The location was amazing, we loved how close we were to downtown shopping, all the food and restaurant options and attractions!

There was hair entwined in the towels, I had to call down for new ones. There was what looked like blood or ketchup on multiple surfaces on the bathroom as well as pubic hair on the toilet when we first entered the room.

Location and room comfort. The receptionist made good suggestions on food and things to do nearby. Very convenient house keeping services. Clean room and bathroom and stocked with toiletries.

Our room flooded after a shower on our last day. But they immediately changed our room so that was nice. We wish there was a pool. Access to room service would have been nice also since all restaurants close at 10pm in the city.

Having read a number of reviews, I was slightly apprehensive about our stay, however pretty much after checking in, all of those apprehensions proved unnecessary. I don’t quite understand where the negative reviews are coming from. Yes, the decor is slightly dated, however it does kinda fit in with the style of the hotel as you are greeted by 50’s style music each time you arrive and depart (which I thought was a great touch). Situated slap bang in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, nothing is more that a 15-20 min walk, and the layout of the city makes everything really easy to find. The bed was large and comfortable (stayed in a king room), the room and bathroom was clean and the shower was excellent. The staff were also friendly and polite, communication before our stay with Manager Ryan was very good, and the gym was exactly as I expected. Yes we had to ask at reception for our room to be serviced, but didn’t really bother me and definitely wouldn’t let that ruin our visit. And for the price (almost half of hotels of a comparable location) this hotel can not be faulted. Would definitely return if coming to Chicago again.

Lifts could take a while to arrive at our floor, but that is being quite pedantic as couldn’t really fault the property.

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building. The room was big and clean and it was nice to have a king size bed. Also, we appreciated the view from the room, from which you see directly the Hancock tower. Location is great, though the nearest subway is 10 min by foot, so near but not super near.

For the price payed I think there should be some improvements. The vent in the bathroom is so noisy that you can't turn on the light during the night if you don't want to wake up the other person that sleeps in the room. It would be nice to have a shelf or furniture in the bathroom to rest products on, currently there is nothing, is not very practical. Carpet on the floor of the room is not hygienic. Probably a bit overpriced overall.

Location good Staff was very customer friendly !! Room was nice, seemed clean Was there a recent renovation/remodel? It looked nice

Room was SMALL (#605) Couldn't even roll the luggage cart into the room to load it up - had to do it in the hallway Bathroom was TIGHT, no counter space Closet was awkward and small - however it was renovated was done poorly - because of space and layout, the door only slid open so far and the closet extended beyond the opening so it was difficult to reach further back beyond the opening to get to anything so we hung everything only where accessible (not much room). Fridge compartment in cabinet was HOT/overheated - too tight probably with not enough ventilation for electric

I visited the city because of participating in the conference. The location is almost perfect, quite nearby the downtown area. Additionally, compared to other similar-level hotels, Allerton has a rather comparative price advantage. Overall, the cost performance is beyond expetation.

The soundproofing is not that good in the living room. Neither the toothbrush nor toothpaste is prepared in advance, but it can be available if requested (the toothbrush quality is terrible though). No disposable slippers are available. Not sure if it is a general case in the U.S., but it is truly inconvenient and uncomfortable for me.

Perfectly located right on Michigan Ave. Easy to get to from the train station. Took care of our room/housekeeping after calling the first day.

I was not informed that housekeeping only services the rooms after staying 3 nights (on the 4th day). I was surprised that our room was not cleaned and no fresh towels after being gone all day after the first night. I called reception about this, but as you can see from the 'What did you like?' section, the hotel remediated the situation and cleaned our room on day 2 (and sent up fresh towels right away). The room could have been a bit cleaner. There was a sticky/oily substance on the night stand and light switch, and stains on the carpet next to the bed and in the corridor. Wifi did not work on the 3rd night we stayed and the afternoon preceding that. No breakfast or room service available as the restaurant and bar are closed until March.

The hotel room was very good, beautiful and had a lot to offer. I worked well from the desk or from the sofa. Bed and sofa were very comfortable. It was also good equiped with hair drier, iron and ironing board which I appreciated. The soap and shampoo were also good quality. There were enough elevators so there was not much waiting time. The hotel itself is iconic and the location is perfect being at the Magnificent Mile and near the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, ideal to have breakfast there. It was a good 4 star hotel and for the price it was a good option.

There was nothing that I did not like. Maybe the windows were a bit dirty from outside, so I could not take pictures.

The property was in a good location, clean and the room was very comfortable. It was a short taxi ride from the Amtrak station. Internet connection was good. I was able to walk to the Pier area and back easily - and was close to the Magnificent Mile.

Difficulty getting information from staff - I wasn’t sure what food /drink was available during my stay - so I opted to eat out. I asked about a map / directions - normally hotels I stay in have information stands, sharing information on local attractions. and I asked about the HOHO bus - it was like they didn’t know, or didn’t want to help. I did get a map - but would have needed a magnifying glass to view it. The hotel should realize not all visitors or local - and therefore once out of the hotel, don’t have access to google.
