Embassy Suites Pittsburgh-Downtown

Breakfast included is great - omelette station looked popular, but I am not waiting 30 minutes to eat! Hot eggs daily, bacon and sausage, choice of bread/pastry, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, coffee, juices and pop (for real!), hot potatoes and one of pancake or waffle. Get there before 9 to get a seat!

Ran out of food at the Happy Hour (get there early!), as it doesn't seem to be replenished. Confusion over valet parking - told at check in - 'we have nothing to so with them', but was surprised to see the valet charges on my hotel bill - clearly you ARE affiliated!

The room, bathroom and hotel was very nice overall. Any interaction we had with the staff was very nice. They had a nice small cocktail hour.

The location of the hotel. There were a bunch of questionable people and homeless people a few doors down the street from the hotel entrance. We took a walk one evening and two ladies had a huge brawl right in front of me and my family - shouting obscenities and throwing punches. There were about 25 other people from their crowd cheering the one girl in. It was ridiculous and scary for my children. Too close for comfort. Also the restaurant breakfast area's floor was extremely sticky. It was kinda gross.

The room was very nice and clean, the bed and pillows were super comfortable along with the comforter. All the staff was very friendly and the happy hour with the 2 complimentary drinks and snacks was definitely a nice touch. Within walking distance to alot of restaurants and there is a target and rite aid also within walking distance if you happen to need anything.

The parking situation was the only thing I can say I didn't like. Either pay 35$ a day for valet at the hotel, or park across from the hotel in the parking garage and pay everytime u leave and come back. But I chalk that up to being a part of staying in the city.

what did we like …… - the location, the quiet sleep, the type of room, the light blocking shades! the check-in staff and valet folks were very nice and personable! Will definitely be back - an excellent place to stay!

We waited about 30 min to get our car out from the valet service. We had a long drive home and this was an unfortunate delay. The issue was everyone wanted their cars all at the same time and no amount of valet staff would be able to handle that. The valet staff worked their tails off and were very honest, personable and did their best but I will probably park my car myself next time.

location superb - valet and bell staff availability very good (for a cost) - happy hour nice and breakfast nice but of course....they don't feel "free" because cost to stay is very very expensive. Loved the space in the rooms. Kids loved the pool.

not perfect room - sticky door. no lock on bathroom - our coffee maker was FILTHY with sludge in it and there was no coffee tea or creamers anyway. no safe that i saw. Could have used more towels. We stayed here because of a family get together so didn't have a choice. paid 350 per night. 700 plus another 100 for 2 days parking plus tip. 800 for 2 nights in pittsburg? So. So. Expensive.

The location of this hotel was nice. Close to the subway where we got on for free to attend a Steelers game. The room was very nice and spacious with a good view of the downtown area and bridges.We also enjoyed the free hot breakfast they offered.

Our room was not ready at 4 o’clock which was supposed to be the check in time. The staff was pretty unapologetic about our room not being ready and we were told we just had to wait. Also the only parking option was valet at our expense.

The look and the convience of being near what we needed.

Hidden fees. Suppose to be a flat rate. Went in assuming I was going to pay one price. We did get the valet service which added 35 to our bill but there was a $40 difference more that no one told us about.

The buffet was nice in the mornings. There was a good selection of food to meet most dietary requirements. James at the omelet station was fantastic and put a lot of love & attention into your food. Front desk staff was pleasant. Valet team was very nice to deal with when parking.

Little things like a wine glass & fork that sat in the hallway a few feet from my room - it was there from Thursday check-in until Saturday morning. No one saw it? The tables in the dining room were sticky though I saw them being cleaned - the floors were sticky (like spilled soda?). How is this possible. Little pieces of stuff on the carpets in the hallways outside of the rooms. Black mold in the corners of the shower stall; non-functional USB charging ports in the headboard. Crappy satellite television service. Little details like that.

Got the suite room and it worked out great with 2 year old, plenty of room for pack n play in the bedroom and we could relax in the living room while he slept. Kitchenette had mini fridge, sink, and microwave. Great location downtown, about 30 minute walk to Children's Museum and Aviary, 15 minutes to Point State Park. There was a small Target about a block away, good if you forgot something. Love that breakfast and happy hour (2 free drinks) were included. Bed was comfy. There were 2 doors to the bathroom, we kept the hallway door locked to keep kid out and the sliding door from bedroom was very heavy so he couldn't use it.

My biggest problems were very minor issues. No bathtub. The mini-fridge did not have a freezer so we could not re-freeze our ice pack for the 5 hour drive home. There was a "master switch" at handicap/child height on the wall next to the main door which turned off all the lights in the living/bedroom spaces that were not floor lamps, and my son kept flipping the switch on and off. Also, I had a really hard time telling what was in the room/how it was laid out from the pictures, so I made a diagram (not to scale!) hopefully that helps someone figure it out.

The rooms were really clean, spacious, comfortable and we slept well every night. Brilliant views from room and bar. Breakfast was really good (good choice and well stocked). Complimentary drinks in an evening were a nice touch (plastic glasses not so much). Porters, bar and breakfast staff and (other) receptionist were all friendly, efficient and professional.

The member of staff who checked us in was disinterested, unfriendly and made us feel like we were an inconvenience (she spoke so fast when describing the facilities that it was impossible to understand what she said). It was a poor first impression and a shame as every all other members of staff were really professional, friendly and helpful. The hair dryer was next to useless. It would have been good to be able to make boiling water in the room (kettle or proper cup).
