On arriival, I was greeted by a person with a welcoming smile. After I'd checked in, I was helped with my luggage to my room. I had a free upgrade to a large room at the top of the house. The room was very characterful, with a big window facing a lovely garden. The window was opened, for me, and remained that way for the rest of my stay. There was a hospitality-tray, with nice tea-bags and a pretty tea-pot. The ensuite bathroom contained a nice, big, enamelled cast-iron bath-tub as well as a toilet and hand-sink. There was plenty of hot water. The hotel-building was old and extremely characterful, with many of the very charming features still in place, The breakfast-room was beautiful and the cooked, vegetarian breakfast was generous and good !

At breakfast, the fruit-juices could have been better presented.

Arrived earlier that usual . The welcome was friendly , t have been, coming to the BALMORAL LODGE HOTEL SOUTHPORT for many years . I was very impressed the with my breakfast the bacon was as thick as a pork chop . I will be heading back home tomorrow . I come to Southport to visit a friend who has a few health issues . So coming back to the hotel and relaxing in my room with the radio in the background. Last night I slept 9 hours and ordered a Chinese take away . I would like to give a THUMBS UP.

My single bed was a little cramped. . I never like leaving the BALMORAL LODGE HOTEL.

I travel to Southport to check up with my friends who live on their own . I always enjoy the welcome that I receive .Staff are very helpful and polite . The breakfast room has a beautiful garden and breakfast just make my day . The bus stop is just across the road which takes you into Lord Street . Only £2 . There is a good size parking area. Hope to see you all soon.

I would just like to say that I found the single bed a wee bit small . I have spoken to management about having to climb stairs , but I still look at my stay as a workout .

We were a party of 9 cyclists. We were received most warmly by our French hosts who encouraged us to put our bikes in the bar, which is (sadly) closed in the evening. We had 6 rooms, all good. The garden rooms were particularly useful, for example, for the couple with a dog. Our double room also had built in childrens bunks. Other rooms also had extra beds for kids. Worth bearing in mind if planning a holiday with several families. Breakfast was very good with plenty of individual options.

This is a hotel of a certain age. There were some issues with wifi and TV remotes.

The reception from Lynn was very friendly and welcoming. It is a lovely, quirky old building full of character. It is placed super close to town, only a few minutes walk to Lords Street. Mum had breakfast and said it was good quality and great value. Dogs are also welcome.

I personally loved it. However, if someone is looking for one of the chain style of hotels, that have little character, then you possibly won't like it..... I much prefer places like this were you wish the walls could talk and tell the story. Parking can be a bit tight, but again, Lynn comes out to help.

The room size, very spacious with fridge, kettle and plenty of room to put your belongings away. The staff are very friendly, warm and welcoming, making sure you feel comfortable and invited. The bathroom is large and the bed was comfortable and clean throughout. The view from the room was lovely and you had plenty of natural light coming into the room. Nice size TV and warm atmosphere.

Having to leave. I could have stayed longer.

The towels and sheets and pillows were beautifully clean. Nice large TV and good kettle to make a brew. Large wardrobe and lots of drawers. Piping hot water for a good old soak in the bath. Breakfast for £5 was excellent. Continental then full English with tea or coffee. The staff were very friendly and happy to help in any way possible.

Bathroom was dated and needs a bit of care and attention. Patio door was hard to lock and even harder to unlock. Couldn't remove the plug from the bath as it had no chain. A lot of grime around the overflow in the bath.

I have stayed at Balmoral Lodge Hotel a few times now. I arrived on the Tuesday and was met with a friendly smile. I was given a room on the ground floor which was very helpful. The breakfast was served with a lot of love and great choices . The good thing about were the Hotel is . There's a bus stop just outside the door. The weather was very cold but the room was cosy and hot. Leaving is always a sad time. So I've booked for 4 nights at the new year.

I did have a problem with the shower but was shown how to get it hot.

Good location, just a short walk from the shopping centre & Lord St. On a quiet back road, so no noise at night. Owners / staff were very helpful & friendly. Free private car parking. Although dated, the room was clean & comfortable. Had patio area in garden. Great value breakfast. Good value overall.

Room was dated, but was clean & comfortable.
