Lovely hotel, lovely staff, food was good, plenty of choices to eat. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, you only had to ask. They even catered for our German shepherd, who was delighted to be given freshly cooked sausages on both mornings. Well stocked bar, bit expensive, but everything has gone up, so you've got understand why. Hotel lovely and nice and warm with the log fire in the bar.

We have been coming here for 15 years and it was a shame that we had to bring up a complaint with the manageress, who I must say was very apologetic. The only let down, was from the room cleaner When we arrived, coffee, tea etc had not been stocked up. After the first night we went out in the village. We came back late at night at 9pm, to find our room had not been touched, no clean towels and no toilet roll. We ended up having to get toilet roll etc from the manageress who was on the bar at the time. Our room wasn't the only room untouched, as our friend who was in the next room, was in the same predicament. Not cleaned, no replacement towels and no toilet roll.

I've been coming here for 25 years, and the food at the moment Jan 2024 is the beat there has ever been. So, whoever your chef is, you need to hold onto him. We were with another couple of friends, so we stayed in the annexe for the first time ever. The rooms were loveley and we we had a small adjoining vestibule which was nice. So whoever allocated these rooms mast have knew we were going to be noisy with all the laughter 😃. However we really missed the view so it's back to the hotel rooms in future. There was a good hairdryer in the room, and the underfloor hearing was cozy, so don't leave your carryout or chocolate on the floor 😃 .

The drinks are overpriced and if the Falls of Dochart or Shutters had been opened, then we would have drank there but they have a captive audience in January. They are short staffed and that could be down to the season however we seen 6 Hill walkers come in for lunch, and no one was around to serve them so they just left. 99% of the staff are loveley but there is just one that needs to learn how to crack a smile .

Everyone and everything was spot on and great value. The food and beer were lovely and we were looked after well by the staff. The ambience in the bar was really nice pursuading us not to go looking for evening entertainment any where else.

The rooms were a little bit tired in the annex but not problematic so. The annex room was too warm and controlling the temperature due to the under floor heating was a real challenge. We were quite happy to have the window open but as it is a ground floor not everyone would be happy with it open.

The food in the restaurant for both the evening meal and breakfast was well above expectations. For such a remote location it was a good place to stay and as mentioned the food was above and beyond. Would recommend a meal just as a traveller. The lounge area gave a good feeling when relaxing with a drink afterwards. The staff couldn't have been anymore helpful and pleasant. I requested a non-friendly pet room which I was given. Also pets weren't allowed in some areas of the hotel.

The heating in the room was below par. Radiator was "cool" when I arrived circa 5.00pm and was cold by 6.00pm. Heating never came back on in the morning although the room wasn't very cold.

From beginning to end it was a lovely experience and 1st stay in Scotland. Staff were friendly and extremely obliging to everything/ anything. Food was served in good time, well presented hot, tasty and divine. Good views from room, great parking, stunningly beautiful sat in gardens ...appreciate the mountains ,waterfalls and history..a pure show stopper. Would certainly stay here again and recommended it to many irhers too after my lovely experience.

Tatty carpets in room, bad lighting in shower room..and ill postioned mirrors for getting dressed within said room. Bed shouldn't have a wooden board underneath the mattress and headboard needed fixing to the wall...along with 4 pillows and not 2...

Great room in the annex. They listened to our access needs and we had a shower chair, and handrails. Not fully wheelchair accessible as there is a lip to the shower. However it was fine for us. The room was huge and had a superking bed and a double bed and a sofa that I suspect was a sofa bed. It was a very comfortable bed! Underfloor hearing to do toastie warm! The view from the dining room is delightful and the town is lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast isn’t huge but it’s more than enough and delicious.

Nothing!

Staff were so kind and friendly! Food in restaurant in the evening was delicious, as well as a well stocked bar with lots of choice! Beautiful location and lots of history as hotel has been there for years! Super soft bedding and comfy bed. Good value for the price!

We were in room 19, right by the stairs so we heard whenever anyone was using the stairs, and we could hear slight music in the bar as we were right above it. This was not so much an issue for us but I know for other customers this could be a deal breaker. This was the only downside.

I have passed by this Hotel on many times over the years. be it biking or climbing Munro's . Finally booked a weekend with biker dudes. As one of our guys is physically compromised due to a work related incident it was important to be on a ground level. The Annex is perfect for those who cannot do the stairs. For the price we paid for 2 nights 2 ppl each room en suite toilet and tv along with tea making facilities for a cost of £35 each per night...well you can't go wrong. I would recommend trying their inhouse restaurant...good choice of meals at a very good price considering the location for tourists. I did manage to get a damn good price when I booked. One last thing..it's excellent for tourists, climbers, hikers and bikers.

The wi- fi could be better. However it ain.t the be all of anything.

The location and surrounding views are great. The rooms in the Annex are great for families. The food was excellent if a little over-priced. Most of the the staff were friendly and welcoming. All in all a good value for money hotel.

The hotel is now under different ownership than the the last time we visited (this was our fifth stay) and we were a little disappointed with how things have changed - the room was in need of minor fixes, the carpets and bed linens were stained and the level of noise coming from above the Annex rooms was much more intrusive than in previous years. Parking can be difficult for hotel residents, particularly those with mobility issues, although there is one designated disabled parking space.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location- we had stayed here before and it didn't disappoint on a second visit. Cosy bar, lovely dining conservatory good food and a great selection of whiskies and draught real ale. The staff are really nice and very helpful, the bonus was a ride on the fantastic original lift that is a real working antique! Lots of outside seating which we couldn't take advantage of due to the weather but would have been a great place to enjoy the scenery over a drink. Would happily stay here again.

Shower was a bit small in our room but the view from the room made up for that!
