Our room (204) was even nicer than we expected. Clean, nicely decorated and spacious . We had tea coffee and hot chocolate, even bottles of water ! There was a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Our bed was comfy with soft feather pillows,The bathroom was really nice , modern and large. .Hand soap and shower gel was provided. The food was just as nice as usual form Wetherspoons and very good value for money. We had breakfast both days. Dinner the first night I had sausage and mash on offer at £3.99 , bargain. Second night we had rump steak which was really nice .The lift only goes up to the 1st floor so if you struggle with steps make sure to get a room on that floor.

The only problem being the floor sloped down so my husband kept rolling on to my side of the bed, I think it might be better placed under the window so the slope is toward one's feet , this was a mild inconvenience and we found it amusing. I am not a fan of an overhead shower as it gets my hair wet so a shower cap would be very useful for me, I would have gladly paid for one, I got one from the shop nearby.

Room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Everything worked well, no complaints. It's a very old building but updated well and very clean. On a busy road but good soundproofing and air-con. You will get a good night's sleep.

Check-in was a bit strange, basically you have to try and attract one of the bar staff's attention (one of whom ignored me) and then someone else will come after a few minutes to another desk to check you in. At £100 for single occupancy I thought it was a little overpriced but it was a weekend in August so not untypical for 2023.

I was to spend five nights at the hotel so I could spend the days with my elderly grandmother in the next village over. After spending the first day with her, I'd checked into the inn quite late the first night. But then things got properly wonky the next day when I woke up with Covid. After having gotten a home test from the next door pharmacy, I informed the front desk and one of the staff immediately popped back out to see if the pharmacy offered further testing (which they didn't), and then they tried their best to help me contact the NHS hotline (which was tricky because i had a funky arrangement with my phone company of all things.) Above all of course, I had to isolate for the remaining four nights. While a restaurant and hotel, they did not usually do room service, however I was told to order whatever i needed/wanted from the online menu to the "staff table" and they would interpret that as my room and send things up. They were quick to make sure I had extra towels, trash-bags, lots and lots and lots of coffee and tea packets (lol), and plenty of extra biscuits, and they were very good about bringing up some of the supplies my grandmother's neighbor and carers were able to drop off at the front desk for me. I was of course extremely anxious about having exposed my grandmother, and frustrated as this was a very important trip for me personally as I'd had very little time with her growing-up, such serious frustrations aside however, the room was very comfortable to recuperate in (and having both a full bath and a full waterfall shower in the bathroom didn't hurt either ;) ). All in all, very comfortable, clean, room, with generally good food, and above all an extremely understanding and accommodating staff who were also very kind and friendly. Being a pub I'd worried about noise, but the wing for the guests is well isolated and this was not an issue.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. The food we had for dinner on our first night was lovely. Unfortunately the cooked breakfasts we had on our first morning weren't very nice; the tomatoes were uncooked, the mushrooms were extremely chewy and the scrambled eggs were a horrid texture and lacked flavour.

There was no iron or ironingboard in either of the 2 rooms booked. Due to issues with the boiler, we had no hot water on our last morning. Due to the boiler issue, the kitchen was closed, so we didn't have breakfast before we checked out, in fact we checked out early because of this.

Great location in the center of town with unbeatable prices for the room, food and drinks. The room was spacious with a large king-sized bed, it was presented in a clean and nicely appointed condition with a lovely fitted bath and shower room. Tea, coffee, water and the usual biscuits were provided daily. The accommodation was above standard for the price.😃

The left-hand window frame developed an annoying rattle during the night. I tried to fix the issue but due to the design of the frame, I couldn't solve the issue.🤔

Very good location and room was fine. Staff very friendly apart from short delay checking in. Very comfortable and not as noisy as I had feared being above a busy pub.

Wi-fi kept dropping out every few minutes and had to continually keep signing in. Thought price of room only for one person was dear as no breakfast included and when I adjusted my length of stay from 3 nights to 2 the price increased.

Lovely room, small but very clean and had all you need for a short stay. Tea, coffee, hot chocolates and biscuits were a nice touch.

The floors were a little noisy so could hear people walking up and down the corridor. The actual Wetherspoons restaurant is probably the worst I’ve ever experienced- sold out of pretty much all breakfast items, the evening before they had sold out of chips and all sauces, food took over 45 mins to arrive and staff weren’t pleasant. Overall an 8 rating as the hotel side of Wetherspoon a was pretty decent.

having a restaurant downstairs , food and drink and breakfast! at a decent price, really nice rooms , big and comfy beds , nice sized tv and big bathroom. location was good if you wanted evening disco , as there was a bar just down the road from it. receptionist was friendly and welcoming room keys worked well and allowed us to enter the hotel part, a bit of security so no one could just walk up.

A very clean and comfortable room. Restocked coffee, water etc daily. The hotel was in a great location. The bed was very comfortable and I liked having a small table and chair in the room. A very enjoyable stay.

All was good hotel wise but a telephone to contact reception would be an asset. There was a lot of noise on my second nights stay which seemed to come from above my room, whilst this was not the hotel's fault it would have been useful to be able to report this and get someone to check.

Pleasant, comfortable rooms with everything we needed. Free parking was a bonus. Meals were good.

Staff were busy so had to wait a while to be served when checking in, ordering food, and also when checking out. On checking out the staff were so busy they didn't even turn around to make eye contact - they were busy attending to something and heard us saying we were checking out so just said: "leave the key on the counter and oh and was everything OK?" without even turning around to see us. I could have interpreted this as being quite rude but it was obvious that they were very busy, it doesn't create the right impression of good hospitality though. Lots of dead flies on the window sill and ants crawling on the table in the bar where we were eating which was a bit off putting. 😲
