location

terrible room-view was a brick wall looking down at trash dumpsters just in front of the elevator, very dark-no natural light---pretty bad when I booked two rooms exactly the same on different floors-not what I expected to get. Asked for a different room, told them I've stayed here before and they said no, this is what I booked. Not staying again.

The hotel is in a very good location, perfect for all activities in downtown Chicago. The room was nice and clean, and I did not hear the much sound from the street with the window closed. However, the door to the corridor did not block any noise, and one of the other doors made a kind of squeaking sound whenever opened or closed, often during the late evening, which was annoying.

The breakfast was expensive given what one could get. I wondered in the first day why there was essentially nobody for breakfast, and the next day I also went somewhere else (nice places in the surrounding). The rooftop bar was great, but the choice of cocktails was not very high, and they didn't even have all kinds of advertised beers.

The room size was huge, making it very comfortable to stay for a few days. Furniture a little bit old/ruined but anyway very clean. Bathroom size also good, as well as cleanliness. The position of the hotel is great, near to all the main attractions and walking distance from restaurants and bars.

Bathroom complimentary kit could be improved and was not refurbished every day. Around the corner near Seven Eleven shop at night there was always a quite loud crowd of people, not sure whether they were homeless. No problem at all but I would avoid if I were alone at night.

Well located boutique hotel in walking distance to many of the tourist attractions and main shopping area of Chicago. Comfortable bed. The separate lounge area was very comfortable.

Facilities such as "ironing facilities" were advertised but it was a shortened version of an ironing board which was broken and not really able to be used. There was a weird slab of marble in the base of the shower. There was a stale smell coming from the shower which may be related to the difficulty of cleaning around this slab of marble. Toiletries (shampoo/conditioner) were not replenished each day despite the empty bottles being left of the bathroom sink.

Everything from the booking process to checking out of the Ivy was smooth and easy. When we arrived, it only took 2 minutes and we were on our way up to our room. The room itself was spacious, clean, and all was in working order. The Ivy was in the area we needed to be and was less than 10 minutes from the office we had business at while in Chicago. The staff was exceptional, especially Francine who served us breakfast before our departure. Thank you for giving us the best experience while staying in a hotel in Chicago.

The bed frame around the bottom of the mattress stuck out and we bumped it multiple times with our feet while walking around the room. Please put better toiletries in the bathrooms - soap, shampoo, etc...

I have stayed at this hotel before, so I knew what to expected. The best thing about it is the location. The rooms are also quite large and very comfortable for comparable hotels nearby.

The TVs in rooms do not have the ability to stream/cast form you device. There is no morning coffee at the hotel. Since the rooms don't have milk, it would be a nice morning touch at a boutique hotel.

We loved everything about that Hotel.. When enter the lobby smells wonderfully, the elevators also smell wonderful, the entire hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere, the cleanliness is EXCEPTIONAL in addition to a great location..An average of 10 minutes walking anywhere. River Walk, stores on the Magnificent Mile, Starbucks Reserve, Nutella Coffee, Giordanos, Gibsons Italia and bar... The employees are always smiling and willing to help if needed. The only thing that I believe would be useful, is to include a microwave and the couple utensils in the room.

Staff was very helpful, making recommendations for meals in the area, and assisting us with parking. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We loved the "living room" area separate from the bedroom! The bathroom was also large, and the shower was wonderful. Nice lobby bar! The location is close to a lot of amenities, but the hotel is across from Northwestern Hospital, so it's a quiet zone. Try Do-Right Donuts, just a block away and so yummy for a quick breakfast.

The walls are thin. We heard music from our neighbors at 2 am, and an argument the next morning. Yikes.

I like that there were lots of modern features like the rainfall shower , enormous tub, TV integrated I to the bathroom mirror, automatic blinds and room door bell.

Everything was very low. The bed the chair the couch all seemed to be about a foot off the ground. Also, there was no way to stream on the TV, which there were directions for, but the TVs in the room weren't compatible. Also either the walls are thin or the doors are super heavy.. bc every time a door was closed it was soooo loud! It was very noticeable

Lovely hotel, functional but very nice, large rooms, and bathrooms, very good location just off Magnificent Mile, some nice restaurants and breakfast spots nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very quiet, comfortable room. Good facilities, free Wi-Fi.

Not really anywhere to have a drink/socialise - the reception bar area was v quiet and the rooftop was only okay. One or two things in the room weren’t working but no big deal. I had thought it was affiliated to a yoga studio next door but not this summer. Area can be a little ‘eclectic’ on a weekend night.
