Kinda off the beaten path on Merrimac Trail...but what a jewel! Room was spacious and clean..had ALL the modern conveniences and great WIFI...the staff was very friendly and helpful we WILL be back

Spacious rooms that were clean and comfortable at a great value. The owners were gracious and accommodating. It's a motel and we knew that when we made the reservation. A great find and a little gem in the heart of Williamsburg.

Wasn't anything that stuck out. It's an older property but the owners do a great job with upkeep.

The owners are wonderful and promptly responsive when we brought up a couple of minor issues. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at Merrimac Inn and Suites.

The one aspect that detracted just a bit from the overall comfort level of our accommodations was that we were never able to take a really warm shower. We mentioned this to the owner and were told that the boilers were on the opposite side of the property. We realize that this problem might not be easily (cost-effectively) fixable. In the short term, I guess that those guests who are affected just make do until they can get back home or somewhere else for that good, hot shower.

Our family stayed here previously and really enjoyed our stay so when looking for a 1 night stay in close proximity to Busch Gardens, we decided to give them a try again. I was met at the front desk by the new owner, a very pleasant man. He was friendly and check in was very fast. We made our way to our room and once inside I noticed that the bedspreads appeared to be new. The room was very clean. A pleasant surprise being that the beds were made with extra blankets on them for warmth as it was quite chilly. Checking out was just as easy and Mrs. Patel was just as friendly. The property seems to be making great improvements under the new ownership.

Very friendly staff, when we had a couple of problems with the room the manager/owner( I believe it was ) was on top of fixing the problems we had in a good time. He was super friendly also that is something you don't see much anymore in the hospitality business. Definitely would stay again and recommend. Did not expect our own bedrooms for the 2 queen bed suite. Very close to Busch Gardens,, water country and a short drive away from Go Ape

The only bad thing is parking was a little tight especially If there is a big truck parked it can make it a little hard to get by it.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Checking in was easy. The rooms were very clean. Air condition was noisy but worked well and kept room very cool. Location was convenient. Water pressure in shower was good. The decor and overall is need of update but it is need of an update so that is to be expected. The mini fridge worked, water pressure in shower was good. The toilets were small and low but that is ok. The pool was kept clean. It too could use some update but it was fine for the family to use and did not reek of chemicals. The manager was out early in the morning cleaning it and checking on the levels. He knew the kids were anxious to get in to once he made sure it was ready, he let them in early than when it was supposed to open. This is of course not a fancy place and I usually stick with more expensive hotels when traveling but was having a hard time booking a few hotel rooms near Busch Gardens for a multi family trip and decided to give this a try. And actually, I'm happier than if I had gone with a more expensive place and will come back in the future if the same family is still managing.

Room was relatively clean. The owners were wonderful.

Little spot cleaning would be nice like the dirt that has accumulated on the top of the shower's tile' Room was smoke free but outside stunk of stale cigarettes'. When we left yesterday, I could smell that smell an hour later. It seemed like there were a couple rooms that people live in full time???

It is an older motel that has been updated a bit. Room was clean, clean sheets, newer bed, great value. Much better value than bigger name hotels in the area. Very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.

Room was damp, HVAC could not keep dampness out. Seal around door needs to be updated, could see daylight all the way around it. Which probably did not help with the dampness. Carpets, although they were clean, need to be updated.
