We are on a roadtrip. After spending the day in Yosemite, we took a short drive over to the Topaz. For what we paid, it was exactly what we needed. A very small casino overlooking Topaz Lake with the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the background. Also the gas that is right there was the cheapest we have seen so far. The general store was reasonably priced.

The restaurant is inside the casino, so you can smell cigarettes. Also the coffee was pretty rough. Atleast there gorgeous views out of the huge windows lining the walls of the restaurant. If you want a decent cup of coffee go to the general store.

I have to commend Chris who was the person who checked us in. He was very patient, informative and helpful. He was able to accomodate our 8-person party close to each other. We ate dinner at the restaurant, the view was excellent. The pulled pork was on point! all of my other 7 companions thought the food was "better than they expected" The service was great.

I personally cannot be around smoke. So the smoky casino was a turn off. And having to walk through the casino to check in and to the restaurant was not ideal. Also the beds were very creaky. Not enough soap/towels.

The customer service was very helpful and friendly, and the food was wonderful.

I made the reservation the day prior to us leaving through booking. Com and when we arrived at the lodge, even though I had the confirmation and all the necessary info on my phone, the customer service lady couldn't find it on her computer. However she was still able to accommodate us. This is the 2nd time I have had problems with booking.com and will never use them again. Thank you

Location for great fishing, old fashioned lodge atmosphere, reasonable gambling fun. Great affordable place for a family or friends get together with something for everyone. Extra friendly staff. Pet friendly. Beautiful lake view rooms though rustic. Easy to book for group to be near one another. Cool free hat for fishing folks.

Not saying it could be better, but this is a place large groups get together to have fun. The rooms are not soundproof so expect to hear laughter, load talking and neighbors’ tv at any hour. It is what it is. Folks are sharing stories and laughing. Also, can’t wait until formal dining room reopens!!!

Nice hotel, restaurant and casino on the prettiest highway in the states. The Steakhouse restaurant was delicious, but pricey. The Diner food was not that great, in my opinion.

Hope they get the roof fixed this summer, lots of leaks. Would hate to see this awesome property fall into disrepair.

cozy atmosphere, space for children to play, super clean

some very noisy guests above our room. the night they stayed up late making a lot of noise. but this is not a weakness of the hotel, but the lack of education of some people who do not know how to respect socializing

manager was very helpful in getting a much needed refrigerator in our room. although no cleaning person came (we were there 4 nights) they promptly brought additional towels when asked.

puddle of water outside room at door each night due to heavy rains. maybe could use a mat inside to step on instead of us having to use room towels to wipe up floor.

It was very clean and comfortable. Very quiet as well. The restaurant was very good and priced reasonable. The service was pretty good. Only real complaint was that the ice machine next to room 45 did not work.

We absolutely love the topaz Lodge it's very personable the rooms are really great we get to bring our pets with us we love the park we love the people and we love that there is a really great restaurant there and a 24-hour store

Nothing

First, we stayed because we just wanted an area to sleep in mainly. We loved the lake side view that we had as well as the presentation when we got into the room. The bathroom was very clean and everything was working properly in that room. The staff were kind and very helpful and did everything to fix a problem we ran into with our rooms.

The one thing we didn’t like at the property was the fact that we get there and we went to register our hotel and they didn’t have our room. Maybe because they forgot or maybe because they accidentally gave our room to someone else. Other than that a nice lady helped us out and get a room for us.
