Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront

We liked the hotel on the river. We walked along the river in the morning. We liked the 3rd Floor Lounge with the Drinks / Snacks and the Breakfast. We liked the Coffee shop in the hotel. The valet person was very nice!!

We did not like there was no gift shop in such a large hotel. There was a large convention going on. Missed opportunity for guests to get personal items and other stuff. All they had was a few drinks off to the left of the front desk area. We had to make our way to Target a few blocks away. This was a bit unnerving walking into the Target with 3 armed police officers. There were a lot of homeless people coming into the Target store. They were also hanging around on the streets. We were in and out very quick. Not sure I would stay here again based on the location. We liked the Portland Embassy Suites location better as it felt safer to walk around and walk to Voodoo Donuts.

The room was clean and modern. The beds cozy but pretty low, which was fine. Loved the lighting options (headboard lights, lamps) but the room always seemed dark. We couldn’t get the thermostat to stay so the room was either freezing or sweltering with no regulating anything in between. But we had a great time and the staff was wonderful, especially the front desk. So kind and patient when I checked in.

That I missed happy hour both days I was there! And Restaurant hours—wishing they were open more, but we went across the street and found lots of great restaurants. Great location, will come back again to explore more.

The room was super comfortable! The bed was super comfy and fell asleep without any problems! I normally don't sleep well the first night in a hotel.

I wish you had more snack options or room service. It was a Mother/Daughter trip to celebrate her 16th bday and we were looking forward to ordering room service and hanging out! We had to walk to a convince store to find some evening snacks. I ASSUMED a prime Marriott property would have room service. I am sure it is due to COVID, but maybe mention on the booking site.

It was our 50th anniversary, and the hotel assigned a lovely room with a river view on a high floor. They also were very prompt with a "romance package" of champagne and chocolate as soon as we got to our room. All the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful- like they really enjoyed their jobs!

Valet parking might have mentioned to take everything we would need during our stay, as it was a bit of a hassle for them to go and get it from our car once it had been parked.

All the staff was pleasant and helpful, ( especially the morning staff at the restaurant). Rooms were clean and beds super comfortable. The The location was perfectly located across from the river walk.

I believe a complimentary breakfast would be a nice touch. We travel the world and 90% of hotels we stay in have breakfast included with our stay.

The furnishings and aesthetic were beautiful. The hot apple cider in the lobby every morning was a very nice touch and the cider was delicious!

We could hear the traffic as though we were ground level but we were on the 8th floor! The location is nice being close to downtown but did not feel safe enough to take evening or early morning walks. We agreed to the location thinking we would park the car and walk most of our stay.

The room was very spacious! The air conditioning was a bit loud, but it kept the room exceptionally cool during the intense heat.

The front receptionist made a comment about us being married... we were mother and son, we got a chuckle out of it, but others may not find it as amusing as we did

The hotel has a great location, close to the coffee shops and in walkable distance to the bars/restaurants. We had a beautiful view of the river. The beds were comfy and the toiletries were decent. In the lobby, the water and hot cider were suggested during the day which was very sweet.

The heater wasn't working properly (not to the setting we made), too hot or too cold and very noisy. This is the only comment we didn't like about this hotel.

The location is pretty nice. It feels close to where you want to be, about a 15 minute walk or short Uber ride.

The room was very small. The bathroom with the sliding door feels impractical and very not private. Got swindled into the valet parking that was not worth the price at all.

The view. Breakfast was amazing and the property is taking good care of the safety and healthy during the Pandemic. Way to go reinventing the ways to do business. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly.

Everything amazing. The only problem is they had confirmed my special request sending me a message that could accommodate that (a microwave as have a toddler who drinks warm milk before bed). I do understand that special requests are according to availability tough but when they replied saying that could accommodate my request I created the expectations and I did not worried about getting something to warm my son's bottle. I figured out that I could warm the milk with the water that was very hot in the room. :)
