Motel 6-Carpinteria, CA - Santa Barbara - South

Let's be honest - the main driving force for staying at a Motel 6 is the low cost. The rates here were half or less than many other hotels in the area. If I wanted a luxury stay, I would have to pay far more, and expect far more. Given that this is a bargain motel, I thought everything was just fine. The room was cleaned daily, towels, soap, and shampoo were replaced regularly, beds made, etc. The room was large enough, with a spacious bathroom (we were in an ADA room), a mini-fridge, TV with remote, etc. We did not use the pool or laundry, but they were available, and the location was a moderate, comfortable walk to downtown shops , restaurants, and beach. I will also mention here that the motel seemed to be understaffed, which led to some longer lines and wait times. However, this is the way things are in the US right now in all hospitality from hotels to restaurants, so I do not fault them for this. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and pleasant even though they were stressed out.

My only complaint (and it is worth noting since the main thing one does at a hotel is sleep), is that the beds were not extremely comfortable. They weren't terrible, but not like my bed at home. Also, for the lower price, you get full size instead of queen sized mattresses.

The motel was clean, towels, fresh, bed super comfortable. Disappointed that there was no carpet. Several stores and restaurants were nearby. Access to/from the freeway was easy. We asked for a room without freeway noise, and it was quiet on the interior side of the building, facing the pool. Maid service each day. All that said, $200/night for a Motel 6 is just too high, especially outside of Santa Barbara.

Room was very clean and another guest commented that she also found their room to be very clean. The property itself was very clean and tidy. Towels were provided in the pool area so you didn't have to use your room towels. The pool was at an acceptable temperature. I was nervous since I stay at more expensive hotels but I was pleasantly surprised and for the value this Motel 6 was all we needed and exceeded expectations.

The outlet in the bathroom did not work. I would highly suggest you go around to all your outlets in the room and check them when you are in the rooms cleaning. I needed something to be heated up and I wasted my time thinking it was plugged into a working outlet. I had to start over again and find an outlet that worked.

beds, mattresses, and bedding were excellent, and everything was super clean.

I reserved a room on web site with 2 beds , but when we arrived I was told there is no room with 2 beds, and it in the smoking area. I was upset because I and my son (an adult ) could not use one bed, and it was too late at night to look for another motel. However, after several minutes of discussion and arguing the front desk person found a room with two beds in non-smoking area. I suggest that management check the information on web-site of the motel 6 for correctness more often, that people would have no surprise upon arrival.

Very friendly staff everything you need just ask staff for iron and hairdryer extra pillows no problem.Loved the pool never crowded. A lovely place to stay all in all .

There was nothing I didnt like at Motel6 you get exactly what you pay for The location is fab we stay here overtime we visit california . I have no complaints about this place and I would recommend it to anyone travelling on a budget around west coast usa.I will definitely be back again soon.

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Always ready to help and answer our questions. From the feom desk to the people who takes care of our room and the swimming pool. All were friendly, polite, with smiles in their faces. Good coffee too. Our rooms, we had two, were comfortable. Good size also.

The room is spacious, loved the pool and very clean. The property is very nice, alot of parking and the staff is very welcoming. My daughters had an amazing time. Alot of places to go to near by and the beach being so close is a plus 😊

Nothing really. I just wish we were allowed to check out at a later time even if we had to pay a little more.

We were very happy to get a room under trying circumstances due to the major storm that night. I want to especially commend the guys working the front desk - they were so nice and patient while dealing with a lot of stressed out travelers. Also kudos to management in general for not gouging customers on price that night, which they easily could have done.

Quite room above office accessed by stairs. Good coffee in the morning. Nice staff. Adequate parking. Comfortable bed. Nice sitting table and chair. Lots of electrical sockets. Good lighting in bathroom. Both bathtub and nice shower. Good towels. No box springs, mattress on a board but still conformable. One night stand on either side of queen beds. Individual lights above each bed. All and all I would return but no sure if I would choose another place since it was one of the few available and less expensive hotels in the area

Slow Wifi especially using VPN with laptop but still adequate for YouTube videos. You had to sign on to use a web site instead of no password or password. No hair dryer, no shampoo/body wash/conditioner, just 2 (but big bars) of soap, no drawers. Hangers in bathroom instead of in living area or closet. No refrigerator.

The location was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

The mattresses moved around when you get on or off, since they were on top of a platform. The bedding was very cheap quality and there weren't any extra blankets. There weren't any extras like shampoo, conditioner or lotion. Especially with the higher price point, more than 1 mini bar of soap would be nice.
