We had such an incredible stay at SunStar! The home is beautifully designed, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable… and I’m completely blown away by Sondra’s hospitality. She is such a gem and by far, the best B&B host! She made an amazing breakfast (and latte!.. move over Starbucks). She upgraded our room when one became available.. gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Anchorage. She definitely went above and beyond to make our stay (and our entire Alaskan vacation) a memorable one.. and she did! I recommend staying here 10000%! (Just stop searching and book here, you’ll be happy you did!)

Everything was perfect.

We had a great time staying at SunStar Alaska. The rooms were fantastic, the breakfast options plentiful and cooked to order, and the host a great guide who knows the area and what's happening. Our hostess was well versed on the local area and can recommend dining options, activities, and sightseeing locations. She even know the local trails for hiking and running. Lattes on request at breakfast along with a good selection of fresh fruit. We had a great time and plan to return next time we're in Anchorage.

More options for cutting out the light at night. When it never really gets dark in the Alaskan summer, this can be an issue. We chatted with the hostess and she's exploring blackout curtain options in addition to the blinds.

This was an amazing way to get transitioned from the hustle and bustle of real life to my vacation! Sonja was in contact multiple times leading up to my trip and greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm when I arrived. She even made me a bonus snack to save me a late night trip to the store. The home is beautiful…very comfy hygge crossed with clean lines and contrast. Then breakfast in the morning was next level! She made it to order based on our chat the night before and engaged me in trip planning and pointers while I ate. She welcomed me in the living room space after check out and held my luggage until my ride could arrive to pick me up, allowing me to take a little walk around the nearby park.

My only complaint was low water pressure in the shower.

The host went above and beyond to make me comfortable during my stay. She treated me like family and cared for me after a long day of travel. She even washed my clothes when I had a container of honey spill in my checked luggage. She is also an amazing chef, the breakfast alone was worth the stay. She is detail-oriented and has gone above and beyond to ensure you have everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable. The room I stayed in came with complimentary bottled water and a Keurig! Seriously look no further and book this place. You will not regret it!

Sondra is an amazing host! She knows what you need before you know what you need. Her cooking was great, I had breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, avocado, tomatoes on her homemade bread. Her latte would make Starbucks weep with pleasure! Thanks Sondra once again for a great experience. I’ll be back.

That she didn’t have an opening for me to stay longer.

Sondra is an exceptional host! She has thought of everything to make her BnB feel like home. The best thing about our stay? The breakfast! As a vegan, I often expect to make/find my own food when traveling, but Sondra had me covered. She made me a wonderful oatmeal, fruit spread, and sweet potato hash that was the best meal I've had on my trip so far. She also made a great breakfast for my non-vegan family. Would definitely recommend SunStar to friends and family!

Clean and welcoming home in a quiet neighborhood. Very nice room with comfortable bed. Sondra is simply fantastic. She makes you feel right at home, helps you wherever she can and is dedicated to making your Alaska experience a great one. And her breakfast - simply amazing. She puts so much effort into this place and in making her guests comfortable that it is very hard to leave the place. I will be back for sure. Thank you Sondra!!

The owner made us feel very welcome, she is very helpfull and acted on everything we needed. The place is modern and clean. The breakfast is outstanding, a lot of choice and delicious.

It is a bit far located from the center, although it is easy to order a taxi.

We really enjoyed our stay with Sandra at Sunstar bed and breakfast. She contacted us early and shared all the important details with us. She was very hospitable and her breakfast was the absolute hammer with a large selection. The rooms as well as the restrooms were clean and very well equipped. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The lady who runs it is very nuce and si helpful and welcoming you into her home. She fixes you whatever you want for breakfast. I wanted chocolate milk and the next day she had it. Snd even made us to go cups and left them in the refrigerator for us the morning we left. You will love it there.
