twisting we'd booked! Glad we did it was spot on! Brian is a diamond, hospitality staff at it's absolute best!! Looking forward to seeing him next time we're in the Toon

Bathroom in need of some TLC, but that's my only comment.
