We were welcomed by the owner, some of his friends and staff. All were smiling and happy people - so pleasant after a long drive. The owner was so passionate about the themed room, he took the time to explain it all and answer our questions. The decoration of our themed room was stunning, the bed were really comfortable, our private balcony was perfect for breakfast in the rising sun. Listening to LP records from the library was a really bonus too.

We can’t think of anything. It’s so odd to find such a place in a small beach town; you’d expect them only in big cities. So it was wonderful to find it hidden, so close to the beach in such a quiet and beautiful location.

This place has so much charm and idealistic location right from Old Bar Beach, the themed rooms make for a cozy and perfect experience accompanied with live music just down stairs and probably some of the tastiest food around. The standout here was the staff and their exceptional level of service making my stay super comfortable and pleasant. My AC stopped working late in the night and they assisted me in getting a cooler for the night and a room change right around Christmas time which I was lucky for and ensured I was comfortable for the subsequent nights. I will absolutely stay here again just because of the high level of service that was provided here.

The air-conditioning stopped on my first night and broke but that was a one of event that happens sometimes.

I would highly recommend it - we stayed in the mixed tape room. The bathroom tiles blew us away (you'll understand if you stay there); the room was very clean; the food in the restaurant downstairs was excellent; there was live music the night we stayed (we left before it finished and couldn't hear it in our room - bonus!) and finally, all the staff we dealt with were lovely. Stay cool Boogie Woogie Beach House, you're awesome!

Not something we disliked - more of an observation......Some information in the room about the town, attractions, places to eat, restaurant menu, etc., and we would have loved to read the story behind the creation of the Boogie Woogie Beach House.

I absolutely adored the character of the accommodation. I stayed in the David Bowie room ☺️

I really enjoyed the whole experience but I got to spend very little time there due to friends staying local. The mini bar prices are under the mugs, I didn’t notice it until after I drank the juice. Would be beneficial to put it on top of the fridge or in it! Access to your accommodation once the restaurant closes is through the balcony which can be accessed via stairs and the back car park which gets very dark. Maybe it’s just a downfall for women travelling on their own.

Great location just a few metres from the beach. Unassuming from the exterior. We nearly booked elsewhere as we thought it was closed. We were very pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the rooms and food. We were able to sit on the balcony and have a great meal while watching the live entertainment. We loved the Loui Armstrong shower. The cafe was open in the morning and offered a great breastfast selection and good coffee. You know it must be good when you see all locals drop in. We highly recommend a stay at Boogie Woogie Beach House.

We have no complaints

It was original and quirky in a great way. There were records to play in the room. It had two sets of bunk beds to accommodate more than two kids. The size was spacious with a great verandah off the room. We enjoyed live music with great food and cocktails on the Thursday night.

There’s allot to like. It’s renovated and modern. If I was to be super picky, the water pressure in the shower was low. I would like to emphasise it was a beautifully renovated bathroom.

Breakfast was great and staff were really friendly. The rooms were very quirky and different but lovely.

Found our bed was a bit too firm but honestly you cannot please everyone as family that were in another room said there's was great so not that big a deal. I guess saying I didn't like this is not correct it was the least part I liked but not that big a deal.

A very funky room - Cassette Tapes etched on the bathroom tiles...the other rooms like Blondie etc were booked out!. We had a comfortable King size bed, kettle facilities, a biggish fridge and a decent TV/Netflix setup. A generous balcony with table, chairs and a deckchair to chill out on. The bathroom was spacious to say the least! Then....of course, let's not forget the Crosby turntable in every room, on which you can play any of the vinyl albums off the walls in the corridor!! The downstairs dining area was very roomy, and protected from the elements but still had an airy feel. We ate Breakfast & Dinner and both were totally excellent quality and reasonably priced. They have a highly experienced chef on board, who now lives locally - a great fit for this place. No live music on the small stage atm, but we're looking forward to re-booking when that starts up again. The wine list featured well known wineries, quite a few had some age to them, so not the usual hit and miss affair when choosing wines, these guys know their stuff and prices are reasonable. Steve, the owner, has done a great job in converting this place to a fun, comfortable place to eat and stay. The staff are friendly and work hard at keeping everyone happy. Recommend this place as a good stopover on the Mid north coast.

We stayed in the Grohl room, which was a funky little room, typical in size for a pub stay, but far above in style and bathroom size! Great facilities with netflix loaded, and again the bathroom/shower was a highlight of this room... I can now say that I've had a shower with Dave Grohl! The staff are super friendly and very accommodating. The food, drink and vibe at the Flow Bar downstairs are all fantastic, certainly some of the best dinner food we've had at Old Bar (it's actually our usual go-to when we stay in Old Bar anyway). Awesome breakfast menu and with great coffee made the morning start easy.

The only thing needed was replacing a light bulb next to bed. Was in Ziggy Stardust room. Ordered a coke from the bar served in original coke glass. Great mix. Not all coca-colasare the same. Cannot recommend Boogie Woogie enough. Am sure it goes off on weekends with live music. We did a Tuesday night. Breakfast menu has a well deserved reputation given the number of people who showed up. We were only guests in hotel that night. Mushrooms and truffle oil on toast very nice indeed.
