The building had its charm as an old historic site. Narrow hallways, narrow staircases, and a small elevator gave it a fun old timey charm. The room wasn't very large, but I didn't need it to be as a solo traveler. It had all the amenities I needed to get through my trip. The hotel had a lot of cool ornate decor giving it an air of fancy. For the price, it ws perfectly licated for me to walk to all of my destinations. It would be nice to have a garage or something, but the free nearby dedicated parking lot worked out well for being in a tight downtown area.

The room wasn't terribly clean. There was debris on the floor and the sheets looked like they had stains on them. Washed, but stained. There was also an odd smell in the center of the room. Almost like someone forgot to clean up after a pet. There wasn't breakfast available like was advertised online. I guess the restaurant attached had closed a while before my stay.

This is a beautiful historic property that makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. The decor and furniture of the common areas are authentic to the age of the building. Great location right in the heart of downtown Cheyenne. I will say that if you are looking for a hotel that is fully renovated to modern standards (for example, the bathrooms), this may not be the place for you. I personally love that it's authentic to a different period of time. You can stay in a "modern" facility anywhere. Finding a beautiful time capsule that's still in good condition like The Plains Hotel is very special. Take advantage of that rare experience.

I would have loved to have some food options or possibly breakfast and coffee offered. The restaurant and bar attached to the hotel are closed for now while new management is found to operate both. Looking forward to that in a future visit. I would love to see more period-appropriate furniture and decor in the rooms, but I understand that may not be what other people want in a hotel experience.

We loved the historic aspect of the hotel. It's like being in a time machine. We arrived very late a we're doing a crosscountry trip and Dave checked us in. He was wonderful! Shared some of the great history of the hotel and didn't mind us wandering around looking at everything in the middle of the night. Bonus was that he shared some ghost stories with us. Overall loved the entire experience and would highly recommend.

Coffee in the a.m. could have been better, but The Good Egg restaurant was just across the street.

I loved the historical aspect of it and the fact that most of it has remained. The lobby was original and beautiful. I only found this place because I had a confirmation for the Travelodge, and when I got there, they couldn't find it! They were rude, and I was quite upset and searched for another place. It was my lucky day finding this jewel! Checking in was easy, and the staff was helpful and delightful. We walked to The Albany for dinner, and it too was historic and wonderful. I would love to return some day.

Nothing. Everything was great.

Elegant vintage Western decor, maintained beautifully. Multiple upgrades, including electrical and fitting modern appliances and closets into rooms built over 100 years ago demonstrated the effort and care of the owners. Even the plumbing fixtures are original and work!

Guests are completely locked out after 9:30 pm. If one has the numeric passcode for a side door, entry is possible but for new guests, prepare to stand on the downtown street alone, calling the front desk number provided by Booking.com and wait for the kind staff to open the door.

Just love the overall history and vibe of this hotel. We have stayed here twice before. This was a very quiet, low-tourism time, so it was bare bones staff. But front desk folks were extremely responsive to our requests.

No room service at all (we stayed 3 nights). It would have been nice to have at least one room service during our stay. Also--disappointed that the attached restaurant and bar were closed...and hope that they are able to open up now that Covid is "over" and summer is coming! They definitely add a sense of comradery and enjoyment to the experience.

We loved the atmosphere and historical value. The beds were comfortable. It wasn't quite as clean as it might have been but it is an historical hotel. One of the pillow cases looked as though it might not have been changed from the last guest. Please! Please! Do not modernize this hotel!! It is a gem as it is. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us historical facts when we asked. We had a ball exploring the 2nd floor and all the photos and artifacts.

Nothing.

We absolutely loved the historical qualities. Everything was so well preserved that it felt like we were stepping back in time. The young lady who checked us in was so kind and informative.

Not necessarily something to dislike, just something for future guests to be aware of before you arrive. This is an older hotel and has not been updated completely. While it is comfortable and clean, it is def not a boutique or luxury hotel. However, the historical aspects were our reason for the visit.

This hotel is old and it has not been updated in years, and I loved every little detail. The staff were so helpful and the location is perfect in downtown. The room was clean , the hot water in the shower great and the airconditioner worked well. If you are looking for modern , and chic this is not the place for you. If you like old elevators ,penny tile in the bathrooms , lots of character/stories then please stay here. I just love these old hotels let's keep them open!!!!!

The resturant was closed.

The lobby and second floor are amazing. The staff was very friendly. Queen double was spacious. Location is right in the heart of Cheyenne.

Parking was a little troublesome, but it is a historic hotel in the heart of downtown. Just park on the street to check in and unload. Also, if you arrive after 9:30, call the hotel to be let in the doors, they lock them for security purposes. The rooms feel rustic, so if you want “modern” this isn’t it.
