Jake at the desk was an amazing employee. My shower head was leaking a lot and the soap pumps were not working so I wanted to upgrade to a better suite after nothing was done to solve this issue after mentioning this to 2 employees. Jake, however, was very kind and understanding about the situation and I was upgraded with no added cost. The upgraded suite was spacious, neat and comfortable. Wish I was there for longer! The breakfast was decent.

In the first room I was in, the shower head was leaking and nothing was done about it after mentioning it to staff members. I was also locked out of my room during my stay there. however, I was compensated well for this issue. I wish there was a better variety of food for breakfast e.g. not just savoury hot food but hot sweet options like porridge, hot pancakes, hot waffles.

Friendly reception staff on check in. Spacious bedroom with very comfortable bed and good sized ensuite. Perfect location for your stay no matter where you need to be in Newcastle.

Loved the location for our weekend event at leazies park. Staff were friendly, from reception to breakfast.....the breakfast was fabulous too, great selection and available until 11am 👍. Hotel is stunning, very welcoming, beds are super comfy, bathroom spacious, great blackout blinds. This was my second time staying in the Sandman signature in Newcastle, would highly recommend and I will most definitely return.

Myself and 3 friends stayed in the junior suite....the super king size bed was fantastic, the bunk beds were great except there was no gap on the top bunk, so was a little tricky to climb over going into bed and out , especially for toilet needs in middle of night. Also the lack of sitting space..we all ended up hanging out in the bedroom sitting on that super king size bed 😁

Didn't get the family room that was originally booked for some reason or other, but was offered another room with two beds and a sofa bed and as a result was given complementary buffet style breakfast, which I must rate as first class. The hotel did telephone me the day before and were most apologetic and did their best to accommodate our requirements.

Possibly being ultra critical however I found the sofa bed was uncomfortable, could feel the framework through a thin mattress. There was only one lift working so the wait was longer than we would have expected. The sliding door on entrance to the bathroom was a bit noisy as it was hung from a height with no bottom guide (Possibly a design fault), also door did not slide far enough to close the gap to provide total privacy when using the bathroom.

Love this hotel, the junior suite was great, the fact that you can request housekeeping if/when you need it is a plus for me. There was always hot water and the rainfall shower is fabulous! All the basics are there, cutlery, crockery, iron/board and a decent hairdryer. The location is perfect for access to St James Park and it's only a short walk to a eldon garden shopping centre and bars and eateries. The staff are all friendly and happy to help guests and there is a complimentary drinks area in reception is a nice touch too.

The hotel doesn't have air conditioning, BUT they provided a pedestal fan and with the window open it was very comfortable, even on the hottest day. The room seemed small on first impression, but it was perfect for the 2 of us, plenty of mirrors for applying the makeup!

Hotel was easy to find and just over the road from the venue I was attending with local shops and food places. Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was amazing! There were loads of items included which made my stay easier and comfortable such as iron, microwave and kettle. I also appreciated the clothes hanger storage and the double roller blinds as I like to have a dark room Apart from the 2 things mentioned in the dislikes, I really enjoyed the hotel and will be back again next year if I can!

Parking was very expensive even with the discount I had a really, really hard time sleeping in my bed, I tried shutting the window to cancel the main road noise and use the fan instead for the heat which worked but no matter which position I changed to I could not get comfy in that bed no idea why.

Stayed at the Sandman Newcastle as I had some work at the university over a couple of days. It happened that the stay coincided with a match on at the stadium - which worried me at first, but it turned out not to be an issue at all! The windows in the room protect from the noise outside quite well, and in any case, any excitement or celebration was finished by 10.30pm. The staff at the reception were kind enough to let us know that this would be the case and they were, of course, correct!

There wasn’t really anything that I didn’t like. I would like to have had breakfast at the hotel but, looking at the price online, nearly £16 was just too off putting. So, I just popped to the Tesco Express a couple of doors down for a quick bite.

Lovely hotel with brilliant views of St James Stadium. Walkable to everything in the city - we walked (myself in heels) to the Quayside in 15mins for dinner in the evening. Lovely and welcoming staff on the reception desk who made genuine conversation with us. Birthday card from the hotel left in our room was a nice touch. Great breakfast spot which does the most amazing pancakes just around the corner! Convenient parking at the stadium which only cost £6 for us to park for our entire overnight stay.

Road noise was very loud - could do with better soundproofing. That is our only criticism.

The room was lovely, clean, spacious and a great view, it certainly exceeded our expectations. The location was absolutely perfect for us, super easy to find and central to everything within a short walk away. The service and staff was excellent, any questions we had they were super quick to help with a friendly, polite demeanour. As we had to travel a good distance and had arrived early they accommodated to this and checked us in early making us feel wholly welcomed.

It is great that there is a gym facility and we took great advantage of this. The only thing I could think to make improvement upon, would be to expand on the equipment range within the gym facility.

The room was really well cleaned, it was very warm even with the heater off, the view was was lovely and I also was thankful for the fact that while the room was nice and spacious it didn’t feel empty. The bed was nice and warm and I enjoyed the handiness of the usb charging ports next to it. I was also very thankful for the friendliness of the staff providing everything I need to get properly sorted into my room. Overall lovely experience would definitely recommend it to people.

I don’t really think anything needed improving as while I only stayed for 1 night I much enjoyed the comforts of the room.
