Location was amazing Our room was great specious and comfortable

Parking They didn’t have enough parking for all rooms. We had to park in the EV spot because there was no other parking available. Told us we had to move it because our car wasn’t EV. They gave us a spot in the sister hotel across but then asked us to move that again too . They should not advertise free parking if they didn’t have enough spots . At least make a note so people will know about the inconvenience and think about alternatives. Room noise : there was a lot of noise from upstairs unit. We could hear them walking upstairs and the wood making a lot of noise and kept us awake at night .

The hotel gave us complimentary champagne for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. Also, when we booked our stay, the immediately called me to let me know that they accidentally overbooked their rooms but because it was our anniversary, they upgraded our room to a suite. The hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Carmel By The Sea. The furniture and art decor is beautiful . It's situated In the midst of downtown Carmel where the art galleries and wine tastings are. It is only a few blocks from Clint Eastwood's Hog's Breath restaurant, which we highly recommend.

It wasn't so much of a dislike, it's more of an inconvenience that our room didn't have a microwave to reheat our leftovers.

The location is great, in the heart of downtown, 7min walk to the beach. There is a free small private parking lot across street for the overnight guest. We arrive just after check-in time, so find a parking spot. Not sure whether there would be spot if arrive late at night. You can tell from the amenity that the hotel is pretty old. There is no elevator, but the front desk offer service to carry the luggage to the room. The room is small and beautiful, the bed is cozy.

No coffee maker in the room.

Amazing location, the room (#3) we stayed in was "outside" of the hotel (by Il Fornaio), but it is a nice, large, quaint room with the most amazing bathroom you'll ever see.

Staff was ok, but gave very little info on how confusing it was the room access. Room was a sauna when we got there - not sure if it is because it shares a wall with the kitchen, but it took us hours with all the windows open to get the temp down.

The room was small, clean, and cozy, and the bed was comfy. There was a lot of storage like drawers and a separate room like a closet. The location was perfect with the ocean view, window shutters can be opened for better view.

Because the room was small and tight, we stubbed our toes and knees a couple of times on the bed frame corners. The heater/radiator is not heating the room quickly and makes a dripping/tinkering noise. We can also hear the next-door occupants so we were very conscious about the noises we make.

A very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was nice, with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. While the hotel is old/historic the hotel is old, it is well-maintained. Some people seem to think this is not the case, but if you're looking for a brand new place, then this isn't the best choice.

The hotel restaurant is something of an oddity. In the weekend breakfast isn't included. We wanted to have a snack after arrival at 9:30 pm and were told that the restaurant closes at 9pm on Friday night! There are no coffee making facilities in the rooms because, apparently, the restaurant forbids it. At more than $300 per night, I expect to have coffee facilities in the room and don't give a damn what the restaurant says about it!

We loved everything about the Pine Inn! We loved the décor and the ambiance and the atmosphere, and just the fact that it was right in the middle of town. it was charming and wonderful! The beds were comfortable. We loved it.

The only thing that was stressful is the fact that there's so few parking spots in the lot. And if you miss out then it's a real struggle to find a place to park. But beyond that it's amazing and we got the last available spot so it worked out great. We just didn't move our vehicle for the duration of our trip.

The location is unbeatable. You’re in the heart of it all. Easy walk access to everything Carmel has to offer. Staff is very helpful and the restaurant downstairs is yummy! Beds are very comfortable.

Wasn’t a kid friendly hotel. No elevators so hard to take up bags and or stroller with kids. However staff has no problem helping. When they say check in at 4, be prepared to be waiting well past 4. Definitely was a busy weekend so can see where they took a while but didn’t like being rushed since we were apart of a wedding and late to rehearsal due to it being a later check in. Very beautiful lobby with old feel, but scared my little ones were going to break things. I’ll come back but just as an adult trip next time. Rooms are small.

Lovely big room in great location. Everything about it was excellent. We had unusually warm room due to being near the kitchens but they bought us two fans which made all the difference. The staff were lovely to deal with and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Not the property but just as a warning, the car park was always full and we had to park on the street. That’s fine if you are out all day as it’s two hour max but make sure you don’t park the car the wrong way round like I did to make the boot more accesible to loading. In the 5 minutes it took to check out I got a $40 ticket for parking “against the flow of traffic”!! They seem super zealous in their little parking rules!

Great restaurant for breakfast, or any meal for that matter. Also a great coffee and pastries bar. Very cute.

The bed was too high for me. I'm short and I could not get into it. I should've asked the front desk for a step stool but instead, I improvised by using a waste paper basket turned upside down. No damage was done to it. I wish these older hotels would consider shorter people when furnishing their rooms.
