Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Des Moines Downtown

great location and easy to access parking, close to lots of restaurants and things to do. room was very comfy and the shower was absolutely amazing. also loved that we had access to showtime and netflix while we stayed!

while it was near to many activities, it was right across from the wells fargo arena and there was substantial traffic due to a graduation. we also were told we would be given 50% off our first bar drink at the hotel bar when we arrived, then when we went to cash in this voucher, we were told the bar was actually closed which was a little disappointing.

The breakfast was typical motel fare. Scrambled eggs, waffles, limited selection of yoghurt and fruit. Nothing to write home about. I was a little nonplussed that for our entire one week stay a housekeeper never set foot in the room nor were we asked if there was anything we needed. We aren't high maintenance so it really didn't matter but nonetheless it did surprise me. We weren't told at check that there would be no housekeeping service.

Staff was very friendly & helpful. Also being across the street from the Wells Fargo Arena was very convenient for the Monster Jam show

Elevators sounded like they needed maintained, they were kind of noisy & the Tap card Key or door lock for room 401 was temperamental and took a couple trys to unlock.

Went to attend the Quilt Show at the event center which is just up the block for the facility. Which made it ideal. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

On a minor note one of the lamps in our room was missing a shaded and was just a bare bulb. The light still functioned so this wasn't a real problem.

It's easy enough to get in and out of, and in summer would be ideal to walk around the area. It was coolish in the room, but with a personal temp adjustment, all was good for an excellent, restful sleep.

Breakfast was good, until a kid was running amok and coughing and sneezing all over the buffet. Dad was not attentive, his brother was picking his nose in the food line too. The customer always being right doesn't apply to that family!

The breakfast area was huge and offered a large variety for a free breakfast. The location if you have an event at the center across the road is amazing. Everything is in walking distance.

The tv didn’t work and needed taken off the wall and plugged back in. Not a huge deal, but would have been awesome if it was ready to go.

The facility was kept very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Since we attended a conference that was across the the location was perfect. Onsite parking is very helpful when attending a conference.

Maybe a bit more hot breakfast offerings, but other than that all was great.

I liked the convenience of the location being next to the Wells Fargo arena since we went to a concert and there were a ton of restaurants 5 minutes away which was also super nice

they said there was a bar in the booking ad but the bar was shut down and that was something we really wanted and part of the reason we stayed here

The room they gave us was huge! It was very clean and the bathroom had great double sinks for us to share. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. He even set us transportation for us to the ball park.

The toilet in our room didn't flush :( we called the front desk and they had to move our room. Im happy they did that but just a little inconvenience since we had already unpacked and settled.
