The room we ended up in was very nice. We had some issues with the first room, and without asking, were put in a different room next to the railroad tracks. Our room was in the back of the complex. It had two queen beds. It was large, clean and comfortable. The small balcony was nice to sit outside on. The lighting could have been improved by adding a floor lamp and wall sconces. The pool and hot tub were nice , and they also have an outdoor grill if you want to cook and eat there. We would recommend staying there.

The original room was rather old and not very nice. It seemed damp and was small. Definitely not updated. It was in the main building, lower level. The phone outlet was pulled out of the wall, and the phone did not work for us to call the front desk. The outdoor furniture was missing also. They were short staffed and there was no housekeeping, which was ok with us. We just had to go to the front desk to ask for supplies. The room we stayed in had a broken screen on the sliding glass door, which should be fixed.

Everything was really clean, and nice. Even though it's on a main road inside the room was really quiet, which was great because it was raining the majority of the time we were up there, so we spent a good amount of time in the room. The jacuzzi was very nice, the tub was large, and the fireplace was pleasant. I would definitely stay there again.

There wasn't much I didn't like. Only 2 things. Lack of a coffee maker in the room was kind of a bummer, but we made due. (They do have it in the office, but I'm lazy and didn't feel like leaving the room.) The only other thing, spiders. LOTS of BIG spiders outside. Granted, they kept mosquitoes and other biting bugs away, but there was a LOT. Found 2 or 3 small ones IN the room, which wasn't a big deal, but I didn't like going out on the balcony because of it.

The pool, fire pit and grounds were nice and well cared for. Staff was friendly and good coffee in the lobby each morning.

There were quite a few flies in our room as cleaning staff left the door wide open when we showed up at the door to unlock it with our key. It was a bit pricey in my opinion. Could have easily have been $200/night rather than $300. A complimentary breakfast or pastries would have been nice for the price point. Would have preferred a 2nd floor room to the first floor.

Our room was very big. It had all the comforts. Large areas for your bathroom needs. Very comfortable bed. Ample pillows. Extremely cosy. Great balcony for privacy. Parking is good. Staff was very pleasant. Very close to the town center and shops, restaurants, etc.

It was tough taking a left on Rt. 16 (where the town is located) coming out of the hotel. Rt. 16 can get very busy but this is not really the hotel's fault. We think a group of families rented 2-3 rooms under us. Lots of kids and very noisy (as early as 6:30 am), lots of smoking. Would like the property to be smoke free everywhere with proper enforcement.

The rooms we stayed in were clean and fresh. It was located in a decent spot and wasn't too far from the main drag or any other place we wanted to head to. I also enjoyed the pool/Jacuzzi area. It was relaxing and easy to use (especially when you are the only person using it).

The bathroom did not have a vent, which wasn't exactly ideal when using the shower. The shower itself worked out well, although it became very much like a sauna after getting out. The bathroom sink also had a hard time draining completely. It would fill up after some use and then it stayed full for a long period of time. We were told a maintenance person would look into the situation, but either they couldn't get around to it before we left or the staff forgot to mention it.

The staff.. the lady was extremely rude when it was exactly 9pm and the pool closed. You can’t even dry off. Some of us we just sitting around chatty and she wouldn’t even let us stay just tapped her watch. And the kids on the second floor made it very difficult to sleep in the morning

The property was beautiful. It was quiet and very well taken care of. The parking was also so close to our door.

The visitors on the top floor were on the balcony smoking pot and was coming in my hotel room window. I wish they would have just walked away from the building. I didn’t say anything about it either to the staff.

Staff excellent, location convenient, clean and modern furnishings, long granite countertop in bathrooms are so nice when traveling, good water pressure, large closet for storage, white linens on bed, mini fridge, and microwave in room, the grounds were lovely with beautiful lights on all the trees so even in February it looked very nice! This is our 4th stay at the Golden Gables. Great value for your money.

Our only complaint was the temperature in the room was quite warm despite the thermostat being turned down to 62, we slept with just a sheet on in February. We thought of opening the window but then it became too cold lol. This would not prevent us from staying again.

Pretty comfortable motel. Nice and clean, comfortable king bed.

The location is very commercial, One thing I don't understand is the waste of energy. When we arrived, the weather was really bad (55 degrees, pouring rain), when we entered the room, it was very cold inside because the AC was set on 62. Later we realized the heating was on at the same moment. So, it made us very uncomfortable and was very non-eco-friendly at the same time.

Super easy check in with no hassle. Clean room. Nice balcony. Room was pretty big. Comfortable bed.

Road noise and vibration was hard to sleep with. Guests next door made noise all night, but obviously not the hotel's fault!
