It was quiet, rustic feel, private. Loved hearing the wildlife at night.
I would have like more information regarding what was in the Cabin. The bed was very high and I have a bad back. I found it almost impossible to get in the bed. I don’t think I could have stayed another night. The mattress was comfortable, just too high for me. Also I called the number of the website and asked if the Restaurant would be open and was told yes. It was disappointing to find out it was closed for the days we were there.

The cabin was clean and very cozy. Everything that you could need was there...refrigerator, coffee pot, TV, comfy seating. Bathroom was perfect, shower had great water pressure. My cabin was #6, right by the lake. It was a beautiful setting. Wish I stayed longer. Loved that it was close to the restaurant and the Marjorie Kinnen Rawlings house. I took a tour which I loved. I would definitely come back again. The staff were more than gracious to help with any questions I had.
I was disappointed that when I went to the restaurant, I wasn't seated in the big dining room with all the memorabilia and musician. I didnt know about it until I walked around after I ate. I was really hoping to have that experience bc I saw those pics on the website before I arrived. When I was seated I didn't see any of it and thought maybe they changed things. It was a bit disappointing, but overall my trip was amazing otherwise.

This location is always relaxing, between the nature and the historic significance and the polite nature of the staff. I always look forward to going back.
The relaxing cabin. The creek, listening to the peacocks, the food at the cafe which is always good highly recommend the red fish grilled, the fried green tomatoes are amazing. And like I mentioned above the absolute kindness hospitality of the staff.

We loved the location! Felt like "old Florida". .cabin was cute and clean. Grounds were clean and well kept. The creek is beautiful and hubby reeled in 10 bass in the first couple hours we were there! Yay! Everyone was very friendly and it was quiet at night. Felt safe. Convenient to have the restaurant/bar right there. Appreciate the pet friendly policy!
Bed was not super comfy for hubby. OK for me as I'm lighter. Cabin 5

The river. The Limpkin birds calling their beautiful calls over the river. I played my violin by the river and we had the best time!! Definitely going there again. Our favorite place and the restaurant was so cool and bought a book there for my Mother!! Toured Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings orange farm. Beautiful and incredible . We watched the air boats by her homestead!!
Nothing. Everything was great!!

While the cabins are dated they are exactly like the pictures. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The queen size bed and linens were soft and comfortable. The staff was friendly and there wasn't a lot of noise even though our cabin was next to the road.
It would of been nice to have two comfortable chairs but we made do.

The location is rustic and off the beaten path, but also just a short drive from Ocala or Gainesville. It's secluded and quiet, and you can do absolutely nothing, go kayaking or walking, or kill a couple of hours fishing Cross Creek right on the grounds.
If you do want to stay connected, the Wi-Fi is spotty. The bathrooms are also a little cramped, but overall no real complaints!

Lisa was very attentive to our needs during our stay. We loved the peaceful location of the cabins on the creek. It was the perfect place to get away from city life. The bonfire was wonderful. We also loved the local history. We would definitely return. ☮️
Our only complaint is that the water was extremely slow to get hot enough to wash up or shower.

The restaurant is the best. I had duck breast the first night with Okra and tomatoes and collard greens. It was as good as any up scale restaurant you could find. The next night I has the redfish(with a side of duck breast again) and it was great. The restaurant is top notch. The duck and the red fish meals could have been served at the Ritz and you would have paid 3 times the price. The bar is a cozy, dark wood, pub like bar with very nice people working there. The cabin was a little rustic and worn, but it was clean and it worked for me. And you are right on Cross Creek. It is very peaceful. I will be going again next year, but for 4 nights not two. I
