Hampton Inn Ashtabula

The room was very clean and spacious and so was the bathroom. There was plenty of countertop space in the bathroom for our own toiletries. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. They have a 24h hot beverage station in the lobby, which we liked. You could also make coffee or hot tea in the room, which is a nice feature as well as having a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. The lobby and breakfast area have a lovely, contemporary decor. The staff was very courteous and friendly. They accommodated my request to have a room away from the elevators. Any staff member, we encountered in the hallways, said hello to us and wished us a nice day. I was particularly impressed with a young man (a staff member) who when leaving the elevator wished us to have a blessed day. That was especially nice and we really liked it. The pool area was nice as well but we didn’t use it and neither the gym since we stayed there only for one night. The hotel is conveniently located close to the freeway. Despite that, our room was pretty quiet.

The water in the bathroom sink was not draining fast enough but that was a minor issue. I did mention it to the receptionist in the morning when we were checking out and she said that they would take care of it. The breakfast was typical for the most hotels in this country; a lot of carbohydrates, which we try to avoid. They also had scrambled eggs, fruit and yogurt, which was good but more healthier choices would be welcome. Also, I would like a wider selection of teas like some fruit flavors.

I did not end up eating the continental breakfast. The location was good for the family plans that were going on in the area at the time. I have previously stayed at one other hotel in the area. The Hampton was a much better choice. It was cleaner, I felt more secure. It was more quiet. Also, at the previous place I was supposed to have a no smoking room and it was obvious that someone had been smoking in the room, but I was out of luck as that was the only room available.

I was across from the elevator and there was some elevator noise. That was the only thing that I can truly say.

Rooms were clean and great! The staff was incredibly friendly and sweet. I really appreciated the girls in the evening who really were accommodating and friendly who gave suggestions on cab companies, food places, and just were great to talk to.

The lady that helped with the food service ! She was exceptional! I was traveling with three little kids by myself for a track meet . I spilled something then I went to clean it up and she said “this is my job, you rest” that really touched me because I was already overwhelmed.

I liked everything

Rooms were clean, breakfast was great! We traveled with friends and the hotel was able to accommodate by putting us beside each other!

Only negative was price was a little high ($260/night) but considering breakfast was free made up for it!

friendly staff, great location, many places to eat and there is a convenient store near by. The breakfast was good for what I can eat. I have celiac disease so could not eat a lot. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Nothing for gluten-free breakfast. but that’s not a huge deal for me

Location was very close to the harbor (we went on a fishing charter), it was very accessible to the interstate highway, and it kept us out of the city proper. It was a quiet location. Using the Hilton app to check in while en route to the hotel was fantastic.

Hot coffee earlier would have been nice. Earlier breakfast options for grab and go would have helped, too. We had to be out by 4:45 am for the fishing charter.

The location was good. The breakfast was filling.

The air conditioning unit sounded like a car with bass speakers in the trunk when it was when it was cycling.

great breakfast. variety. hot scrambled eggs and sausage and oatmeal. cold cereal, muffins, fruit. gloves provided for health safety. seating was very comfortable. also coffee, juice, milk.

this is so minor but the tv in room and at breakfast kept tiling and freezing screen so you missed half the show.

The room and facility was very clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which saved us son much time at the start of our day.
