Carmel Wayfarer Inn

The staff was great, and onsite parking is so important in Carmel. We felt the room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable.

While we were having late afternoon snacks on the patio, many guests wanted to talk to someone in the office. Since it was a Tuesday, and I had read that staff left at 3:00, I had to explain it to everyone who looked like they needed assistance. Many of these people were European tourists who didn't understand why there was no staff available to answer questions. One tourist said that Booking.com accepted his request for a room at 6:00 pm ,when there was no one to even give him a key to a room. I felt badly for all off them.

Carmel is a very charming town and so was the hotel. It was clean, we had what we needed in the room, beds were comfortable. The furniture is a bit outdated but it didn't bother us. We were met but a very welcoming and kind staff. Location was excellent and in walking distance to restaurants, caffe, fairy tale houses.

It was like our own little apartment with a fireplace and even came with an extra room and 2 twin beds which we didn't use. It was very close to the restaurant went to, so we were able to walk there and back.

We couldn't get the fireplace to work. The guy at the front desk was a little creepy.

No breakfast! We have stayed at Wayfarer over the years and always enjoyed eating the waffles. I was disappointed that they did not have them this time.

Great value for money for Carmel, central location just 5 minutes to the main street and famous Carmel Bakery[the best cafe with freshly made sandwiches and pastries.].Clean spacious room and bathroom , the bed was firm and comfortable . Fridge in room.

We booked a King room with the "fireplace" but it was not working.I informed the front desk person.He told us the control was on the wall which we had already tried to use.The morning receptionist was more responsive as we were leaving.The room had heating [including the bathroom which was great] so it did not affect our comfort.Just a mild disappointment . No coffee/tea machine in the room but there is free drip coffee in the reception in the morning.

The location was great. Loved the room & fireplace. It was super cozy & we enjoyed just chillin in the room. It was just really nice & we definitely wanna go back.

The bed & pillows were not comfortable. The bed was hard & pillows were flat. Also the fireplace was really nice & worked great except the glass window needs to be cleaned to enjoy the view of the fire. It's like completely fogged over. My husband said he wished he could pull out the window & just wipe it down. Lol.

The refrigerator was turned all the way cold when I arrived, so all my personal food froze.

Check in was super easy, location was literally minutes away from an event we were attending and the room was cute, clean and did have a fireplace.

The window blinds had tape on them and we couldn't open and it was either really hot or really cold in the room and temperature was solely dependent on if you had the wall heater on. Also, booked the last room and went back on later and it showed rooms available at a lesser rate. :(

The location could not be better for the price. The place was impeccably clean. The staff was lovely. We stayed in one of the rooms that have not been renovated yet and I look forward to seeing what it will look like after they renovate. We had a very pleasant stay.

They are currently working on renovated all the rooms and the ones they have not worked on yet do need it. But in the meantime you’re getting a bargain.
